  1. I asked our TA about this. She called Princess and although this is not yet ready to be rolled out, what they did was just roll the amount of the Plus into the fare☹️ Our savings would have been $120. Both of us expected a couple thousand at least.
  2. In case anyone is interested - there is a shuttle from the Port to the city center. Didn't ask if there was a charge because it doesn't matter to us - we just want to get there. Thank you so much possum52 - I did email one of the people in the link you sent.
  3. I've searched everywhere I can think of but can't find the info I need so thought I would try here. We are going to New Plymouth next year on a world cruise and would like to just walk the town rather than take an excursion. I'm trying to find out how far town is from the port and if there is any sort of transportation if it's more than a mile from the port. Thank you for any info

  6. If there is a separate forum for VISAs please advise but I could not find one. I applied using the app on my phone for both Australia and New Zealand. Pretty easy to use. Both were approved within 24 hours. The problem is that for New Zealand it says I can now arrive through Auckland International airport😵 I have no idea what I did wrong. I've DM'd them but have not heard back. I have plenty of time to fix this but I have no idea what to do. If anyone knows what I did wrong I'd appreciate know so I can start over. Thank you so much.

  8. We have our first cruise on RCL coming up in about a month. I've been getting emails and have completed the check-in on line. I did print out the boarding passes. The hard copy says the digital boarding passes are ready in the app. Also, the most recent email said I need to complete the health questionnaire on the app. I've looked at that thing multiple times on different days and there is nothing there - neither the digital boarding passes nor the health questionnaire. The email, or maybe it was when I completed the check-in on-line, said I need to complete the health questionnaire the day before. Does this show up on the app then? Does the digital boarding pass show up at that time? I'm very confused. Any assistance would be appreciated. Should I delete the app and start over? Should I call RCI? Thanks
  9. (sigh). We don’t eat in specialty restaurants but are going with friends and they want to. We have a ton on OBC so we are paying for this. Had a problem with booking using Dine My Way so had to talk with ‘a navagator’ and I advised her we have OBC to use and don’t want this charged to a credit card. (lots of snark coming up). No big surprise as soon as I hung up I got the charge. I called back and was told we have to cancel the reservation. WHAT!!! No there has to be another way. So she says to contact Ocean Front. I said nope that’s not what they do. So I hung up. I’m guessing I can go to guest services and have this fixed but wanted to confirm if there’s anything else. Thanks

  12. I apologize if these have been asked before. I tried to find the answers but could not We are not new to cruising (have over 40 cruises = mostly with Princess) but we have booked the Navigator of the Seas for October so I have some questions. 1. Generally speaking what time can you access the cabins? I know I have to select a time to arrive and we generally get a late arrival = 12:30 - 1:00. Will cabins be ready then? 2. Regarding Beverage Package - I'm trying to decide if we should purchase one. I'm basing the prices below on Princess. Below is what one of us would get a cappuccino in the morning (does the ship have someplace to get one or do we need to go to Starbucks, and I know the beverage package isn't accepted there - about $6? a couple of sodas during the day - $6? a couple of bottles of water a day - $6? a couple of adult beverages a day - maybe $25? First - are these prices about correct if purchased separately, including tip (Princess charges 18% so I'm guessing RC is the same but maybe not)? thank you for any insight and anything else anyone wants to add because, like I said, we are new to Royal Caribbean.
  13. I really do think people need to get on social media and ask someone from Princess about this. I'm not saying it will change but it makes more people aware of it. And I'm going to keep asking on FB, twitter and Instagram until someone answers to tell me to shut up and go away😀
  14. I know this topic has been beaten to death but wanted to add my 2 cents. I'm a big believer is letting a company know when I'm happy or not happy. I've called and 'chatted' with princess and they both confirmed our current Plus package does not cover the option to order drinks/food from OceanNow. My guess it will be the same with the 'casual' dining options (we don't use them so I didn't specifically ask) I just posted to Princess Instagram - not a DM but to one of their posts - asking why those of us who have already purchased the Plus package are not grandfathered in. I also mentioned we have spent tens of thousands of dollars for cruises and clearly loyalty is not important to them (which I firmly believe is true. And yes, I know, if I don't like Princess I can move elsewhere but that's not the point). I told them we have 40 cruises with them including 2 world cruises booked. I said this is nothing but Greed. It doesn't hurt to be more public with our concerns and unhappiness with Princess. Maybe people on Instagram aren't aware of this new policy so this is also a public service announcement for them🙂

  17. We are sailing with a couple who don't cruise much and she wants to play Bingo. I've never played on a ship so my question is - can you use OBC or do you need to bring cash? Thanks
  18. I think the only thing we can do is flood Princess with complaints although I don't think it will make any difference. Go to Instagram and Twitter and complain so others will see the probem. Send DMs to them. Again, I don't think they give a crap (can I say that word here?😁) they didn't respond after my first 'complaint' but it didn't stop me from complaining more. But yes, my TA was able to get the cabins booked we wanted so hopefully people will reach out to a TA.
  19. Thank you for your comments!!! This is helpful🙂 Because of my husband's motion sickness we book balcony and either mid-ship or mid-foward on the lowest possible deck. I've received some emails for new sailings and even with the selection of balcony mid-ship or mid-forward all cabins, except for literally maybe 2 on deck 9 - were guarantee only. If we see anything we might be interested in I'll contact our travel agent and see if she can get any info for us. thank you again - really appreciate the responses
  20. I had written them saying it was frustrating to not be able to select a cabin and that because of my husband's motion sickness we can’t have any cabin. They responded and said if I need help to call them. So then I responded and said I want to be able to see what cabins are available for any cruises we might be interested in. I want to see things before we make a decision. And I was curious why most cabins are guarantee only and not open like they used to be. They responded: We understand. In December Princess made all lead-in categories by meta (and select sub-meta). Guarantee only (IF,BF,MF, etc). If you are selecting a category other than lead-in, it will show what is available. It may be on those sailings, only the Guaranteed cabin categories are available. If you ever need assistance or would like us to check availability feel free to IM them I wrote back – thanks for responding but I have no idea what this means and I’m pretty sure not many people will. Whatever the changes are it kinda sucks and I feel like it will be way too much effort on my part to book a cruise like I used to. I still don’t understand why I can’t just find a cruise we want and book it without jumping through a bunch of hoops. We will have to re-think future cruises with princess. But it’s been real😊 Maybe others know what the heck Meta and sub-meta mean but I sure don't I think this was the definition of a 'non answer'

  22. Hi - we have a question on Lanzarote. You said the bus goes "up and down and around and around" Are these sharps curves or gentle ones? My husband has extreme motion sickness and we can do gentle curves but not sharp ones. Thanks!!
  23. Since your cruise is coming to an end I wanted to THANK YOU for bringing us along!! My husband and I looked forward to each of your postings - I would read them out loud every time one was posed. We loved that you wrote so much about each port and I'm sure no one got tired of your 'novels' as you called them:😄 You are an excellent writer - you really know how to tell a story!! And you're funny!!! And you did so much research for each port. Each posting was amazing!! And your photos were beautiful!! We are on the 2024 WC after having 2021 and 2022 cancelled. We have learned so much about the ports and what to expect. We never would have guessed you would miss so many ports so now we are prepared if that happens - won't be happy but know that it can, and probably will happen. Thank you again and I'll definitely look for more We-like-to-cruise postings in the future
