  1. NCL allows you to search as a solo traveller so you get the price for solo wether it’s a solo cabin or not. My upcoming TA is on a ship that doesn’t have solo cabins but there is no single supplement. sometimes solo cabins are more expensive than a larger interior cabin if there is no singles supplement on that itinerary.
  2. Also people do cancel or change their minds on excursions. A provider may be able to handle increased capacity and that might reflect in spots becoming available etc.
  3. Lashes and bold lipsticks takes almost no room. Honestly every evening I got dressed for dinner and it looked better than many for “chic night”.
  4. I NEVER travel without extended coverage. Will your basic insurance cover the air rescue or search and rescue? I travel enough to warrant annual coverage and including trip interruption etc it’s such a small cost compared to a cruise I say just do it. If you can’t afford the insurance then you can’t afford the trip. Talk to your provider and make sure you are covered or ask if there is a top up.
  5. Mmmm this is a public platform. Keep in mind not all influencers include parts of their personal life. I am an all be it very small influencer but don’t really share my personal life on social media and I don’t even use Facebook. I don’t spend hours on my platform either. Not all influencers are the same.
  6. We aren’t open to the public but have over 100 stores that carry our yarn and threads. The shop in cobourg was a customer for several years. Toronto on the May long weekend this year will be the place to be. Which reminds me I need to put in my teaching applications soon. My TA this December I am taking in order to start writing my first book. It should be a fun one for any stitchers on this board for sure.
  7. I am really surprised the only option was to unsubscribe from everything. Other companies give you the option to receive less emails sometimes which I would have done. Send me at most one email a week and I would have stayed but daily emails drive me bonkers.
  8. Easiest definition of influencer is someone who gets paid for their social media work. That can be in cash or free stuff.
  9. Finding yarn and fabric stores in port is an essential part of cruising for me. Let me introduce my actual self, I’m the owner of Trailhead Yarns lol.
  10. Wow that’s really reasonable. In Canada it’s 3 times that price. It’s gotten out of control and our plans are already some of the most expensive in the world.
  11. That’s why everyone I knows uses WhatsApp. My ex and I never actually used SMS because half the time at least one of us was out of country, we just used WhatsApp. If I’m out of country or might be just text me on WhatsApp. OP doesn’t mention how many days in port her TA may have. If their are 3 port days in addition to the days in Barcelona then it adds up quick if she plans on paying 10$ a day for her phone.
  12. Data security is also why you don’t see wifi as much in Europe.
  13. Tried to add it for my cruise this December but it turns out it can only be done before final payment. Half my flights are already booked but since I upgraded to FAS after final payment I thought I’d try getting a better deal on my flight, no luck. All is good however since I just upgraded my cabin including adding FAS for $62 CAD.
  14. Thank you. I use to operate an eco tourism company in a national park in Canada and live within the boundaries of the park as well. As you said just pay the fee and support the park/forest.
  15. That’s a huge plus for me. I might need my next NCL cruise to be in a studio cabin.
  16. I think comes down to if your using your phone for 2 days or less than just pay the travel fee per day. If your going to use it 3 or more days including while in port and money isn’t a concern then use your usual plan. If you rather save some money and your phone has dual sim then get the Esim card from Europe. For some countries you can order online ahead of time and install before leaving home or also some airports have them in vending machines etc. but for the OP I would recommend having help setting it up before leaving home.
  17. Hahaha you know it. I also get a US pay as you Esim card for my travel.
  18. I personally would rather spend 20$ and have access to data for the days before my cruise as well as all my European port days. However I travel solo and don’t like carrying maps or anything so I depend on my phone a lot if I’m visiting ports outside an excursion.
  19. Solo cabins are also on newer ships which are usually more expensive.
  20. I don’t know all the technicalities but it’s a National Forest. A taxi would be a commercial vehicle so it may be subject to additional fees. If your 2 or more people though the taxi price seems equal or less than the tour operators and it’s a more comfortable ride.
  21. Yes because you also pay for the park fees etc. they have to enter the national forest in order to drop you off.
  22. I contacted a taxi and there was a ton of different parts to what they charge. Pricing was complicated but upfront.
  23. You can also buy a sim or Esim card for Europe. I know this may be well beyond your tech comprehension but it’s basically getting a European phone number for cheaper than North American plans. what kind of phones do you have?
  24. I’m doing a TA on Gem which doesn’t have solo cabins but because this cruise doesn’t have a singles supplement it seems there will be a lot of singles. Looking forward to the NCL experience of being a solo friendly line. Last year I cruised on Celebrity without a singles supplement but now I am not willing to pay double so I’m trying NCL.
  25. My friend did a month in Europe with her 9 month old and loved it. Now that he is older travel has became very difficult so she’s glad she snuck a trip in while it was easier. One thing don’t forget to bring medication for your little one for a variety of potential illnesses. The last thing you need to deal with when you have a sick kid is finding medication that is different than you are use to with different dosages marked in another language. Civitavechia to Rome is a 47 minute train ride away (plus a shuttle from the port to the train station) so not a huge deal. Trains are such a way of life in Europe and don’t require a car seat. Make sure you pack smart and as hands free as possible however because you have to carry your stuff up and down a few stairs though which will be harder when carrying a child.
