Kristoff is supposed to take over sometime in April. I had been wondering if he would be on for our April 3rd cruise but the activities in the app clearly list Cole. I would suspect he will be leaving at the end our our cruise which ends on April 13.

Thanks again. I think I misunderstood your "on our cruise" comment, but you got my gist.

Not on the ship but Cole is indeed the current CD. He is listed as still being on for our upcoming cruise on April 3rd.

Thanks, Thrak. Although I will not be on your cruise, I will be on the 3/16 cruise. The app shows Kristoff, but the CC thread shows Cole. It's all good..it's not the CD I've had for my previous cruises on Discovery.

Many, many people frequently and erroneously equate the Plus or Premier Cruise Packages with the Plus or Premier Beverage Packages.

The Cruise packages includes the corresponding alcohol beverage package for those of age to drink booze on whatever itinerary - 21 out of US. If under 21, it only includes Zero Proof package, ie non-alcoholic beverage package.

It's very very likely the OP, and the cruiser in question, made the same assumption, ie bought the Plus Cruise Package and referring to it as a beverage package - as the vast majority do on the various Princess forums.

No, Princess did not erroneously sell an alcoholic beverage package to a "minor" as far as legal drinking age. The system doesn't work that way..

    Thank you for the clarification.

  4. Read all the comments, but I don't see any mention of the OP's statement of, "The women are both from the UK and the under 21 woman lamented that despite having a drink package, the crew on Discovery Princess would not serve her alcohol because she was “underage”. "

Did Princess sell an underage person a drink package? That's another question in my mind. Alcohol or soda? Not clear to me.

I have a family of four going.  Would it be better if we got a cabana in the Sanctuary?  I don't know what the pricing would be for the family on a daily basis.

Pricing is per cabana, not per person. I believe it's $100/half day. A very nice option with the cabana and the two lounge chairs immediately in front of it included.

  6. I ate at the Crab Shack on Discovery this past November. It was in the Salty Dog as mentioned, at dinnertime, and it was delicious. The best meal I've had on any cruise. Will be comparing it to The Catch this March.

Mine showed me.  There is a spreadsheet and beside each name it shows things like the dining time and packages purchased etc.  also there was a code by each name, mine was a "Q".  If I were guessing, that code is probably an indicator of the fare paid, just as it is for airlines...but I didn't ask my Stew

Thanks for responding, but doesn’t apply here.

I apologize if you think I was rude. I reread my response and in no way do I see any resemblance to "vitriol". I was just trying to guess why you asked the question as was everyone else.
Usually posters give a reason as to why they are asking a question.
Usually when someone asks a question, they are polite enough to stay on the site long enough to respond to those who attempt to assist.
Your post was not "usual" nor was your lack of follow through.
You appear to be absolutely seething. Why are you so angry? If you believe that things are none of our business, then why on earth are you on a social media site?
Take a deep breath and let it go.

Vitirol was inclusive, not directed at you specifically, but your point it taken. Ouch, feel better?

  9. Finished reading through the responses to my post. Isn't this site supposed to be a supportive place for cruise questions? My inquiry wasn't extreme, repetitive, accusatory, inflammatory or the like. I didn't respond immediately...apparently that's noticed and if not done so it warrants criticism? It's no one's business why I asked or didn't respond to everyone's satisfaction. My cabin wasn't comped @hllwdcruiser--I cruised solo and paid double. The vitriol is unnecessary and rude.

While on the cruise, did you find out if the cabin steward know/find out how you made the purchase?

I didn't ask him. I might have if he didn't seem so overwhelmed and I'll leave that comment there.

If it was the steward who saw me and remembered me from a few months ago and had been promoted I should have, but didn't think to do so. Maybe on my March cruise.

No, you have to check the box below the body text area. At least this is the case on a desktop PC as well as on my android phone...both using Chrome.

@Rick&JeannieI did "follow" the thread, but don't need to announce that I'm doing so. Plus, I cruised after my question. Good golly, forgive those of us that don't respond instantly.

  12. 1. You state you've had the Princess (assuming Barclay's) credit card for several years now so you should know what they offer. Is your credit card not Barclay's?

    2. Currently they do offer double points if using their credit card for Princess purchases.

ETA: Double points only apply toward Princess purchases. If you used the credit card for another cruise line it's 1:1.

  13. I was on a Discovery Princess CA Coast cruise the week of 11/4 this year. One night I went to the MDR and ordered the filet and lobster ($30 additional charge) for my main. The filet was cooked to perfection! Unfortunately, it lacked seasoning and even the drawn butter was flavorless. The lobster was overcooked. Funny to me was the waiter seemed happy to tell me the lobster was from Brazil and all I heard in my head was "frozen-defrosted."

  14. There's no age group...it's for all single and solo cruisers.Check the Princess Patter or whatever the new name is now for times and days.

And all ages, including "old ladies" are welcome. I always find people of all ages together are great conversations. Everyone learns something new.
