cheetorevil....I had already searched (and searched and searched finding a great deal of contadictory info and no info whatsoever on some of my questions)

Thanks Kiwi....yes it is on the Enchanted Princess and I appreciate the comments about the balcony. I had looked at 726 on a video I had found but it was hard to determine if the balcony was shaded or not in that video.

Good to know that a comped cruise gets all the benefits as well 🙂

I've already booked each of Catch, Sabatini's and Crown Grill so now I know to do the 360 experience too !

Okay, thank you. I can live with two decks below. Is the smoking the entire aft or off to one side? Do you happen to know what the large blank space on middle of 15 is?

Smoking is the entire aft of that deck.

I looked at several decks around what I think you mean the "middle" re: the blank space and maybe it's housekeeping?

Sorry @Cruise Raidersorry the responses segued your report. @westcoastBCplease start another thread with your questions.

That's the amount, but some are under the fish. I think you could ask for an extra plate of fries, if desired. Tonight is escargot and lobster night so save room

Thank you and yes, you're right! Re: the escargot...ugh, but maybe I would give it a shot, but not sure (texture in the way it is served). Lobster for sure. Hope you have/had a great meal!

What ship are you sailing on?  I have been in D727 on a few Royal class ships.  The balcony is excellent; largest on the ship I think.  It has a bit of cover, depending on the time of day and the direction of the ship. Often, sunbathing should be no problem; you might have to move your lounger around a bit, which is no problem as I feel that balcony is big enough for 15 or 20 loungers. 🙂  You do get all the same suite perks with the casino comped cruise.  Priority embarkation, special dinner seating, etc. as noted on the website.  The 360 experience is only on the Enchanted and Discovery.  Suites will be getting an automatic invitation, and besides some casino perks, it was not open to the public until it finished the beta testing.  When I was on the Enchanted two weeks ago, they were rolling out the 360 to the public at the end of my cruise (Oct. 14th), for a price of $150 each.  It was a very cool experience, and delicious.  A small group of about 20 people, in the round with immersion effects, videos and multiple courses.  Honestly, I think that The Catch by Rudy was better for me (Dover sole was amazing) since I don't drink and there was a specialty cocktail pairing with every dish at the 360.

Re: the 360 cocktail pairing, on the Discovery it was strictly wine and not the best IMO. Although, I have heard from others that they like the choices. Again, subjective to taste.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer. I was most interested about the aft areas. I took a leap and booked the aft cabin on 15 and was looking at the deck plan and there is a large blank space in the middle. Last time on the ship I remember there being a large smoking area but as a non smoker I didn’t pay attention. I really am hoping it is not on 15 ,if it is I will need to rebook quickly.

    Anyone know for sure?

If you're talking about the Discovery then only deck 17 aft for outside areas ("legal" ones if you get my drift). You might get residual smoke floating upwards on your balcony so keep that in mind when you're on your balcony.

I am sure this has been asked and answered but could you please tell me where the smoking areas are?

    much appreciated .

Through a Google search, the aft of deck 17, the casino and Churchill's, although I think the latter is being converted into an arcade. Someone will be able to confirm.

If it's Royal, I hope they keep a smaller ship in SF, for variety. I think NCL Bliss is moving away from LA too, since I saw it on a European itinerary, so perhaps the Joy will replace it. I dislike the Konigsdam for HAL out of San Diego, too large and without a wraparound promenade, so I hope HAL will also shake things up with a smaller ship. I'm going to try the new Carnival Firenze out of Long Beach next December, which will also year-round Cabo and 4-night itineraries, which will make 3 Carnival ships and hopefully keep prices lower on the ones out of San Pedro. Celebrity is already giving up on Mexico, which is a shame, because most of my cruises out of San Pedro were at under 50% occupancy, with some bargain fares, even under $250 for some 6-night ones through December, when they leave for good.

The Bliss won’t be leaving soon, if it does. I have two cruises booked out of San Pedro on it in October ‘24 and February ‘25.

I can't remember, does Princess have a sandwich making station on the buffet?  Maybe we can all get our favorites made there?

I don't know about a sandwich making station, but I recall the Discovery had plenty of things to make sandwiches with. I'll be on her two weeks from tomorrow and plan to check it out. We'll see how "cheffy" I become.

At IC you order a sandwich and they bake it in their oven. You won't get one from display, they come from the kitchen behind. And this is what came out. I was a little surprised as well. I had much much better Cubanas on Princess ships.

Yes, completely understand. I've had hit and miss in South Florida of all places!

Yes, I know that, just like the cookies at McDonald's in their case, but even their food displays don't entice me. Isn't that the point of a display case (or a commercial)? Maybe not so much...cruisers will bypass the included food. Can't figure Princess out.

I'm not really sure the mattresses we had on the Discovery were worn out, the ship is too new and the mattresses felt too hard to be old and worn out. I think they are just cheap, rock hard mattresses, not the famous Princess mattresses. Perhaps they just couldn't get the correct ones when they outfitted the ship, so they had to use whatever they could get and bought them in bulk from the lumber department at Lowes or Home Depot ;o)

I've been on that ship twice and didn't think the mattresses were lacking. My first Princess cruise was 10/21 on the Grand and I slept great, aside from weather issues.

I'll do my own "investigative" work when I'm on Discovery in a couple of weeks. And when I say investigative, it will be based on how I sleep less any alcohol impact. 🙂

Hang in there HiCCCs, we were about 20 hours from our start and our  upgrade came through. We were very surprised. We’re sitting in our room now getting ready to go to Crown Grill for first night “no cover charge” dinner. 😀

So your cabin was upgraded AND that included a "no cover charge" dinner? Do tell.

You're absolutely right. 1st photo was on the Regal in November. Not enough melted cheese and mayo. Different ships, different variations of everything, even the standard items.

But still better than a plain ham & cheese sandwich which you get now.

Would like to know if the #6 picture is before all of the cutbacks in quality. I would never get the sandwich you posted--it almost looks like roast beef lunchmeat. I still love Princess, but so many of their decisions alienate loyal customers and I struggle to figure out how they're enticing new ones.
