  1. Geo Blue is mostly coverage for medical issues/expenses only. They throw in some coverage maybe for baggage. Whereas trip insurance is to cover your actual trip expenses for the most part and a bit of overlap with Geo Blue. So Geo Blue does not include cruise costs, airfare, etc therefore they don’t ask about total trip costs.
  2. It just amazes me what some people get bent all out of shape on here.
  3. Actually I just place it on the table when I sit down. Waiter immediately knows what im wanting and will get the wine list and wine steward on notice. It doesn’t even break the flow!! Someone else had mentioned that as reason for disliking showing a card. I really have no idea what they were referring to….
  4. Well I guess you had a wonderful 50 cruise ride…..
  5. Seems to me you have hijacked your own thread simply because of someone’s desire for a second wifi??
  6. The SM package is the House Select, which is the lower priced package. Honestly, I believe the wines by glass are the same under both packages.
  7. It is not just one red etc per day. There were about 35 selections on the list to choose from. We did not have a problem finding something to our liking. But then again, I would say we are not overly picky on wines as long as it is dry.
  8. Ours went up by $90 per person. But we gained the $800 SBC for excursions and the second Wi-Fi…..we do a mix of shore excursions and dyi….so it worked out well for us on this particular cruise. On another one we will probably not change as we purchased it under the 20th Anniversary promo and while we would still be a couple of hundred dollars ahead, we like the flexibility of the SBC with the anniversary sale. So, as everything there is not always an always encompassing answer. It will vary by cruise and you just have to be willing to do the research and then make a decision best for you.
  9. You can upgrade an existing booking to the Simply More with the noted amenities. If you don’t want the air, you still get the new SimplyMore amenities. Your cost will be what shows on their website as the Promotional fare without air column. I just upgraded an existing booking yesterday and for me it worked out much to my advantage.
  10. I was just able to upgrade to SM on a previously booked cruise! Hopefully goes as smoothly for you as it did for me.
  11. With regard to the YWC I believe the minimum required is based upon the # of port days and not the actual cruise length.
  12. Per call with my Oceania Rep the minimum still applies. For my 10 day cruise I just upgraded to Simply More, the minimum is 5 and any excursion purchased using the SM Shore Excursions credit applies to the minimum just as in the past with OLife
  13. Haven’t we always had that freedom? So really nothing new. For years I refused to do cruises. Everyone has always had preferences, even before SimplyMore
  14. So you are saying on your cruise that you booked prior to SM, you were not receiving a 25% discount if you booked the required minimum number of excursions??
  15. Well I just received my updated Invoice and my new price after converting to SimplyMore is exactly as I calculated above. So for $90 more person we have received $800 SBC for the stateroom and the 2nd Wi-Fi. Our prior price already included the House Beverage package which we had selected under OLife. As we use a combination of cruise shore excursions and on our own it works out great. So, for us, on this particular cruise, Simply More was indeed SimplyMore! All done.
  16. They did in our recent Vista cruise in Martinis with the pianist.
  17. Well actually the 20% makes it even an easier choice to upgrade if you so desire.
  18. I really don’t see in the Terms and Conditions that it states the credit can be used in ANY excursion. In their roll out announcements they say that but yet in the T and C, nothing. So, which is it? Just wait some more until THEY figure it out. Just a bit frustrating. Again, don’t roll it out if you are not ready. JMHO
  19. I really don’t understand this it will take a bit of time to be sorted out thinking, sorry. I love Oceania cruises but wow they have serious issues with customer service and their system. You simply should not roll out a program if your system is no way capable of handling it. If not, then you delay the roll out until the IT department can get it running properly to handle the updates and have your website information updated to match the new program. That is what testing is all about before system updates.
  20. I believe he is referring to Post 316 in the Simply More impact on bookings thread.
  21. How about a heating pad with an automatic shutoff? I called before a recent cruise because it was really not clear on the website as I have cranky back at times. When I called they just said no, not allowed. Luckily I did not have a need for it but just curios if others have taken one or had issues trying to take one onboard.
  22. Never been on Cunard but it would also seem to mean kids too!! I see they have specific children activity centers and programs. I’m sorry….that is a deal breaker for me. I saw someone else note that hey kids are great but absolutely no desire to vacation with someone else’s kids. Same applies to all inclusive resorts…..
  23. Agree and I noted back that it was no biggie. I was simply responding to a specific question I was asked. I’m good.
  24. Oh, I know. It just seems a bit too good to be accurate!! 🤣
  25. I guess now the question is are we actually allowed to upgrade to the SimplyMore package? It was said we would have the option to do so but I have not heard of anyone that has actually done it yet or see it addressed on their website.
