Specific MDR recommendations for my cruise
villageidit replied to HappyTexan44's topic in Royal Caribbean International
The burrito I had was the same on Explorer last year. Didn't resemble any burrito I've had in my life. Most of my life spent near the southern border so I've tried quite a variety. -
We had D225 on the Majestic and it was 50/50. Very nice balcony though.

My wife is a minimum bet type of slot player. The kind that wins a little and loses a little. Keeps it up until her initial money is gone. This can be several hours of play. She then "reinvests" puts more money in to keep playing. Like I said usually up to $500 a cruise. She has spent up to $700 on longer cruises though. She doesn't spend on jewelry. fancy purses or clothes though. Saves her money to spend at the casino. I see the same players as you who lose thousands. My friend is one of them.

This is why my wife earns some great offers. Rarely spends more than $400 - $500 on slots but keeps that money going all cruise. Racks up points by keeping that money in play.

Not much, just had to wait for the second shuttle to pull up. Only took an extra ten minutes or so. The parking garage is close to the port.
-
Plus 1 for Premier parking. No issues using them in the past. Just booked them for my cruise in January. Might be slow loading the first shuttles of the day as the line can be long but you'll get to the port.

He was the cruise director on our Explorer TA back in April. The zumba classes he did on the promenade were great.

I don't know but you could try searching videos on Youtube etc that might answer the question. Hope you get the information you are looking for.

The photo took a lot of tries to get right. Would have been easier if I could have figured a way to switch camera lenses. Trying to help my wife take the selfie photo was nearly impossible, wish I could have just taken the picture normally. Eventually got them done. Someone recommended doing them outside in sunlight.

Depends on the ports for your cruise. Ports like Malaga, Cartagena, Ajaccio (Corsica) there is much to see and do near the dock. You can easily walk off the ship and do most sights on your own. In Barcelona the port is slightly further from the main tourist areas. If you book the disembarkation tour in Rome for the Vatican and Coliseum with airport drop off be prepared for a rushed day. We had approximately 10 min inside St Peters after an hour wait in line. Then a tardy passenger almost cost us the stop at the coliseum. Practically had to run from the bus to the coliseum to make our entry window. It worked out though and we enjoyed our time there.

which floor of the casino is the smoking casino
villageidit replied to irish2005's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I really enjoy the smoke free tribal casinos. So much cleaner and better smelling than before. Smoke free also comes with reduced cleaning costs. -
Explorer of the Seas- is it as bad as reviews say?
villageidit replied to dg33's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Did a TA back in April/May on Explorer. Enjoyed the cruise. MDR staff was fantastic. Not all the bells and whistles but comfortable. Would book this ship again. -
Depending on the embarkation port of the cruise you book consider getting a mobility scooter for the cruise. Other cruisers have reported good results with small rental scooters that are delivered either to the port or your cabin. I haven't done this but someone who has will hopefully provide more information. This might your husband move more easily around the ship.

Princess Cruises - Soft Drink Options
villageidit replied to maei0's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
Just shows as $23 on my cruise planner. Doesn't mention AUD or USD. When you click on details it states the price is $23 AUD including a service charge or $14.99 USD plus 18% gratuity for USA based cruises. Frustrating -

Still shows at 23 AUD on mine. I did have an issue where they charged me $23 USD for the package. They couldn't understand the problem and I canceled it. Trying to get it rebooked at the correct price. -
Princess Land Tour Advice Needed Pls
villageidit replied to Worldtraveler 4727's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
From what I've read you are given tags your first night for the luggage going directly to the ship. These bags are stored and then delivered to the ship. -

I'm planning on buying soft non wheeled carryon bags for this reason. This way they can squish to whatever size needed. I'll save on weight as well for a bonus. -
We live in small town west of Knoxville. We tried to get appointments in Atlanta as well. None to be had because of covid. Applied at the court house and it all went smooth. Fortunately we didn't make any travel plans until we had our new passports.

https://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/deckplans/popup-deckpics.php?r=26674 This is a link to a picture of the outdoor space for Jamie's. It appears to be almost fully enclosed which would help with noise. I don't have any personal knowledge of the cabin but you could try looking for reviews on youtube. Good luck -
Using Smartphones when at sea (new but also old issue?)
villageidit replied to Pylon's topic in Princess Cruises
I have an android also (Samsung S23) I just double checked and I was sending and receiving texts over wifi on my last cruise. I have AT&T as a carrier and we were in the middle of the Atlantic so no chance of a stray connection to a land cell tower. YMMV -
Ocean balcony, which side to pick?
villageidit replied to sarahsentry's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We enjoyed our port side balcony on Oasis earlier this year. It was a western Caribbean cruise as well. -
If you want to do this I would drop your bags with a porter and then Uber/taxi to where you want to go. Space Needle and Pike Place Market are several miles away. I don't recall anything interesting near the pier in Seattle.
