I keep my punched S&S card and an expired drivers license around my neck. I just flash them up and they smile and pass you through!
-
I live in Michigan and just received my "enhanced license". I had to fill out a special form and to provide my passport. I was told I could pass through the border, board planes and travel to American territories with this license.
-
For the last dozen cruises I keep my sail card and my newest old license hooked around my neck. I just hold up the 2 cards and have been able to pass through every security so far.

We stayed at The San Juan Water and Beach Club for 2 days on Nov 9th and Nov 11. Right on the beach and fully operational. Called on landline direct to the hotel and got reservations.

Curious about sailing times. From several articles I've read the ports around the island are open for daylight traffic. With the cruise ships leaving at night in the dark will they have to wait until the channel is cleared by some? authority or would they possibly change departure times?

Ooh, I love this idea!!!! Can you provide more info? As you got them a few years ago, I am sure they are no longer at Target. However, if you provide a manufacturer name, I may find on eBay. Any info you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
CruiseGal-it's called a "spring float papasan". Still try Target, Walmart and Amazon. I could have paid for a cruise by the number of people that wanted to buy it! Best extra purchase ever!

I like to bring a pack of hanging car air fresheners, just tie one in each closet before unpacking. A collapsible clothes hamper is handy also.
-
A couple of years ago I bought several collapsible papazan chairs. They store in the shape and size of a frisbee. They fit in the pocket of your luggage great and when you take them out they spring open to the size of a hula hoop with a mesh seat attached. For any beach or excursion they are great. I got mine at Target.

I was curious about the grand mariner because last year on the Liberty we were informed that the bar no longer stocked it. Here's hoping!
-
Where are the 24hour coffee stations located? Also do you know where the smoking areas are? Finally, do you know if you can get a margarita with a grand mariner float???

I booked my fifth straight San Juan cruise for November 13 in February. I have early saver and the cruise is now $220 more. I like to book my own flights. I just watch for sale alerts.A lot of the hotels consider the Thanksgiving week the beginning of the high season, so prices are good. The weather is perfect and the water is still summer warm! Absolutely my favorite itinerary.

After years of sailing on all different ships it's fun to see the same characters on each cruise. The entitled person, the constant complainer, the very loud person and so on and so forth. It almost like a game, make a list and cross off when you find them. You're more then likely to finish your list on every cruise. Like the title says "same people-different ship".
-
Now I've seen it all. First it was reverse snobbery. That's when people in lower category cabins are angry that suite passengers get priority boarding, and now, an espresso/coffee machine.
Now it's "Cardism" (Card Racism). Where you judge someone based on the color of their card. What's next? The formation of the CCC (Card Clux Clan) where blue and red card holders have a separate dining room and public bathroom and separate iced tea/lemonade and ice cream machines. :) They may go as far as burning Funship Freddie dolls on people's balconies. ;)
This is said in jest with a strong ring of truth to it.
Take care,
Mike
Honored, I have met the Jester Master!

Upon reading these conversations, I find it strange that in this day in time, someone is still worrying about the "color" of something. People on a cruise are your fellow cruisers, no matter what color---their cards are. Enjoy your cruise and smile as they enjoy thelrs

Just booked a side balcony room for November 13. This will be my fifth
straight time doing this tour. Victory,Valor,Valor,Liberty and now the
Fascination. My questions are, do the balcony rooms have a refrigerator?
And is there a place to sit at the very back of the ship looking out over the ocean? Thanks

We are in San Juan!!!
pauleydm, curious as to what dock did they put in at?
-
Pauley, thank you again for your reports on the situation with the Liberty as they unfolded. I'm sure people with family and friends aboard appreciated the calm and informative comments. Thinking ahead, when you're home and you're remembering your cruise maybe you could start a thread on what things worked really well and what not so much! Things you would do different and what would bring now "just in case". Again thanks!

Your list is correct, those cabins open in the right direction. Have done it twice, once in the correct order and once with alittle scooting a chair around when they gave us the wrong setup! You can make anything work with the right cabin attendant!
-
I've done the turtle cove cat. It's very nice and relaxing. But if I'm not mistaken the other tour is not on a catamaran but a dive boat.
-
Thanks,I think I spoke too soon. The price went up by $100 since I posted. I should have booked it and risked it at the time.
At the price difference maybe you could book a great night in San Juan and leave anytime the next day!
-
Yep, I take mine everywhere. I love love taking pictures with it. I can get huge shots of something that I just can't seem to get with my other cameras.
-
Please share your experience golfing at Mahogany Run in St Thomas through the ship. Is it worth the time and money? Thanks, queeniemi

Interested in what was ordered that you thought had no wow factor and if you could do a redo what would order? Stacy

I was wondering about asking for an additional chair myself. There will be 5 of us in 2 cabins (side by side with the partition between balconies open) There will be a standard of 4 chairs with 2 tables. If we ask, will they provide an additional chair for us all to sit out there together?
Absolutely.
I wanna be first !

People only do what you allow them to do in your personal space. Congratulations to the young man who reminded her she wasn't invited into his space, Bravo!
