  1. I have noticed this and I think it is because many of the cruisers are in fact interested in this. It is what it is. I found it odd to read they sell shots at dinner. It is a bit different atmosphere.

However I found this thread informative and appreciate the tips I learned, because I too am one of the ones interested in this.

Not so unusual Royal does this also, I have a whole set from Adventure of the sea.

  2. Hi there, let's see how much I remember. We went last Nov and are going again this Nov. We leave our hotel around noon and are on the boat about 1:30. That's with some shopping for refreshments at the port store!! Lunch on the Lido deck and a quick stroll around and the rooms are ready around 2:30. Drop off carry ons, grab an empty carry on bag and hop off the ship. Stroll around town stopping at Walgreens for last minute can't live with outs. Back to ship stopping again for refreshment stash. You need to be back by 8:30 if I remember right so you won't miss your lifeboat drill?? You use the same gangway you used when you originally boarded. Drop off our goodies then head for dinner at open seating in the dining room. Back to the room for a drink and the announcement of the drill. The sail off party starts as soon as the drill ends. HAVE a ball, life's short enjoy every minute!!!

  3. We've done San Juan the last 2 years in November on the Victory and Valor. I just booked the Valor again for this November. It was always in the 80's and never seemed to rained a drop! Best of all the water temps are still perfect from summer. Ports aren't crowded and neither does it seem are the ships. The itinerary is a great mixture of islands it's my favorite cruise!!!

  4. Sailing for over 20 years I pick where I want to go then look for ships. I look for perks like ports, liquor accumulation and adjoining balconies that can be opened up to party large. Two years ago I had to be in Puerto Rico, leave on a Sunday because of a race and wallah the Valor! Had such a blast just booked it again for the third year in a row. Like I said I want what I want when I want it. The cruise having everything I wanted is just a fabulous bonus.
