  1. Me! We have a group of 10 celebrating my hubby’s 70th, can’t wait! 🤞🤞🤞
  2. Me! We have a group of 10 celebrating my hubby’s 70th, can’t wait! 🤞🤞🤞
  3. Thank you chengkp75 for sharing your expertise! Hopefully there are no surprises, things seem to look really good for my New Years cruise but it will remain a question until she is heading South with her funnel intact. 🤞🤞🤞 More pictures were posted today, evidentially one of my fellow cruisers is on the ground in Portland.
  4. Wow, she is already out of the water! It’s looking better every day for the Holiday cruises.
  5. I checked and the posts said St Helens and Kalama. I am not sure about the one that shows Panorama approaching a bridge, that was from a video on John Heald’s Facebook page. The video was really cool!
  6. She made it safely to Portland and according to John Heald Christmas will be celebrated on board, yay! Here are some shots of the Panorama sailing up the Columbia River, not something anyone excepted for her to do. I think Carnival deserves some recognition for getting it done.
  7. The Panorama is in the Columbia River and everything seems to be going well. The pic is downtown Astoria as she passed before dawn this morning, you can see her stubby tail. The Ship Report Facebook page posted a video of her passing under the first bridge she couldn’t pass under before removing her whale tail. It’s amazing but I couldn’t find a way to post it here.
  8. Wine pairings every course would be excellent! My friend and I both have drinks everywhere from the casino though so maybe it’s not that big a deal for us. I never thought about it but we could go to the steakhouse and get the top wine recommended for every course. Just saved over $100 each! 😜
  9. I think probably that’s true and I think they have had some much needed time off also. There were reports of some of the crew out and about and exploring Astoria and Victoria and they are probably excited to see Portland too. The cruise director is doing a 14 Panama Canal cruise now that he was excited about, I think he’s on Legend. I’m just excited our chances of sailing seem to get better every day! 🤞🤞🤞
  10. The Panorama is on the move again and will hopefully be safely in the Portland dry dock by mid day tomorrow. This latest report is from the Ship Report, I will include a link that hopefully works and you can listen to her latest podcast if you like. I have been following her since the Panorama arrived in Astoria, it’s very interesting and she has good info on what is happening with our ship. https://shipreport.net/2023/12/01/the-carnival-panoramas-columbia-river-return/?fbclid=IwAR00qxQclbZdj_iMmEp76WZ1gIDCoPd8n4OeDJjm3au_3uC6p6m2bhrIzzo_aem_AaS0bcqLRGZE0WKJXn5nJedo_Zf4E_7T2iXveLctlrePD6WOemn5GuhhSZUMnxIW2rY
  11. Besides the NYE cruise I will be on Panorama in February with a girlfriend and I think we might do it. It seems more doable if you only have to pay for one, lol! We did the Chefs Table on the Radiance in May, it was her first cruise. She loved the cruise but we were both a little disappointed in the Chefs Table, it wasn’t bad, maybe our expectations were too high. 🤷‍♀️ My friend is a foodie and appreciates good wine and the wine definitely missed the mark. It would be worth paying 50% more if the experience is 50% better.
  12. From John Heald’s Facebook page this morning. According to the Marine Traffic website the Panorama is still in Victoria but it is not scheduled to arrive in Portland (not Astoria) until 4 PM tomorrow so still plenty of time to get there on schedule. The best news is that the whale tail has been removed successfully and the Holiday cruises are expected to sail, yay!
  13. If you follow through to purchase they add gratuity, it is $354 for a couple. If they are upgrading the food and wine they should have promoted it first. I didn’t purchase, just wanted to see the total cost. Edited to add I am on Panorama also so would get the upgraded experience but I would definitely need specific details and it would have to be very impressive to warrant spending $354.
  14. Thank you so much for the pics adoris! Her route and arrival in Portland on Saturday has showed up on the Marine traffic website. There are also posts on the Panorama Facebook page say she will leave Victoria at 10 PM tonight. I hope they are correct! 🤞🤞🤞
  15. Absolutely gorgeous pic, thank you! ❤️🛳️❤️ I hear they may be removing the whale tail tomorrow and I see in your pic the giant crane is in place and ready. 🤞🤞🤞
  16. I received 50, probably because I have 13 cruises booked in 2024. They all went in the trash file.
  17. Oh my, that is even worse than our experience debarking after the 14 day to Alaska in September which was a two hour ordeal. I cannot understand why you would have to park offsite while the Panorama is out of commission. 🤷‍♀️ We also did the 5 day on Miracle the first week of November and it went much better but was still a PITA, enough that we have decided we won’t sail on her again. I am sorry you had to go through all that but glad you could let it go and enjoy your cruise!
  18. Most of the updates come from our administrator, he is doing a great job of keeping us all informed. If we were relying on Carnival for info we would remain lost at sea, lol! So I will see you onboard, we are also doing a B2B, can’t wait!
  19. Brand new update from the Facebook group for the New Years cruise.
  20. She is in Victoria and they are preparing to remove her whale tail and radar tower so she can make it under the fixed bridges on the Columbia River. She is scheduled to arrive in the Portland dry dock on December 2nd and a pilot has been booked to take her up river. So far the plan to have her ready in time for the holiday cruises is intact.
  21. Wow, that would be way ahead of schedule, thank you! Any updates from your local perspective are appreciated. Panorama sure is getting around and making news on her journey to full power.
  22. She is scheduled to go up River to Portland on December 2nd. If it takes 8 days for the repair and 2 days to travel back to Victoria that will leave 11 days to put her top back on and get to Long Beach on the 23rd. It sounds tight but doable unless there are unexpected complications and I think the chances for my New Years sailing look good. 🤞🤞🤞
  23. Thank you for the update! Sounds like the plan is in motion, hopefully it will be complete in time for the holiday cruises. This makes me optimistic for my New Years cruise. 😎🛳️😎
  24. I thought they now planned to do the repair in Victoria too but the Ship Report from the Portland area just posted that they are going to take off the tail in Victoria and she will return to Portland for dry dock and repair. Who knows at this point, I just hope they get it fixed in time for the holiday cruises. 🤞🤞🤞
  25. Yes, they are definitely the best we’ve been in. Our first was on the Legend out of Tampa for my 50th in 2007. The ultimate was the Spirit to Alaska in 2008, we were on the 7th deck and our BFFs were in the other Vista Suite on 7. We’d run back and forth between the cabins to see the wildlife sightings. This was back when they did the one way to Whittier so lots of cruising the inside passage, words cannot describe how wonderful it was. So good we dropped the mike and didn’t cruise again until 2022, lol! We did the 14 day to Alaska in September on the Miracle but the Vista suite was 10K, definitely out of our price range. This last cruise was a free suite offer from the casino and we paid the $200 upgrade for the Vista Suite. It was a very limited offer and I only got it for one cycle but so happy we got to do it again. The weather was perfect! I do have an Excel Aft Suite 15th deck on the Celebration coming up in May. I was able to use an offer that brought it into our price range, looking forward to that one! I should hit my 25th in 2025, looking forward to that too!
