  1. The last time we left out of Galveston we had a group of 5 people. We found it more cost effective to rent a car and pay to park at the dock than to use a shuttle or taxi.

Gee i didnt realised it was very dear to get to galveston from Houston airport. Not knowing the area .the shuttles for 2 is looking at costing $320 for return trip. If i had known i would have picked another cruise port that wasnt a long distance away.has any one else found getting to Galvestion. a cheaper way. would love some help thanks
  2. Is Jewel of the Seas changing their itinerary on some of their upcoming cruises? I just did a mock booking for Feb. 12, 2017 and it looks like they have changed St. Lucia for St. Maarten. Does anyone know if this is a recent change and why they've made the change?

    Thanks,

    Susan

    From Royal's site:

    CRUISE ITINERARY

There are a few changes to this sail date's itinerary. We hope you're as excited as we are about this in your updated vacation plan.

Day 1 (Departure) San Juan, Puerto Rico (Set Sail)

Day 2 Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

    Day 3 Basseterre, St. Kitts

    Day 4 St. Johns, Antigua

    Day 5 Bridgetown, Barbados

    Day 6 Cruising

    Day 7 Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Return San Juan, Puerto Rico (Return)

  3. When you get onboard, go to guest services and switch rooms. Both people will need to go to guest services. I've done this several times with no issues.

This question may not belong here, but I'll see what you all have to say.

I don't want to do a name change, I just want to swap cabin mates within my booking.

Is there a charge for that?

Can it be done when we arrive?

Does anyone have experience with this situation? If so, what's the best approach.

  4. If you are willing to consider Deck 8 (Emerald) we had 2 cabins that were listed as "obstructed view". The obstructed view cabin cost was less than the price of an interior cabin and we thought the view was almost totally unobstructed. We had cabin E-702 and my mom had E-701 on the opposite side of the ship.

  5. We're sailing on the Carnival Breeze this Saturday and have some questions about the Blue Hole Eco Tour (ship tour) in the Dominican Republic. The tour is a 6 hour tour beginning at 10 am (completion at 4 pm) The Breeze leaves the Dominican Republic at 4 pm. Does anyone know what time you actually get back to the dock and how much time there is to get back on the ship? Also, do you recommend the tour?

  6. My mom is interested in joining us on our March 28th cruise. It looks like there are very limited options for single travelers right now (while there are inside cabins available, when you try to book them for a single traveler, the only cabins available are veranda or concierge cabins). Our cabin will accommodate 3 passengers, but the current rate for our category cabin has gone up. Does anyone know what would happen to our rate if we add a 3rd passenger to our cabin?

  7. We are looking at this cruise line and have two young children. Since we live in the midwest, we have the expense of airfare as well. We've taken our two kids on two cruises now (another line) but looking at Royal Caribbean ships now. Can anyone tell me if and when they offer kids sail free promos? Very interested in this!

Check the site now - it looks like they currently are offering a kids sail free promotion.

  8. First time in Barbados and who knows maybe the last. Will be there 1 day and need advice on what to do....Okay ? What`s the best excursion on the Island

We used Sanjay (an independent taxi driver). We've been in Barbados twice and had Sanjay drive us both times. He will customize your tour wherever you would like to go. He also offers suggestions. We found him to be reasonable as well.
