  1. Looking forward to this new relaxed dress code - very much like RSSC I think
  2. Getting back on OP topic... There seems to be conflicting advice on the Fare Guarantee program for the 2 new fare categories. On the spreadsheet FG is included in both D2D & PTP but elsewhere on the website it states FG is not included with P2P. Is this just sloppy, and anyone know the definitive please ?
  3. I guess I just assumed that the contract would include vehicles of sufficient size for the number of people on the booking plus bags - and you're unlikely to be travelling light for a cruise even with the more relaxed dress code! So amazing to hear the standard is a basic limo (even if it's a merc e or s class) We always took the limo credit off the old D2D fare, even being well within 50 miles of LHR. Think we'll stick to the new P2P for here on in!
  4. I wonder how they measure the 50 mile limit - straight line, most direct route, route avoiding tolls, live traffic avoidance at the time the booking is made .....?? Do they say anywhere?
  5. Have been on enough SS cruises over 20 years to have free laundry et al, with several more booked ahead, so have seen changes, some good some bad, but none that would make me alter my loyalty. The cruise market as a whole has changed, especially post covid, and obviously all cruise lines adapt and consolidate. For example I don't miss the personalised note paper we used to get, and if a fruit bowl becomes on request than thatvs no bad thing. I use Regent too and they are in some ways better but in other ways worse - I'm not about to change my cruise habits, but I do manage my expectations to the reality!
  6. We managed to get a Fair Guarantee adjustment last week on a cruise we're taking next year, maybe around the same time as the fare structure change, but a couple of days afterwards the fare had jumped up 10%! Great benefit for us and perfect timing it seems, as we wouldn't qualify now! I guess fares just change regularly, perhaps due capacity revenue management as ships fill in a category?
  7. We were looking at Classic Veranda on a new SS Moon cruise we booked (sister ship and identical to Dawn) but erred away from deck 5 for following reasons (rightly or wrongly): 1. The left side in particular is above some crew/service areas which we were concerned may generate noise. 2. There are thicker superstructure uprights at some locations only on level 5 that may provide some suites with partial obscured balconies (see pic - level 5 is the lowest with balconies) and we didn't want to take that risk! Level 6 is better in all these respects imo. Being forward and lower decks you may hear the anchor being dropped (early in morning), or raised, at tender ports, but that would depend on your itinerary. Hth
  8. Seems likely to me that they are squeezing in a private charter cruise LIS/LIS between the dates Nov11 & 25. They did that to us several years back on a Caribbean cruise
