OK - so I think I have my answer. You all seem to think the answer is NO.

At least one comment was rude and uncalled for. I am not a child.

I was deeply skeptical about the whole cruise ducks thing for a long time. Staying in a Royal Suite on Celebrity on our last cruise I was actually delighted to find several ducks on our last cruise - and at the joy they can bring.

But if it is not a thing on Regent, it's not a thing. And that's fine. There was no need to be rude to say so. That says a lot more about you than me, or cruise ducks.

I so apologize (sincerely) if you thought I was being rude. I thought I was being humorous. So often on this board the subject of not wanting babies and kids on Regent comes up and I was extrapolating that the ducks and stuffed animals are certainly childlike. And I have no problem with anyone who behaves themselves being onboard. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Since tipping is included, just hand out stickers.  Funny,  I worked in tech and did have stickers on my laptop,  but since I retired,  I don’t really see the need for them.

Could someone please explain this?  Are stickers a code word for something else or are stickers like the bits of paper 5 year olds get for play or in cereal boxes. Would adults like stickers better than tips? I must be missing something. Thanks

  3. I have absolutely no problem on Regent or Silversea when this nonsense happens. I ask one of the deck crew to move the stuff. Of course the answer is... but madam, the people may have run to their cabin or blah blah even though we both know that's not true. And then a nice empty lounger over there is pointed out and I thank the guy... and probably shouldn't....drag the nice lounge chair over and pull out the "saved" chair and replace it with the chair that had been offered to me. Everybody gets it. It's ridiculous. The staff is then stuck with removing the saved chair with book and hat out of the way because we wouldn't want to be accused of touching someone else's stuff. This seems to be getting worse and not better. What IS the solution to this problem?

That 38 night cruise is interesting. It ends at sea!

If you follow this thread you’ll note that several people have commented on the farcical situation of variations and changes almost by the hour on the website, the entire loss of cruises on “my account” (ours has also gone altogether  too) and a total lack of clarity about the whole matter, including a half baked, inadequate explanation from Regent that is, clearly, false.

Please keep your comments coming. We are following along.

I might have joined the camp that says Destination Services is a problem. We had a phone message saying my husband can’t participate in our Cozumel excursion because he’s too old, even though all the material says he’s below the age limit. Clearly there’s an issue but we’ll see if we can work it out tomorrow.

Could you elaborate on the age issues?  I had asked about this some time ago and had gotten a vague answer. Were the age restrictions from the tour operators or from Regent? The tour we had been interested in was something similar to what I do every day at home. I know some people are unable to handle certain things but I do resent paying for these "free" excursions only to find out that we can't use them...especially last minute.  thanks

Single use jams and jellies are readily available as are small bottles of shampoos and the like. Condiments are offered in large shared bottles. Oceania and Regent have jumped aboard the "no plastic train", so plastic cup covers and water bottles have been eliminated. Thats it in the politically correct " greenie" department for now.

Thank you Edgee.  That is sort of what I was afraid of. We'll bring our deli cups/ lids and ignore the obvious hypocrisy if we go.

  7. We had a Bermuda cruise planned that got canceled when things were shut down. Having a local N.Y. boarding it could be east enough to get a sleeve of cups and lids from my local go to deli to bring along which actually is rather an annoyance. Would it be correct that we would find no more single use jams/jellies and condiment choices?  Shampoos and lotions will be discontinued? What else might be different? And if not...why?

For just a "beach cruise" why not take one of the other options?

It was not "just" a beach cruise to us. Time off from work, hotel and air purchased, pet sitter etc. on those dates. The option would have been a refund and we could have jumped on a quick flight to Cancun. That would have been an aggravating but better option at that point but it wasn't offered. It's great that you enjoy Cuba.

I don't believe the rules allow you to sell one cruise and deliver a completely different one.

As it turned out, it happened to us. A very simple beach cruise, paid in full, days off from work, flights purchased, SURPRISE, turned into a cruise to Cuba....focus on Cuba. We were offered a different cruise, different dates, different itinerary, blah blah blah.... but no thank you on our part. Just please refund our $$$. They had a waitlist for this cruise after Cuba was announced and could have easily resold the cabin. There was that hard NO I keep hearing about. We came to learn that we weren't the only unhappy campers on the ship because we met them day after day never getting off the ship. At any rate, we now find Silversea to be an excellent choice which never would have happened if this nonsense had not occurred. The "name" of the cruise was even changed.

How would you suggest they market their product?  We have 5 cruises booked through 2025 and there are excursions offered in each port and there is no limit on how many we can book. So apparently there are "free unlimited shore excursions."

If you have always looked forward to the innovative ways that the culinary team prepares your favorite chicken dishes and you don't mind paying the premium Regent prices.... would you be unhappy if once onboard you were told that there were only chicken nuggets available.... and well, there is chicken available? You can have as many chicken nuggets as you want.

None of the excursions have appealed to us. We're very much beach people. we enjoy snorkeling. I think we will attempt to find a beach. Hopefully the weather cooperates. I just checked, and it seems like it will be raining.

We are exactly the same and the beaches in Bermuda are outstanding. There was one excursion with snorkeling that caught my attention as part of a sailing offer and that was why I asked. Grab a couple of blow up floats in town to use at the beaches. You can just leave them for someone else on your last day. Well worth it.  Have fun.

  12. Yay!  Happy Anniversary!  We are about to grab this cruise next year after having to cancel 2 years ago.. As you mosey along, I will be wondering how you will find the Bermuda excursions.  It was mentioned somewhere...maybe on the Regent board, that some of the excursions are starting to have age restrictions. As you have time and update your trip....could you comment on that if you hear anything? Thanks so much and have fun.

I think its a oxymoron to have the word 'gents' in the same sentence as 'convertible shorts'!🤪...unless of course you are on the Carnival cruise site!

.There is that "not our kind" dear type of reference. And I have definitely seen those things on Regent.

  14. Over the years, we have cruised at least 20 times from NY to BDA... 3 times in a row on Regent/ Radisson Navigator and we were NEVER the only small ship on Front St.  It was fun to see other ships up close and personal but perhaps the rules have changed.
