  1. Another question .. I know that a daily ship board gratuity will automatically be added to our account based on our cabin category. But, how are gratuities handled for excursions? Is the gratuity included in the HAL excursion price? Or, do you bring cash to tip at the end of every excursion? Thanks so much. .
  2. If we use AARP gift cards to pre purchase internet and still have money left on one card, can we ask our PCC to add this amount to on board credit? Or, take the card on the cruise to do this after we board? Would this need to be added to shipboard credit in increments of $5, $25, etc, or just the total amount that is left to clear the card?
  3. Good advice, Ruth. Knowing that we cannot access our HAL accounts on the website has made us extra vigilant. I have been printing out everything. I am double checking our paperwork & pointing out any omissions to our PCC (she initially left off a shipboard credit, had us in the wrong room category and did not include our cabin number). It’s challenging since it’s our first cruise but we are handling it so far.
  4. I’m so sorry for your frustrating experience. I can relate. We had a similar experience of dead ends. Started by repeatedly reporting the issues to our PCC. Who repeatedly reported them to IT. We never heard anything from that avenue. Next, I sent emails to Guest Relations & to Navigator Support. I was detailed in explaining the issues, attaching screen shots, etc. Never heard back from Navigator Support. Guest Relations replied suggesting that I contact Navigator Support??? They also suggested reinstalling the App. No response about the website issues at all. After that I updated my iOS — I can now finally (mostly) use the website so calling it a day. (I will add that I still cannot access my account with the Account button. Dead link. I cannot help but wonder what’s in my Account that I can’t see? I tried the chat function to ask but they would not/could not answer that question. Kept telling me to contact Guest Relations. And so it goes).
  5. This might be helpful to anyone with the “white screen issue.” Updating my iOS to the newest version helped me and I no longer have the dreaded white screen issue. I can “Manage My Cruise.” Hallelujah. However, I still cannot use my Account button — unfortunately it’s a completely dead link. I wonder what info I can’t see by not being able to open my Account? Hope it’s nothing too important … lol. (I cannot see onboard credits or our Club Orange purchase but HAL said there is no way to see this on the website at this point anyway).
  6. Just a note for anyone else who may have technical difficulties with the HAL website in the future. Updating my iOS to the newest version helped somewhat. I can now Manage My Cruise! I no longer have the dreaded white screen issue. Hallelujah. However, this has not fixed my Account button — unfortunately it’s still a completely dead link. What information am I missing by not being able to open my Account? Hope it’s nothing too important … lol. (I cannot see onboard credits or our Club Orange purchase but HAL said there is no way to see this on the website at this point anyway). Thanks.
  7. Thanks for the suggestions. I am unable to click on the Account button to open anything at all. It’s a completely dead link. Not sure why. I am able to go to Manage My Cruise but cannot open anything once I select a booking . I have what has been described on CC as a “white screen” problem. Everything opens to a blank white screen. There’s a current thread going on this issue that I’ve been following and I also found an older post with suggestions that I will try tonite. Ironically, the Make a Payment link works just fine. I was able to pay the balance for the cruise. No problem. 🤦🏼‍♀️
  8. Thank you. I did see the Incognito work around posted here on CC but it didn’t work for me, unfortunately. I just found a post from last year with additional suggestions for trouble shooting that I will try tonight. Fingers crossed 🤞
  9. Yes. Everyone has been very generous with suggestions and with describing how they resolved their similar issues with the site. Haven’t hit on the right solution yet. Trying a new browser didn’t work for me, unfortunately.
  10. Thank you. This is our first cruise & it’s been very difficult not to be able get access our account or manage our cruise. I know we are not alone, but still very frustrating. Many people have posted various fixes here on CC and elsewhere and so far none of those have worked for us. We are a group of 4 with 2 different bookings and not one of us can get in on any of our devices. I may ask my daughter who’s in her 20’s to give it a try — she’s always been the IT department for our family.
  11. We actually ended up booking the excursion through HAL. They scheduled one with a 5:15 pm departure which will work after our return from the Tracy Arm excursion.
  12. Thank you so much for explaining the steps to purchase OBC on the website. Unfortunately, I have been unable to access Manage My Booking online. It’s been a continuing issue. But at least now I know how to purchase OBC once I am able to fix that! Thx.
  13. Thank you — all good suggestions, but this time I would like to purchase shipboard credit with the gift cards. Would like to do this online, otherwise I’ll give HAL a call. Thx.
  14. I would like to use HAL gift cards to purchase OBC for our cruise.
  15. I am looking for a link to purchase shipboard credit (OBC). I have been having a lot of trouble with the HAL website so a direct link would be greatly appreciated.
  16. Thank you @Mary229 and @crystalspin . Is there a way to purchase OBC on the Navigator App? I have been having difficulty in general with the website and cannot seem to find the option there. (That’s another story — I cannot open my account page or manage my cruise at all, neither can my husband. Frustrating.).
  17. How do I purchase additional on board credit before boarding? After boarding? Does the process change if you are using gift cards to purchase OBC? I am considering purchasing HAL gift cards through AARP. Would any unused on board credit be returned to my credit card even if I purchased it with a gift card? Thank you.
  18. Great. We plan to use one card.
  19. Slightly off topic but this is related to the AARP OBC promo. Through the promo, I have $100 AARP OBC for our upcoming cruise. It shows up in our booking confirmation — but it was applied in full under my name. The remaining OBC credit that we got when we booked is split evenly between myself and my husband. Will this matter when it comes to spending the AARP OBC on board? Will it just be applied to our stateroom no matter who uses it, me or my husband? Thx. (First time cruiser, just learning the ropes).
  20. Ugh. My husband is having the same white screen problem on his phone, but he is able to get past the white screen on his laptop. But, then he gets other error messages. I thought I’d give it a shot if I could switch to desktop on my phone or iPad and see what happens. But it sounds like you have tried it all.
  21. Is it possible to switch the website to a desktop version site? Has anyone tried this? I’d like to give it a shot but can’t find this option on the website.
  22. Didn’t work for me, unfortunately. White screen every time. So frustrating.
  23. We are skipping the HIA but may possibly bring wine on board. What is the boarding process if you want to carry on 1-2 bottles of wine & pay the $20 ea. corkage fee? Or, to carry on the permitted 6 liters of bottled water — can it be sparkling water, or only still? Can you bring your own bottle of wine to the table in the MDR? Or, even just pour a glass to enjoy elsewhere on the ship? Are there places on board where you’re not permitted to do this? Thx.
