Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Log out of celebrity site. Go to this spreadsheet & enter your cruise info - it will populate a link to see drink prices without your account. It also shows current excursion prices, dining packages, wifi, etc. I use it for comparing prices when selecting between cruises before I have purchased. It only works for Royal C and Celebration. For my current cruise logging into my account has not shown any prices that differ from what is displayed without logging in. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ukT6gOPcu7coL92LuDcyDaWXQfO88u5kN9FEdHRj5bM/edit#gid=0
  2. Flash sale right now for 35% off - at least for my booking.
  3. I do similar every cruise - but not for decorating - it's so I can easily find my room. I don't do anything elaborate - just a couple of butterflies once, but it's so much easier than trying to remember room numbers - especially if that drink package is purchased.
  4. Just curious - does Celebrity do a captain's party with complementary drinks & complementary champagne w the art auction?
  5. Ok - I'll ask it. Has anyone seen jogging or walking shoes (tennis shoes) in the MDR on chic night? I've seen them in photos on other nights, but I haven't found photos where I can see shoes on dress up nights. It looks like it's within the rules someone posted above.
  6. I don't work for the cruise line, but I have a 6 night cruise & they all seem to multiply by 6 for me. I don't know the other answers, so hopefully someone else will respond. I would expect a script runs upon connection that blocks you from setting up a hotspot and sharing the connection. I don't see anything about per room or passenger - they all seem to indicate per device.
  7. The first one adds some sort of pass to get through lines faster
  8. Also, the FAQs on Celebrity state: Yes! On embarkation day only, guests are welcome to bring on any non-alcoholic beverages. They are limited to what can be hand-carried onboard by each individual.
  9. I think the app is showing the current sailing that is at sea right now but I'm not 100% sure. I know the ship I am supposed to cruise on is on a 6 night trip right now and the app made a duplicate of day 6. Last week, the boat was on a 7 night trip & the app showed a different menu. The order of the menu did move around some & some days are completely different. I plan on following it a few more weeks to see if it is changing completely each week or if it is flipping back and forth depending if it is a 6 or 7 night cruise. I can say the 6 night sailing has no lobster displayed and the 7 night cruise did have lobster.
  10. I am on Celebrity Beyond later this summer. I was looking at some youtube videos but people seem to post so much of what they eat in special dining. I would like some opinions of the best things eaten in the main dining venues - or even in Eden for lunch which I think is included. The only items I've seen that stood out is that the corn soup isn't very flavorful and the oxtail is a must have. Is it true that there is no lobster in MDR on a 6 night cruise?
  11. Just to note - I am trying to figure out how to stay cheaply overnight too since my last cruise left one of us in Florida due to flight delays. As a sidenote - do not believe NCLs pitch to buy flights through them because they'll take care of you. They will not - I didn't even feel like they genuinely sympathized. Only book through them if it's cheaper. Although I'm sure it's common across all cruise lines to lie a bit to make a sale, I am not booking a cruise through them - can't get that bad experience out of my head when I see their brand. I recognize this is an old thread, but as of today there is a room that appears for $55 per night and under $70 including all fees. I doubt it's a hotel that's been updated since the original posting, but I feel like that's incredible considering how much everything else has increased. The ship sets sail on time - travel insurance has caps. I do find it funny how the original poster asked not to be flamed & some of the responses. I appreciate zoncom's update after he stayed and the comments on people that actually stayed in airport overnight. And the sleep links were very helpful for comparing options. These options would have been better than having a passenger stuck in Florida when the SHIP SET SAIL ON TIME. A couple of other items someone might find helpful - while considering this, FLL airport has lockers that look to be about $5 per day. Not sure the size options. There are also locker sites near the airport but it's unclear if you can walk to them & I have no idea the pricing. But I'd feel uncomfortable trying to guard 4 bags while sleeping. So I'd be sure to have my luggage when the ship SET SAIL ON TIME and I was there because I didn't book my flight the day of the cruise. Also there are lounges in the airport but my research showed none as helpful options. They are higher than renting a hotel - by quite a bit when you consider 2 people - and/or the most affordable "escape lounge" closes overnight. An option that hasn't been covered by this thread is airbnb. I did some searches but it's really odd how many entries are under $30 without a single review. Although I've stayed at airbnb's before, I'd feel safer in the airport than staying at an unrated airbnb. But I have stayed at one elsewhere and the host agreed to drop me at the airport the next morning. I tried to tip her $20 but she wouldn't even accept it. I don't really have much else of value to add since I haven't taken my trip and have always flown the day of the cruise. Just think twice about flying the day of the cruise if you have to fly eastward - or cruise out of the west coast so time is on your side. In either case make all decisions around your SHIP SETS SAIL ON TIME - your flight may not.
