  1. Ha,have to agree. We are US citizens, and we have visited England several times. I describe them as like Americans, but with a sense of humor.
  2. We cruise from Quebec City Aug 14 on Shadow. The earliest shown boarding time on the SS website is 2 pm. Is that normally the earliest time or is it because we just booked and others have taken the earlier times?
  3. I made the call this morning. Took about 3-4 minutes with the rep. Now to make dinner and shore excursion reservations. It seems like all cruise line websites are C- and below.
  4. My agent sent me an email saying he was just now(About 1 hour ago) able to get his part completed at Silversea.
  5. Thanks, I'll give it a few days. Frustating.
  6. I booked a Silversea cruise yesterday with a travel agent. I have a document the agent attached from Silversea. When I open the Silversea website I click on "My Silversea" at the top of the page. It autofills my email address, albeit with the first letter capitalized. It also auto fills a temorary password. It ask me to change the password. I can't do that with any success. I can click on "sign in", "create account" or "forgot password". When I click on any of these I get a rolling circle that is never ending. Any suggestions?
  7. Tough day! suite/suit!!!!!!!!! Sorry, I suspect DW will want to dress formal. So----
  8. So, we booked Silver Shadow for 11 nights down the Saint Lawrence Seaway to Newfoundland. Do I need a dark suite and a blue blazer? Hopefully a restful cruise for us. Just what we need.
  9. Thank you, that is what I was referring to. We most likely will be booking the August 14 Silver Shadow cruise round trip from Quebec City that spends several days visiting Newfoundland. It avoids the long flights to/from Alaska from TN, and there are several ports we have not visited before.
  10. I looked at the Muse dress code on the SS website, and didn't see a difference. When I read here it appesrs that things are changing and/or the dress code isn't always enforced? Sorry to ask about a sore subject. We are considering our first Silversea cruise.
  11. Is it allowed: Smoking in cabins? Smoking in Casino? Anywhere else indoors? Smoking on Balcony? We've been on about 10 HAL cruises, but it has been a few years. Hope things have improved.
  12. On our recent Summit cruise about 97-98% of the people had no problem following the dress code. It was a NE/Canada cruise. It's so simple.
  13. WE went to see him a few years ago in Nashville. The guy who sat next to me had seen him 39 times, and he was in his early 30s. It's amazing how often I hear a song during a movie or at the end of the movie and it is a Dylan song. America's greatest song writer.
  14. WE enjoy HAL and about 8 of our last 10 cruises have been on HAL. But when you stick with one line you really notice the downgrades. The evening shows are now crummy. The food quality has been consistently reduced. Borh are important to us. We don't use the pool or sail the Caribbean. Service on both lines is excellent. We sailed on Regent Voyager in March. It was the ships first cruise in about 2 years. No one had any idea what they were doing, and the ship was understaffed. We were told some employees were not allowed to travel(Europe) and others failed their Covid test. Although unseasoned I would give those employees a 10 for effort. WE just returned from a Summit cruise, and I would give the employees a 10 for effort. I prefer HAL. DW prefers Celebrity. To each their own.
  15. They have to keep some cabins open for the travel partner of someone that gets Covid. I had Covid on the Summit 8-31 cruise, and my wife was offered a different cabin. She stayed one night and returned to our cabin. She also got Covid.
  16. FWIW, we were on the Summit Canada/NE cruise 8-31to 9-11, and Covid was very bad. We both had Covid and DW is on steriods now to clear up lung congestion. It was like a bad cold for me. Both of us are multi-vaccinated. I think it is kind of the luck of the draw. You might have a problem, you might not. Quarantine in a cruise ship cabin is not fun. We booked at least a year out believing Covid would likely be over, Ha. On the other hand, at some point you choose to take a chance. If you go to the last few pages, and you will read about many people that had covid during and immediately following the cruise: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2770301-august-31st-2022-boston-maine-canada-celebrity-summit/#comment-60719938
  17. I just did on the 8-31 Summit cruise. I used OBC to buy chips(if you consider those promotional) then bet either red/black, even/0dd or 1-18/19-36. All required a $5 minimum bet. Ha, the first time I've ever won in a casino. I started with about $1200, and walked out with $1400.
  18. They will direct you to cab pick up. It is immediately after you walk outside the building when you leave the ship. $20.20 to airport. No lines this morning.
  19. We are on the same cruise. DW found her favorite premmium wine in 1bar.
  20. I have Covid on Summit. Quarantined in my cabin . DW was given a new cabin with balcony.
  21. Yes, She became Queen the year I was born, and I am old now. My mother always loved her. DW and I loved her too. I dont think we have people like her anymore.
