  1. I don't know. What do you get when you mix a elephant and a rhinoceros?
  2. I don't see why not. It took 3 hours on Regent, and that was one line of people. X could do 2-4 lines of people. 50-300 positive people will not overload a cities hotels if unable to fly or drive home. Some cruisers are already staying to enjoy a location. My point is Celebrity's responsibility should end at the end of the cruise. Theaters, hotels etc. do not care for people who use their facilities and get covid.
  3. Or the ship do the test. Went smooth as silk on our Regent cruise. No reason X can't do it. Unload passengers regardless of the results. It should be the passenger's problem. Disembark, fly home or stay in a hotel. If very sick the nearest ER.
  4. I no longer drink alcohol so when I sail on Regent I am paying for something I don't use. I haven't been on very many very enjoyable shore excursions on Regent or Celebrity or HAL but they are not in the price on HAL and Celebrity. Regent has the best food.
  5. That would include mostly Americans that need a test to fly back to the US. Celebrity could charge $50-100, and it would be profitable. We were on a Regent cruise that ended April 5, and they tested, and we had a certificate via email in a few hours that was used to fly home.
  6. When I was 10 YO(1962) I got a newspaper route delivering the Knoxville, TN morning newspaper. I was up at 5:30, and had my 30 papers delivered by 6. I have never had any desire to change that habit. Early to bed, early to rise-------
  7. The original booking was made months ago for a balcony cabin, and we upgraded to a sky suite about 3 weeks ago. I'm not sure what we have. I have looked at our reservation on the X website, and there is no mention of CWC , but I can't login right now.
  8. (A)Always take extra meds, (B) flights, hotel are no problem, (C)retired,(D)We should be able to get off the ship and drive home from a US port if we want? It's a Canada/NE cruise.
  9. Unless something changes I will be making our final payment in 4 days. If some deadly strain pops up I'll take a loss if necessary.
  10. Just trying to decide whether to go or cancel our August cruise from Boston. I've always viewed cruise ship as petri dishes so I prefer safety.
  11. We have a Canada/NE cruise booked on Summit for 8-31-22.Fanial payment is 5-23. I don't think those itineraries have started yet, and I don't recall anyone posting about Covid on Summit recently. Anyone know how things are going? Isn't X sailing at full capacity again? We sailed on Regent Voyager in the Med 3-23 to 4-5. The ship sailed at 70% capacity, but there were all kinds of problems. In fairness it was the ships first cruise in 2 years. There were not enough workers onboard, and they were very poorly trained. No problem with their effort though. 2.5-3 hour wait for dinner the first night. Regent never mentioned Covid. We were required to wear masks indoors except while eating or drinking or in our cabin. Our friends tested positive at the end of the cruise.
  12. We sailed on Regent Voyager march 23 to April 5 in the Med. The ship sailed at 70% capacity, and many workers were unable to get to Civitavecchia It seemed that those that did make it were terribly under trained. Everything was poor about the cruise including the 2.5 - 3 hour wait for dinner the first night. Problems every where on cruise ships.
  13. The last time we arrived at a US port(NYC?) there were cabs lined up to take people to the airport. I would rather pay for a cab or Uber than go on a bus. When we finished our Med cruise last month in Barcelona we used OBC for a limo to the airport. The difference in cost of a Mercedes or regular cab would not normally be worth it to me, but we had unused OBC.
  14. When I booked our NE/Canada cruise ending 9-11-22 we had $90 of on board credit. We changed from a balcony cabin to a sky suite, and the credit changed to $800. Additionally our travel agent gave us $185 that cannot be rebated to us at the end of the cruise, and I will apply for a shareholder credit of $100 from RCL. We have been on this cruise or a similar cruise several times, and there are very few shore excursions we want to take. We have the premium drink package with the suite. I have booked 3 nights in specialty restaurants. Does Celebrity offer transportation from the pier to the airport? What kind? Can Onboard credit be used to pay for the transportation?
  15. WE will be in a Sky Suite on Summit this fall. It has a internet package included, Is there an upgraded package that can be purchased? If so is it much better? WE will be on a cruise along New England and Eastern Canada to Quebec City and return. I was surprised last month on a Med cruise on another line when the Computer Manager(name?) told me the upgrade to a better package was not worth it as there was very little difference. As it turned out my tablet worked fine in public areas, but not so good in our cabin.
  16. Also ask Dr. which booster to get. Our 4th was Moderna which was the same as the first three. That was 2-3 weeks before our cruise. I had a routine Dr. appointment soon after our cruise about 6 weeks later, and the nurse said they have been recommending switching to Pfizer for the fourth jab. Our friends that we sailed with did not get their 4th, and she tested positive in Barcelona the day they disembarked at the end of the cruise. They had to wait 10 days to fly home. He tested positive after 5 days so they stayed in Barcelona 15 days before returning to the US. Trawick Insurance would only cover the first day in Barcelona as a travel delay because they put the travel time as ending the day they were supposed to fly home.
  17. 18. There is no requirement to have insurance here. if you have insurance they will take your card and bill the insurance company. We got our test in Nashville to fly to Rome in March. I believe you are correct regarding being state specific though.
  19. I was told by the pharmacist at both stores that they are free. You go through the drive through, and they watch you swab your nose, and put the swab in the vial, Then you hand it back to them in the plastic baggie. It takes about 30 seconds. WE had results in about 1 hour via email. You can also get the results via text, We live about 2 miles from Walgreens and 3 miles from CVS.
  20. There must not be any building codes for cruise ships. All showers and tubs should have at least one grab bar. Standing on a wet surface while at sea. Ugh!
  21. Aren't covid test free at CVS and Walgreens? Ours were a month ago.
