  1. I forgot to add that in Munich, I seemed to be unable to find an elevator entering the terminal. I had to take my carry-on luggage up one flight of stairs. But this is not the same amount of stairs in your two story home. One flight of stairs goes on almost forever. Amazing
  2. However, a cruise that begins and ends in different U.S. ports (e.g. a Panama Canal cruise that begins in Fort Lauderdale and ends in Los Angeles) must stop in a distant foreign port to be in compliance. source: https://thepointsguy.com/guide/what-is-the-jones-act-for-cruise-ships/
  3. Hmmm. I think you will need to post the dates and the embarkation/ debarkation ports. It could be an issue bc of that term that I forget ……. Some thing about a distant foreign port. Someone here will be able to explain (after you provide more details)….. PVSA (thank you google!)
  4. I dislike Frankfurt airport. There aren’t enough gates to accommodate flight traffic. You will likely deplane onto the tarmac very far from the terminal, and will be bused over to the terminal. You will need to descend from the plane using narrow stairs while carrying all of your own carryon luggage as you try not to trip and fall down. The process is reversed when you board your next flight. IIRC first/business class boards the bus first (very few seats) and then everyone else gets on the bus with you so it’s definitely not a first class experience boarding the plane. You will go through customs and immigration wherever you first land in the EU, unless you transfer through LHR in which case I’m not sure….
  5. Yes, as Sunlover12 mentioned, the cruise survey isn’t available after you disembark. However, an email to O is a second-best option. Someone here will have a suggestion for an email address to use. Always better to complete the survey before disembarking, but…….that ship has sailed.
  6. Looks like Christina Hill. She was our WONDERFUL assistant cruise director on Riviera TA in November 2021. She organized our Solo meetups and we had a SMASHING time! She’s the BEST!
  7. So sorry about your experience. There’s no excuse for what you experienced.
  8. If OP is already booked on the cruise through a TA and is trying to add/modify the booking, O would refer them back to their TA.
  9. I have several Coeur de Lion jewelry sets all paid for with funny money. Lovely!
  10. I wish the Oceania forum had our own “Michael Moore”.
  11. And I’m on her the following year, APR 2025. Tokyo to Vancouver.
  12. BLESS YOU Michael! We appreciate you!
  13. SNICKERS! That’s my Kryptonite! (along w Fritos!).
  14. Yes, X does IT well, but then you would have to cruise onboard their ship. {snark off}
  15. I love both lines! But, costs are going up. Feb 2024 will be the last cruise I booked when prices were lower! Starting to look at land tours….. might have the advantage of being less food and alcohol focused, and perhaps will include more active walking, hiking? ? Perhaps…. Sigh.
  16. I appreciate your comments and perspectives and, of course I’m disappointed that your WC on Mariner has not been outstanding in every way. I think the only part where I have a difference of opinion is my experience with the H category suite on Mariner versus the penthouse on Riviera and Sirena. Yes, the penthouse on O is larger than one of the lower suite categories on Mariner. However the Mariner suite was really excellent, I must say. I hope things will improve for you!!

    Shoe Question

Thank you to all the excellent recommendations for quality hiking shoes. My Merrell Moab 3 Gore-tex wide hiking shoes just arrived. This second pair fit great. The return process for the first (too small) was quick and easy. South America (and later Alaska), here I come!
  18. My 1 experience on Regent Mariner was also as you described. I had a fabulous time! Wish I could afford to cruise Regent more often. SIGH.
  19. I was on the Mariner in November last year and I was v pleased w everything. Ok, the included wine wasn’t always the best but I always found something I liked to drink. I posted a video of my category H suite on another thread yesterday in case it is of interest. I thought Mariner was better than the 3 Oceania ships I have sailed on, and I love Oceania.
  20. You could try posting on the rollcall for that itinerary…….those pax might have a better idea……
  21. I was in a category H suite on Mariner in November last year for the Los Angeles to Lima repositioning cruise. Let’s see if I can post this video of my suite. D39DE2B6-A7BD-4C9D-A94A-8E00DB1E2DFB.MOV
  22. Sounds like you’re sailing on either Riviera or Marina, correct? I’m sure you’ll get some responses soon.
  23. Interesting. My concern would be Alaska ports so early in the season. Brrrrr!
