HAL further relaxes protocols...
iflyrc5 replied to BermudaBound2014's topic in Holland America Line
I have 2 - 14 day collector cruises booked back to back for a total of 28 days leaving on the NA Nov 6. When I put in the booking numbers for each of the collector's cruises it states I don't need vaxed (We have 2 plus 3 boosters) and no testing. However - we will be on the ship for 28 days. I have a call into my TA to verify that we don't need to be tested. -
Correct - you see the requirement in the documents section when doing your online checkin. I believe that a few cruise destinations still require testing. It is all detailed on the HAL website.

There is an online health assessment that needs to be filled out online within 72 hours of sailing

Question for someone currently on the Nieuw Amsterdam
iflyrc5 posted a topic in Holland America Line
I am seeing on various FB posts that some of the ships are not giving out the plastic tote bags and the key cards do not have a hole/slot for using a lanyard. We were on the NS in Feb/Mar and they gave us the bags and the key cards came with a slot. For guests currently on the Nieuw Amsterdam in the "lower end cabins" - are you getting the plastic totes and do the key cards come with a hole/slot for lanyard or will they punch them at guest services? Thanks - we sail on the ship in 2 weeks. -
How long ago did this happen - It took 6 weeks for our FCC to show on our account when we cancelled a cruise and booked a different cruise.

That is exactly what I got when I purchased mine for an upcoming cruise.

How much time off ship for back-to-back cruises?

There is not a "discount" as such but booking a "collectors" cruise (which is 2 cruises put together as one booking) is cheaper than booking the 2 cruises individually. -

You probably won't even be required to get off the ship - we got off and walked into town for a while but it was not a requirement. -

You should be fine. We had to change cabins one time. You pack you loose stuff - the crew moves your luggage and hang-up clothes. You can wait in a common area until the cabin is ready. -

We have done the B2B in FLL many times. The typical process is this - you will get a letter a couple days before arriving in FLL. It will give you a time and location to meet on the ship. Usually 0930 in either the main stage or the BB King lounge with your passport and room key. When everyone arrives (sometimes people don't show up until being called several time) and all the guests that are leaving are off the ships personnel will escort your group off the ship. They will guide you into the terminal and you will either go to a facial recognition station or see a government official with your passport. When everyone is checked through you will then be guided back onto the ship. If all goes well and everyone does what they are supposed to do the process will take less than 30 minutes. If you want to get off the ship and do some site seeing or shopping around FLL you can get off the ship any time. You will be given an "in transit" card so when you return you can bypass the lines and get on the ship. -
Yes - we have 2 cruises booked back to back under 2 different booking numbers and received $250 for each cruise. We have done this many times.

I faxed my information in last Wednesday evening and on Thursday evening had received an email stating that it was processed and we had the OBC applied to both of our upcoming cruises.

We have stopped at HMC 20+ times and have only missed 2 or 3 because of wind/sea conditions. Several times we just did not go over because of rain.

Marty and Gail - As I recall you are on the Rotterdam. We have good friends on there too. Kathi, Jim and Trish. They are staying on for the TA. I sent Kathi an email asking if she had me you yet.

If you are sitting with Bob and Judy G from Prescott, AZ tell them Ted and Barb say hi and wishing you all a great cruise. They are friends we have cruised with many times.

The HAL E-cards come in 2 different emails - one is the card you purchase and the other email is the promo card

I use Chrome which is the most popular browser and it does not work - so I tried MS Edge and it worked - go figure.

I documents are complete except for the final health questionnaire but the HAL system is not allowing me to print out our luggage tags. I tried the Saturday and Sunday and used the print button and also the choice to download and neither worked. Anyone else having this issue.
