  1. I don't see a problem. I was in Miami preparing to depart when a Hurricane came right over Miami. We stayed tied to the pier overnight with two huge tugs pushing us against the pier. Left in the morning in calm seas. No worries :D:D

It took me a little time to find it but.....It was Hurricane Irene, October 15, 1999. We were on Carnival Ecstasy in Miami. Had a balcony (U114). Lucky because back then there were very few balconies.

  2. I have to agree with the OP. I have been on more Carnival cruises overall but not in recent years. I was on Victory in January for a 5 night. No lobster ???

So I sucked it up and paid $$ as did others in my party who paid $$ for a steak in the MDR. Things that used to be "included." I am booked on MSC next week and the price was way better than Carnival for an aft balcony 7 nts.

I have four more in the Que after Divina - none of those on Carnival. So when is my next Carnival cruise ?? Maybe never. My future cruises are all on non-Carnival lines. But I don't think they would care.

  4. Pack light. You can always use the self serve laundry or let them do laundry.

Don't take no for an answer. It is your vacation. Enjoy it. Eat breakfast at least once in the dining room. Fresh food and you are waited on. You don't need to take ones for tips. You can get change at Guest Services. Liked it better when it was called Purser's Desk :D Take post it notes so you can leave your room steward a note if you want anything.

  5. I have survived three hurricanes while cruising. There is nothing t fear. On one we went to Cozumel (there were 18 ships...yes 18) to avoid the storm. On another we were delayed departing Miami and remained at the pier while the storm passed over Miami. We couldn't return to Fort Lauderdale on another and went to Tampa where the got us all rooms at hotels. Nothing to fear. We are booked on MSC leaving Miami next weekend and I don't expect any issues :D

  6. I agree with Grady. We take a "Boy's" cruise every year. Many times it was Carnival due to price and length of cruise. We try to stay with 4 or 5 nights.

January 2016 we were on Victory. We found that there are a couple ways to use up the excess when one of our group had several left. The 2017 cruise is on RCCL primarily because of the 15 cap on Carnival. Plus we will get lobster on RCCL. JMHO :D

  7. The countdown continues to my first MSC cruise and Divina's first cruise following the drydock. It will be interesting to find out what was done during the down time. Looking forward to the MSC experience (all positive) We have already booked Seaside for March of 2018 :D
