  1. NO you won't.

    Did too!

Even though the Patter said cigars and pipes were relegated to the ships morgue (aka Churchills) I observed several cigar smokers and a couple of pipe smokers on the smoking deck. It was actually the least windy pool area of the ship and was very pleasant. I noticed no smoke smell except when smoking myself it sitting next to a smoker.

  2. We have had there almost on the sand, no more than 5 feet from the beach. Most of the fish you will see will be seargent majors(yellow fish with black stripes about 4-6 inches long) in schools up to a few hundred at a time. They also swim alone. They have tiny mouths and will not bite. It is really like looking into a fish tank from above at times. I have only seen a couple of barracuda their and they were pretty far out. Lastly, unless you have a snorkel mask on, you will not see most of the fish. Once under the surface, it is a whole new world.

The nastiest fish bite I've ever had was a Sgt. Major. Stay away from their house. They're very protective!

  3. If you check the Princess website, it states that cigars can indeed be enjoyed on deck

Thanks Bill! I have always enjoyed a fine cigar on the Sports or Sky decks of the CP and CB. As I recall you could smoke anywhere on the starboard side open decks. I've never had any crew member call me out for smoking. I am always careful not to blow smoke in the direction of others and always mind my ash.

  4. Sea Aquarium Beach is close to town, if that's the same one you're referring to. Cab fare is about $5 ea for 4. I don't recall seeing a resort there but there are lots of services there, food, drink, chairs, etc. Not the most beautiful beach but easy and convenient with lots of amenities.

  5. I was on the Regal and you swipe your cruise card and get tokens to use in the machines. I also bring the individual laundry packets from home instead of purchasing them on board the ship.

    Sali

Do you get the tokens right in the laundry room?

  6. All we've done in Barbados is an island tour. It has nice beaches and we've visited a couple of those. The island itself is very beautiful, so my preference is to spend beach time someplace that's not as scenic.

There are some spectacular vistas overlooking the east coast. Bathsheba is a great photo op with huge boulders along the shore. There's a colonial fort that has great views of Bridgetown and the southern half of the island.

If you're bold, you can't rent a car and drive on the wrong side of the road. The roads are in good shape and it's pretty easy to navigate. There are lots of drivers outside the terminal who will take you on a tour.

It's one of my favorite islands. Try the flying fish sandwich!

  7. We were on Regal last March. I seem to think they did have Woodford but I'm not sure about that or other choices. Once I found they had Knob Creek, I was a happy camper and didn't inquire further. I do remember seeing a number of high end scotchs such as JW Blue.

I'd be happy with Knob Creek!

  8. Actually, non-guests can use the beach at the Divi. They sell coupons that can be redeemed for food or drinks at thei bars & restaurants.

We had a cab driver take us there when we asked for his suggestion last year for a good spot on Eagle Beach.

  9. There is also the S.J suites right on Fortaleza. Worked for us when we were there.

We stayed at the San Juan Suites a couple of years ago and it was very nice. Great location close to a lot of restaurants. It was an easy walk down to the ship in the morning. I would stay there again!

  10. A few years ago we were burglarized and I had an expensive Swiss watch stolen. Since we were going on a cruise I thought, St. Thomas!

I priced the watches I was interested in locally and online before going. I couldn't find a price anywhere in St. Thomas that even matched the best deal I found at a local jeweler. I think before the Internet and Amazon, there were deals to be had there. There still could be, just do your homework first.
