  1. Several years ago we visited Screws Sulphur Springs. Looks like they’re closed now. Has anyone visited on of the other hot springs there recently? We’d love to do that in February when we’re there.

Thanks!  I vaguely can picture her.  The other couple I remember was Shae-Lynn (not sure of spelling) and ?  Yesterday after posting I went to google and saw the Wikipedia entry.  It showed each person and each episode who they were coupled with.  Interesting. Not sure how the show is supposed to end.  Will there be a "winner"?

ShayLynn and Daniel. I’m not sure how this is supposed to end. They kick people off but bring new people on.

I enjoy seeing the ship and the ports but it is a bad show.

@MrSchwump I haven't seen it since they moved it to Paramount+.  Remind me who Marty and Emily were.  I remember two couples from the first several shows who seemed to be and "item".

Emily was the nurse who was a virgin. Marty looked kinda dopey, like Mr Bingley from the Kiera Knightly version of Pride & Prejudice.

  4. Anyone else still watching this train wreck? It’s so bad that I can’t stop watching. Then again, I like hospital food.

Does the Captain remind anyone else, especially voice-wise, of Borat? Especially when he says “Ciao for now!” I keep waiting for a “Very nice!”

Man, that Marty turned into a head case!  Had high hopes for him and Emily.

  5. My nephew and his wife are embarking on the Pride this Sunday, 3/13, in Tampa.  They have a time they've been told to arrive for boarding.  How strictly are these times enforced now?

In the past, when sailing with Princess, we'd get to Port Everglades at 10a and be on board by 11a, even though our official boarding time was 1 or 2p.

    Thanks!

  6. It was interesting. We sailed on the Regal out of FLL at the same time this was happening. At the time we figured that this was a world away and we had nothing to fear.
Two weeks after we returned the Regal was delayed returning to port because of a couple of crew members from the Grand being on board. The Grand had a smaller outbreak after these crew had been aboard.
We won’t sail until this gets sorted out.

  7. Is it better to let Princess cancel our October Med cruise or should we cancel ourselves?  Payment isn’t due until July. I’m thinking if we let Princess cancel it they might be more forthcoming with perqs that if we drop out on our own.  Thoughts?

  8. We were able to book flights from CVG to Barcelona and then from Rome to CVG.  No problems at all.

Did you book it from your personalizer?  Ours seemed to know where we’d be flying from and to for both legs.

If Eisenhower St gate is the one by the Walgreen's, that's the one we were delayed at--backed up onto 17th by the bridge.

7 ships were in port on the 23rd.

Yes, that’s the better of the 2 gates, IMO.  No checkpoint unlike the other gate. No check for documentation.  We got to PE at 10:30 and were on board by 10:45.

  10. This was posted in the EP page on the book of faces:

as it stands right now when sea trials commence senior engineers will be amassed from fincantieri shipbuilders to oversee the sea trials and the finish work will be mostly completed by the primary shipbuilder using staff from the discovery princess team......the date of sea trials is still being scheduled...my friend marco will be sitting in on the meeting on friday..i was supposed to be with the subcontracting team but that was cancelled due to coronavirus threat ...i am disappointed because i was on the sky princess sea trials so i could make comparisons but i will make a point at some time to sail on her.....”

I see you took an Uber off of the ship. Did you take an Uber in too? If so, any problem with security and an Uber driver? We are in Hollywood Beach from Wed-Sun without a car and we'll need either taxi or Uber to get to port.

Ask the Uber driver to use the Eisenhower St gate off 17th. If they enter via SR 84/Marina Blvd it can get really backed up with shuttle buses from hotels west of the port.

  12. In the past, we’ve stayed at the Rodeway Inn or Ramada on highway 84 just west of the airport. The have free shuttles, breakfast and a pool. Nice places but not fancy. Kind of out in the boondocks. We’ve taken an Uber to the beach before from there for something to do.

This year we tried the Fala Hotel, a small (12 rooms?) on Seville St, just off A1A half a block north of the Ritz Carlton.

They don’t offer shuttle service, but Uber service from the airport was about $18.00. Lately we’ve been Ubering to Port Everglades anyway to beat the crowds, so price wise it was about even with the 2 aforementioned properties.  The better location makes it a winner IMO.

It’s close to bars, restaurants, shops, liquor stores and pharmacies.  We were able to enjoy walking along the malecon and being this close to the beach made us feel like we were getting a jump on our vacation!

The room was clean, comfortable and newly renovated. It had everything we needed. I’d definitely stay there again!

As of early Feb. the Laser Range is out of operation due to being repaired.

It might be fixed by now?

I didn’t see it working when we were on board last week, 2/16-23.

And in an effort not to disappoint Husky61....Retreat pool is not part of the Sanctuary, and the Cabanas at the retreat pol have to be rented.
