  1. A quick shuttle has taken us to paradise, some call Barefoot Beach. where we can swim with the sea grass, step on coral and have Hornby help with any needs we have today. View to the beach. We were literally in the water in minutes. It’s hot today. Lisa found her floating ring. View to the ship. Some of the local fisherman are returning with the catch of the day.
  2. Docking this way gives the opportunity for great bollard and rope shots, without being whistled at. Those that know, know. @Sea Dog @Ocean Boy You even walk under the ropes.
  3. Being docked on the starboard side it does give a different view while walking the pier.
  4. I know. So strange. They are running traditional drills today as the horns are blowing at occasion. Wait, I just looked over ant the ship and they have swung the starboard life craft out.
  5. This morning we went to Chops for breakfast. The Windjammer looked busy so we thought we’d take advantage of this suite perk. Lisa had pancakes (no photos) and I had salmon and a bagel with cream cheese.
  6. Afterwards we headed to the 70s dance party. The Captain made another appearance. This time he wasn’t waving like Forest Gump. I think this Captain is more like the Captain from the Captain and Tennille, perhaps in homage of the 70s. Here’s the “Y” in MCA. Followed by the “C”. Some are still on the M. Lisa even came home with some bling.
  7. Dinner was really good at Jamie’s, especially when it is Italian food modelled by an Englishman. That explains this photo. A true Italian food fan will understand the problem with this table setting when soup is not being served. Anyone see the issue? @Ocean Boy will spot it in seconds. Apps were as follows Bruschetta Arugula salad. Crispy squid. Mains Traditional lasagna for Lisa. Non traditional Italian short rib. I blame the English crafted chef. 😉 and a side of truffle tagliatelle. I asked for a small portion and lo and behold they followed through. We were so full we actually skipped dessert. 🤯
  8. Dinner was Jamie’s last night. The sunset was spectacular. I was going to do a time lapse but there was nothing firm to stick the camera to. I have already lost one GoPro to the Caribbean Sea so I wasn’t going to sacrifice another. That being said, the sunset from the restaurant was out of this world. Thank you iPhone 11+ for these photos. That and whoever cleaned these windows last.
  9. And we are almost docked. What’s Strange, we are docking on the port side of the ship and not the starboard side. We’ve been here almost 10 times and never docked like this here before. Most of those times I’ve been on Oasis Class ships and once on Indy. Unique, and pretty cool, for us at least.
  10. We are off the coast of Haiti, and very close to Labadee. How do I know you ask? When I opened the sliding door to the balcony it immediately had the recognizable smell of Labadee. For those that have never been here, think of the scent that tickles your nose when you walk into/past the Schooner Bar.
  11. Many thanks for your concern. I caught an edge while doing a 360 and fell backwards on the wave. It was a big whiplash move for by neck. The second it happen I had a splitting headache but no concussion like symptoms. My heck is tight from the backwards fall though. Kinda like skin would be after a sunburn. Headache disappeared about an hour after it happened. Next mobility is good as well. I did a few more rides after the fall and then the line got long. I skipped riding in the later advanced session but will go this afternoon. I guess once you hit 50 things hit harder, so to speak.
  12. We are all here to help bring some brightness. It might not work every time, but hopefully we can help to distract you in a good way for a little while.
  13. We are soon ready to go for dinner. We are headed to Jamie’s to use our second D+ Bogo meal. Photos are not loading this afternoon, so I will have to try tonight or tomorrow from the beach.
  14. We used the showers a few times today. We love our salt water pool, especially how clean it is. That being said the pool here today will probably still be cleaner than the water in Labadee tomorrow. Going to be an amazing day tomorrow no matter the case.
  15. Would you believe me I said I brought it from home. I was going to carve something out of it tonight and take it to the straw market at Labadee tomorrow to sell, and see what happens. Either I’ll be heralded as hero or run out of town. It is actually what they have in the elevated seating area. I think it’s wood or possibly concrete coloured and textured to resemble wood.
  16. Late afternoon report from the cabin. It got too hot by the pool. Yes, I said too hot. remind me about that in January. We don’t have to do it all in one day, and we have to prep for our stop tomorrow. After all, it’s going be hotter in Haiti. 😉
  17. The band is now playing a reggae version of “Another day in Paradise by Phil Collins. The irony is not lost on by me, with what is happening feet away from them.
  18. There was a sprinkle of rain so the band took a break but are back at it again. The seas are calm and the breeze is nice. Ruh Roh…. Breaking news…. The second pool was just evacuated to a 4 short and 1 long blasts of a whistle. Must be code, for one type of long blast. 🤢 edit: hope it wasn’t a mudslide. 😂
  19. A wise woman once said, “you can’t drink all day unless you start in the morning”. Thank-you @maureencruiser
  20. We have been too. Holidays are often about calculated risks. Judging by the dancing at the worlds sexiest man earlier some here might need to bathe in sanitizer. They sure had fun though. Some photos might be posted later, if appropriate.😉😂
  21. Just like same “street meat”, hot dogs after a night of drinking. Yes, followed by peach, mango and strawberry daiquiris.
  22. That’s what I just did. Lisa went in the still open pool and she said it was probably 80F but full on sea salt water.
