  1. I live in San Diego, CA which is geographically very "south" but I don't think we are quite considered "Southerners" lol.....we certainly beat to our own drum in CA....
  2. We had this same experience in Costa Maya too. Around this time of year too, it was impossible to even get in the water, they did have people literally trying to rake it out but it was a pointless effort and they didn't even make a dent.
  3. Good to know I've been on that same fence and might just do the same!
  4. You definitely can and usually the Steakhouse has some of the more "top end" drink selections on the entire ship....it's the only place on the ship that has the champagne I like, and I often will go there just for a drink.
  5. This will be my first cruise sharing a cabin with non-family members. I am an early riser so plan to get up and out to not disturb the others still sleeping. However, I haven't ever been out and about early before. Where is food served early in the am and starting at what time? What bars are open early am for a bloody mary and what time? Like for example I have heard that Pig and Anchor serve a good bloody mary but will it be open at 7am etc? THANKS in advance!!!!
  6. How have I not been aware there is a sushi boat available in the MDR....good to know!
  7. Did the ship feel crowded? Full of kids? I am sailing with 4 teenagers so I'm likely to be more with the offender then the victim but just curious..... Did you eat at Jiji's or Cucina? TIA
  8. Thanks for the information as we sail on her in 8 days!
  9. So just out of curiosity, why is this? Is it some Charleston rule? Are those southern ears just too sensitive for loud speakers lol
  10. THANK YOU OP....I have not been to Jiji's previously but have a reservation for our cruise in 9 days and this post has made me SOOOOOOO much more excited for the experience!!!!! I hadn't even thought about the food or if it was good etc until this post lol
  11. Ok thanks, we are on the Panorama in 9 days so that's what I'll go by......
  12. I guess I didn't realize it was self-serve....I was thinking Royal where you point out what you want and they throw it together......
  13. Yes and IMO you will get better service for it!
  14. Is Fresh Creations only open for lunch? Only on days at sea? I have this crazy idea that I might eat a bit healthier on this coming cruise and ATM am telling myself I will get a salad for lunch as opposed to a Guy burger...time will tell of course. LOL TIA
  15. Glad to hear! I will give it a try as well at the end of this month when we eat there.
  16. I do remember sushi being free but I feel like it was only like a "happy hour" in the evening and there were only like 4 options each night. I'm a sushi snob so I haven't ever tried the rolls on Carnival but I do agree the prices seem fair.
  17. Yes, they will have a meet and greet for all age groups, and it is HIGHLY recommended that you encourage your 12/14-year-old to go the first night. At that age group they generally meet others and start just hanging out around the ship together and less in the actual club beyond the first night.
  18. They do usually hold a single mingle but do not have high expectations. Usually, it's hard to decipher the single mingle from those at the regular bar location and the turnout is quite low generally speaking. Not sure of the age demographic you are but you don't typically find a large selection of single men cruising.
  19. I LOVE Creme Brulee but do not care for "rose" flavored things....is it a subtle rose taste or is it quite strong ? TIA
  20. Yes it will be crowded, but the restaurants on Medano Beach always seem to be able to find a table/chairs for everyone.
  21. Mango Deck has a live cam on their website you can view for reference. Best way to get to Mango Deck is by water taxi from the tender location (lots of options will be available). Be prepared for lots of college age kids, loud music and partying if you go to Mango deck. If you would like somewhere a little less frat party but still a good time consider "Sand Bar" its just a few spots down from Mango deck and has really cheap/good messages upstairs.
  22. I think the difference between those who "smelled pot" vs those who didn't is more based in those who are "looking to smell" of pot vs those who are minding their own business and focusing on their vacation because I agree pot is likely on all sailings just depends on who you are....like these threads often make me realize I REALLY don't pay attention to strangers like some people seem to.
  23. Just read a follow up article on the situation, the FBI has requested search warrants for both their room on the ship, and also their vehicle. That said, they still believe it to be a medical situation.
  24. I only eat bacon once or twice a year but when I do it has to be thin and crispy!
