  1. I just sent Mr. Frau another email asking the same question second time, to put in writing that our room will have a sofa bed. Here is the copy/paste of what I wrote:

    "Dear Mr. Frau:

Can you put in writing that our room will have a sofa bed as you told me on the phone? In your previous email it only said "your stateroom will be able to accommodate your three guests" it doesn't not say anything about the sofa bed.

Accomodate 3 guests can meant anything such as put in a roll away bed for 3rd person.

I'm hoping it is not a roll away bed which will put near the sofa and put a sheet or mattress on top to join the roll away bed with the sofa.

I'm expecting a room designated for 3 which will have a sofa bed. A sofa bed is a bed that fold out from a sofa and during the day time I can fold it and tuck it away inside of the sofa.

    Thanks

    "

  2. When my grandkids visit, one gets a cot, the other a blow up camping bed. They never seemed to mind. What's the big deal over a sleeper couch and or cot?

You are comparing apples to orange. Free sleeping arrangement in a house for your grand kids vs. a limited space small cabin for 3 adults on a cruise ship which you paid for.

On a cruise ship, an interior room is small, it will takes up lots of space for a roll away bed, even when it is fold up. Plus my daughter is 13 years old, the roll away bed will be uncomfortable smaller size comparing to a sofa bed. When booking through Royal Caribbean, 13 years old and above are classified as adults, we book a room for 3 adults, her cruise cost is the same as any other adults, why put 3 adults in a room designated for 2 and put in a temporary rollaway bed.

  3. OP, curious to know if you've heard anything else. I'm in the same boat (pun intended). We booked a Neighborhood Guarantee on Harmony of the Seas and have been assigned 11717. Deck plans on RCI's US web site can't be accessed for Deck 11 for our cruise date (how convenient...), but looking at them on the UK site, the room is shown as a double occupany (rather, no sofa bed or pullman). I spoke to C&A today, and when getting no where with rep, he reached out to Resolutions, and came back with their response that it would be a sofa bed (in spite of the published deck plans) or a rollaway. I asked for Resolutions directly. I've left it with them for now that Resolutions is reaching out to housekeeping on the ship to confirm what exists in the room. I've never known a guarantee to have a rollaway as the 3rd bed, and I don't want a rollaway blocking access to the balcony in the evenings. If the response is that it will be a rollaway, I'm expecting to be moved to a cabin clearly marked on the deck plans as accommodating 3 people. Which of course, in my category (4I) does not exist.

so far when I asked Mr. Frau to put in writing that our room will have a sofa bed like what he said when he called me on the phone and the only thing I got back through his email is:

"As I stated during our conversation, your stateroom will be able to accommodate your three guests."

What he put down in writing does not mention anything about the sofa bed in the email vs. what he told me verbally on the phone. Room accommodate your three guests better not be a roll away bed for my daughter.

In my situation, currently there is not a sofa bed in the room, but they said will put one during peak season.

Here is another web site to view deck plans for Oasis

    http://www.royalcaribbeanincentives.com/ship/oasis-of-the-seas/deck-plan/

  4. I got an email replied from Mr. Frau on why they can't put me in those 6 rooms. Here is a copy/paste from his email

"Thank you for your e-mail. It is a pleasure to be of further assistance.

As I stated during our conversation, your stateroom will be able to accommodate your three guests. Since you reserved an interior guarantee we will not be able to change your stateroom.

Thank you for your loyalty with Royal Caribbean International. We look forward to welcoming you onboard Oasis of the Seas."

  5. If you have a phone number, I would call "Mr. Frau" back and ask him why they can't put you in one of the six available triples?

I emailed him that question including all those 6 room numbers to see what he says. The supervisor lady I talked with yesterday, the reason they can't move us into those room because they are not 4V room and she strongly said that we booked a 4V room and we can not switch to another category room. She also said there are no other 4V room for 3 available to move us into.

If they want to put a roll away bed in our room, just upgrade us to a jr. suite, it will have plenty of space for a roll away bed. :)

  6. Yesterday the supervisor from the C&A number I called said that she checked with the revenue department and told me that they did renovate that room added a sofa bed but the deck plan is not updated. Today Mr. Frau told me something different, they will put in a sofa bed in that room during peak season. He told me I can call him directly at his work phone if I don't see the sofa bed there on my embarkation day. Now I think about it, embarkation day is on Sunday, I don't think executive leaders are working in the weekend. None of this make sense.

Next time I will think twice before booking a guarantee room. When booking the guarantee room most people concerns about the location of the room, but never thought about concerns of what type of bed they will put in it for 3rd person.

  7. Anyone having issues with cruise planner? Usually when I log in, I see my crown and anchor number and under it says Diamond. When I logged in today to look at excursions, it says 0 points, Pre-Gold.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

It happened to both of my wife and I accounts one time, we just log out and about 10 minutes later log back in and saw our points and status back.

  8. Mr. Frau just called me. He sounds like a nice person. He said he himself did a thorough research on this and found out that room during peak season, they convert it to a 3 person room by putting a sofa bed it, and I have his words on it. He also said I can call him directly on his phone line on embarkation day if I found out there is no sofa bed in our room.

  9. I just did a mock booking for the same cruise on the same exact date, but this time I book only for 2 adults for an interior room, and all the rooms shows up for 2 people are the category 4V. Now I'm pretty sure their system made a mistake putting our family of 3 in the room designated for 2 people and they won't let us switch to another room, because we have to stay in category 4V.

I got a replied email back from Mr. Frau, he's from the Executive Office of Royal Caribbean, his email acknowledge they received the email I sent to Mr. Bayley and they are looking into it. I replied to Mr. Frau with the attached image picture of my mock booking for 2 people showing all the rooms are category 4V.

  10. That's nonsense about the categories. A guarantee category has a specific designation, like Z1, but once a cabin is assigned, your cabin is THAT category.

12359 is category 4V. THEY chose to give you a cabin that has only two berths.

    10423

    7452

    3811

    3830

    3838

    3842

All interiors; all with three berths; all available on your cruise.

Thank you Merion_Mom for sending me those cabin numbers.

When I first book the guarantee room, my invoice receipt show "ZI-GTY" for my stateroom, after they assigned my room it shows "4V-12539 Interior".

I'll keep everyone posted on how they handle this issue.

    Thanks

  11. Thank you everyone for your replies. When called the C&A number at first I talk with someone on the phone, then asked to talk to their supervisor, then he transfer me to a lady she claims to be from the resolution department.

Right now I'm just hoping that there is really a sofa bed in that room and the floor deck plan map is not updated as she claimed after she putting me on hold for about 5 minutes while she was checking with the revenue department.

By maritime law or policy, when booking a room for 3, is there a law or policy that the room must have a permanent bedding for 3? Permanent bedding I meant there are already beds in there for 3 people, instead of find another portable/roll away bed to put in.

    Thanks

  12. Lesson learned from booking a guarantee room (at least on the Oasis). The interior rooms for 3, same square footage size, has different categories such as 1v 2v 3v, depends on the locations, decks, and differs in price. These are the rooms you can choose on your own. RCI came up with with the category 4V (same size) these are what they called Interior Guarantee and there is a limit number of them and locate in specific location. Probably the location where one least likely to choose. Therefore when I asked to switch to another interior room for 3, even though they have it available for category 1V, 2V, and 3V, but they won't switch us to those.

  13. After a long hold with the supervisor on the phone, she came back and told me that cabin have a sofa bed after she check with the revenue department and their deck plan map is not updated and there are no other 4V category cabins they can move us to and there is nothing they can do. I'm skeptical because the cruise vacation receipt have the roll away bed under my daughter name and also none of the deck plans I found on the internet shows that cabin with a sofa bed.

This is my first time booking a guarantee room and it is not a good experience, at first thinking that interior room without view does not matter where it is located at, but didn't expect about what kind of bed they will put in it.

  14. I'm on the phone with the C&A supervisor, putting me on hold. They giving me problem from switching room, they said the category cabin I have is 4V and there are no more room left for that category.

they told me that cabin suppose to have a sofa bed, but why on my invoice receipt it says "ROLL AWAY BED" for my daughter, that's what I told them and they don't have an answer to that.

  15. Hello everyone,

I booked Oasis of the Seas early April this year for sailing date in August 2018 for family of 3, wife, daughter 13 years old and I. I booked the interior room guaranteed (booked directly on RCI web, non refundable deposit). I just paid the final balance and as soon as it is paid, I got our room assigned. It is room 12539 on deck 12. I look at the deck plan and saw the room and to my surprise, I don't see it has any symbols which indicate this room has a sofa bed or pullman bed to accompany 3rd person. I then went to the automated phone system to email me the invoice confirmation. I saw under my daughter name "ROLL AWAY BED".

What is a roll away bed ? It is not a sofa bed? Is it like a rolling folding bed, where do they store it during the day time, in our room or in their storage area and bring back to our room at night?

I would like to hear comments from anyone who experience using roll away bed in your state room. If you have any pictures, for roll away bed, I will greatly appreciated.

When I book a guarantee interior room for 3 adults, I was expecting a room which accomodate 3 people which meant with a sofa bed. Didn't expect a room for 2 and they put in a roll away bed. I'm about to call RCI to see if they can change the room.

    Thanks

  16. One more question, from Comfort Suites web site, it says the check-in time is from 3:00pm. Our ship will be there at around 8:00am and we'll be head over shortly, is there any issue if we check in at around 8:30 am even if they don't have any rooms available yet? We don't intend to go to our room.

    Thanks
