  1. I got the email Thursday and did a mock booking for our 12-night March 2020 Australia cruise. I had booked AQ on board the Eclipse last month when they had the 4 perks free promotion with a $100 pp NRD. I was able to save $2300 (total, not each) by eliminating one perk ($300 OBC) and I didn’t have to increase my deposit. The new drink package is Classic, not Premium so I can upgrade to Premium for $144 each if I choose to. If I choose to do that, I’m still $1700 ahead. It’s a no-brainer. I called my (big box) TA and they took care of everything.
  2. Thanks. I looked it up on the X site and it said Premium. I did a screen print and I left a voicemail for the on board future travel agent and he was able to confirm it and change my reservation. He had also charged me for an A1 cabin, not the A2 (Captain’s Club upgrade) so he lowered the price by $300. One must watch them every step of the way.
  3. I’m aboard the Eclipse now and did a future booking today for Australia in March. I don’t know what the cruise price was prior to this sale. The advantage of booking on the ship is that the non-refundable deposit is only $100 per person (which I’m willing to lose if I have to cancel due to an emergency) and we get $200 OBC. My box store TA will give me about 8% back ($700) in a cash card. Also, please note: the beverage package on this sale is Classic, not Premium.
  4. Definitely! Blu is a great restaurant. Great food, healthy, intimate, great service.
  5. We’ll be on the Eclipse for an almost identical cruise Aug 4 (with our daughter and grandsons) and we did your cruise exactly one year ago on the Millennium. This will be our fourth Alaska cruise. You will love it and I look forward to your daily updates.
  6. First of all, thanks for all of your input. Based on all I’ve read, I have withdrawn my bids. Without the 4 perks and extra points, in my mind the extra space isn’t worth it. We’re already in Aqua and we love Blu. I called the Captain,s Club last night and they told me I would get the Suite points, but seeing your responses above and going to their website, that is not true. In response to your pricing questions, we’re paying $5800 for 12 nights or approximately $241/pp per night. It’s very pricey as it’s a Christmas/New Year’s Cruise. The minimum upgrade bid for Sky Suite was $1200 or $50 per night per person.
  7. I just put minimum bids on Sky and Celebrity Suites for our December 21 Silhouette cruise. The big benefit will be the extra Captain’s Club points putting us into Elite Plus at the end of this cruise. Big deal!
