How did you book it?  I went to their website and it looks nice but I couldn't find a link to sign up or what prices were.  Also how do you get there?

    I booked through https://www.resortforaday.com/product-p/orjajd.htm

They include transportation to the resort and then back to the ship. I have read some reviews and most are from people that have stayed there for a vacation. There are a few reviews that I have read about the day pass on TA and they all rave about the place for the most part.

WE are also looking at resort for a day.  Coming into Ocho Rios.. in Jan.  Narrowed down to Jewel Dunn's River Beach (All Adult)   or  Jewel Runaway Bay Beach (Family friendly with water park).

Beaches....One review says Dunn's has a small rocky beach.  Does anyone know which is the better beach??

Food /Drink... Runaway has food/drink earlier.  Dunns opens ll and 12 for food.

We don't have little kids,so is there an area away from the kid activity at Runaway?

Please help me with this decision....   We are in port 8-4

When are you going? I will be at Jewel Dunn"s River for a day pass on Jan 22nd. If you are going after that I will try

and post how we made out there.

I'm so confused about all the resorts we have to chose from in Ocho Rios?? My DH and I know we want a nice quiet resort with a NICE BEACH. Don't care about the pool.....we go to the islands for the beaches. Looking through the different ones available many have water parks. Would it be wise to go to an adult only resort without a waterpark since we have no kids with us this time around. We are looking for a quiet beach and drinks and a good book.

I have been looking also for my January cruise. It will be just me and my husband. We have been to Jamaica

twice and have done Dunn's River Falls etc. I am leaning toward Jewel Dunn's River Beach Resort.

It looks to be the closet to the port (which my husband wants). I have read reviews on this resort

    and also Jewel Paradise.

There are pros and cons for both.

    Jewel Dunn's - adult only

Con - Has a small beach and I have read there is a fence near the beach that locals hang at to try and sell you "stuff".

Pro - 15 minutes for port.

    Jewel Paradise - adult only

Con - 30 minutes from port which husband does not like. Vendors on the beach.

    When are you going?

  4. They do pride themselves in being a family resort but I know my son was a bit disappointed with the lack of friends to play with when we went in March 2016. We are going in January 2019 too. The waterpark is very separate from the pool, beach and food areas. If there are kids, I would assume they would stay by the waterpark. Jewel Dunn's River is Adult only so maybe that would be a better choice. Enjoy your trip :)

Thank you. I have been looking at the reviews for Jewel Dunn's River and I have read that there is not much

of a beach there. We would rather have a beach over pool(s). I see you said the beach area is very nice at Jewell Runaway.

  5. We spent 7 days at Jewel Runaway Bay in March of 2016. We loved it! We are headed back there with Resort For A Day in Jan 2019. Lots of choices for food. We loved the grill by the pool. The beach area is beautiful with lots of chairs both in the sun and the shade. Pools are nice - we loved the one with the swim up bar and infinity edge. There is also an amazing waterpark if you have kids. It's a nice resort but smaller and a quick walk to anything you'd want to do. Let me know if you have questions :) When we were there in March over spring break it never felt crowded.

Thank you....I was wondering about it being crowded. We don't have kids, just the two of us 58 and 64. I'm

wondering were there a lot of kids? We are going in January and looking to relax. Also, looking at Jewell Dunn's Falls and Clubhotel. We are docking in Ocho Rios.

  6. Did you go to Runaway Bay yet?

I’ve used resortforaday as well from Falmouth to the Hilton Rose Hall - and currently have them booked from Ocho Rios to Runaway Bay. Have also used them in the Bahamas.

  7. Just buy the Southwest EarlyBird for your flight home - you get checked in before most of the other passengers so you can get good seats. Then print the paper boarding passes at kiosk at the airport.

A small price to pay for no stress and peace of mind.

I use it for every after cruise return flight

Yes, this is what I had planned on doing either way (early bird) but I was worried about checking in at the kiosk at the airport. Once I do that then where do we go with our luggage?? To the SW counter?? It seems like there is always a long line at the counter when we have walked by it at FLL after checking in at the curb. We plan on self assist to get off the ship early and Uber to FLL from POM..our flight is at 11:35 am on a Saturday. Thanks for the help with this....

  8. Can you purchase just a 24 hr package on the Horizon, I don't see it listed. I need it just to print our SW boarding passes. On my last cruise I bought the Social Plan and it was terrible. I went to customer service on the third day to tell them it was taking much too long to get on. I told them I was testing it to see how it would work on the last day just to get my boarding passes, they gave me an upgrade on the last day for 24 hours just to get them and took me off the last few days of the Social Plan. I guess I could print them at the airport, I have never done that. We always have them in hand and do curbside check in, fast and easy. Any input on printing them at the airport...FLL.
