  1. If you play in the casino, I have a come up with a great way to practice. About a week before the cruise, while driving down the highway, every now and then I will roll the window down and throw a twenty out. It then hurts less when I lose in the casino.

    Love this one...

We take this a step further and line the hamper with a (clear) plastic trash bag liner and then when it is time to pack...just gather it up, squeeze the air, tie, and pop it into the suitcase.

Great idea....I will do this next cruise!!!

  2. I thought you were going to say Carnival mailed you your shoes!!! Years ago, I took a small hardside lunch sized cooler onboard, and later I set it out with the luggage on the last night. When we were searching for our luggage at the terminal, I totally forgot about it. A couple weeks later I got a package in the mail from Carnival - it was that old, dirty, beat up cooler, packaged beautifully and mailed to my house!!! :')

    That would have been funny!!!

  3. Bring crappy clothes that you can throw away.

But this might just be a guy thing. I save various t-shirts, socks, swimming trunks, etc that I would otherwise trash...and wear them one more time on a cruise. End of day...trash they go. Opens up space in the suitcase, reduces laundry at home, and less stuff in your cabin. We have an upcoming cruise in August. I already have 3 shirts, one swimming trunks, a pair of old tennis shoes (great for excursions) and a stretched out pair of crocs that won't be coming home with me. I won't wear them in the MDR, but any other time is in play.

I won't tell my husband about this;p I tried to do that with a pair of high heal shoes. I used them for formal nights and then left them in the trash basket. The room steward took them out....I put them back in and he took the out again.. I waited until the morning we left and left them on the floor. They were perfectly good shoes, the strap wouldn't stay around the back of my foot.

  4. We always get fttf...On our last cruise we pulled up in an Uber and when we got out there was a loooooong line.

It looked like a couple 100 people if not more. I asked my son to go to the front of the line and see about the fttf line while we waited in the long line. There were two women in front of me and I was talking about fttf and they told me that was the only line to wait in, not nicely either. My son came back and said "come on" we (4 of us) went to the front of the line around the corner and there was another entrance for fttf and we walked right in!!!

So..I get fttf for this reason and also so I don't have to stand in a long line at CS, priority boarding for tender (grand cayman), getting luggage early (so I can touch up clothes in the self serve laundry) and be done with it, etc. As for the two ladies in the long line...they were also in a long line at CS and I walked up to the fttf window and they gave me a dirty look...while I waited my turn while the person at the count finished one of the ladies walked past me and tried to see my card....I showed her and said "fttf" baby:D :DWell worth it to us!!

  5. Okay....my chair hog story.

I went up to the pool deck around 7:00am and I was at one end of a row of chairs, there was a woman

and a man standing at the other end. I don;t remember how many chairs there were in the row but they

were all available, maybe 8-10 chairs. I put mine and my husbands towels down on two chairs on my end and the woman at the other end said to me "I need this whole row":o:o her husband did not say a word.

I told her I was taking the two on my end. She grabbed the towels she had put down on the few chairs she

had started to commendare and stormed off to another area with her husband behind her. When they passed me

her husband looked at me and rolled his eyes. I hope his cruise went better!!

  6. Has anyone been here recently? I'm thinking of booking for my January cruise.

I was looking on Trip Adviser and the latest reviews

are not that good. Granted the reviews are for people that were staying at the resort for

a few days or so, not for just one day. My concern is what is being said about the beach.

I'm not really going to sit around a pool all day. I want to be on the beach and in the water

for the day. When some of the posts on TA mentioned the beach conditions the respond

from the resort was "The resort has been suffering from the climate change hazards, which has robbed us of our beach space. We are working with the environmental department to regain and sustain our island's beaches".

  7. In case anyone wants to wash a load, or iron an item or 2, here are the locations of the launderettes. There is 1 iron and 1 Board, so I always do my ironing before I turn in for the night. There is never anyone in there then

    Deck 2 - mid elevators/across from 2381

    Deck 6 -mid elevators/across from 6347

    Deck 7 - mid elevators/across from 7345

    Deck 8 - mid elevators/across from 8339

    Deck 9 - front elevators/ across from 9278

    Thank you.

Good to know. I do all my ironing for the whole week as soon as I get on board so I dont have to worry about it and also dont have to compete for the use of the iron. You can get it all done for the entire cruise in about 30 mins and forget about it the rest of the week!

    Same here....usually finished before muster!

  8. Anyone know if there is a way to request to be put on a waiting list for a cabana?

Keep checking excursions every day...a couple of times a day if you can. We cruised last month and when we booked the cabanas were sold out. I kept checking and one day there was one available. The last few months before my cruise I think a cabana came up available again about 4 times.

  9. Uhhh...why is her dad opening her mail and throwing away evidence?! [emoji15]

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

The parents open all the mail.....When she had to get a passport for the cruise she had the passport mailed to our house because she didn't trust it not getting lost etc at her house. Just the way they are I guess.....again no conspiracy here.

  10. Envelope is gone....at the recycle plant !!! Unfortunately the envelope had been open and photo removed for a day or two before she knew it was there. I guess they open each others mail!!! She found the photo and than asked her family about it and dad said he opened it and forgot to tell her about it. When I asked her about the envelope the trash had been picked up that morning.....gone! I asked my son again.....he did not mail it and had nothing to do with it!! I guess just one of those mysteries that we may never know !!!

  11. Is it not a joke by someone who was on the cruise? Your son or another relative? I seriously doubt NCL would have sent this to them...

Sounds more like it was bought a year ago by someone and it's now being sent as a reminder of the cruise or something.

Nope....it was the four of us on the cruise and we did not do it.
