  1. That’s what is so odd. It was working but sudden has been stripped of all its functionality for me.
  2. People that meet me and my friend HaveDogWillTravel have admitted the same thing to us, both thinking we are male. Nope, we are both female!
  3. I am pretty sure you are correct.
  4. You are right in that the first formal night was the first full sea day but the second formal night was on the 2nd to last sea day, so the 25th. They rarely have a formal night on the last full day of the cruise.
  5. I don’t believe they do but they do have ATM machines onboard.
  6. It is working for my upcoming cruise, I’m sure the IT staff is not maintaining it for cruises much past when it is supposed to be shut down.
  7. thank you for that. I may just wait a couple of days and see what happens.
  8. Actually, it no longer is working. I kept it but nothing will display. But thanks for sharing what should have been a possible solution.
  9. I just posted this in another thread. Not sure how it’s going to work out as the old app doesn’t seem to be very functional any longer. So, not sure if this even deserves a new thread so just adding it here. I have several cruises booked for the future with Princess and used the new app almost exclusively on one cruise already. I like the new app for the most part but have a couple of serious concerns with it: I could watch the muster safety video but it would never check me off as having done so. I held onto the old app to play the video again and it gave me my check mark ✅that I had viewed it. As mentioned, I have several cruises booked with Princess but wanted to look into making some arrangements for a B2B cruise I have booked for March and April. Before those cruises, we have two other cruises booked. So, I logged out of my new app to log in under my booking number for my future cruises. It still takes me back to my upcoming cruise next month instead of the one associated with the booking number I entered. Hmmmm? That’s not going to work out for us very well, as I can’t even enter a cruise to order my medallion, reserve dinner, see the events .. just basic planning functionality is gone. I may have to go into the website for some of this cruise planning but it still won’t give me some of the things I will need. Is anybody else experiencing this issue? Maybe someone has a work around?
  10. I get that screen often. I close down that page, clear my cookies and open the page back up again. It works for me .. hope it also works for you.

  12. And thanks to you, too for always helping everyone!
  13. I noticed that, too but they simply changed the door panel. There’s a small P up in the right corner of the screen if you are enrolled in the prizes. PS .. there’s a place in the new app to inform you of any winnings.
  14. I just made my payment via Amex through the personalizer and got the statement credit listed on my Amex the next day.
  15. I am sure you are a very kind person! I can tell that just by following many of your posts and learning that you foster pups.
  16. I love that ‘Now we’re home’ feeling, no matter where one gets it. Happy fellow passengers makes for a better cruise for everyone. There was really nothing wrong with our Celebrity cruise, we just felt kind of bored. We missed the ongoing activities and all the live music venues, both day and evening. Don’t get me wrong, there were things I really love on Celebrity and if they ever came back to the SF, I’d hop on them in a heartbeat. I like the newer ships and they don’t seem to be home porting them on the west coast. We cruise for the ship experience and not really for the ports of call. Oftentimes, we never even get off the ship when in port. One huge plus that Celebrity has that Princess won’t seem to consider is their nonsmoking casino. We enjoy some gambling and we just get smoked out of there. The Royal is the only Princess ship that has a true nonsmoking area, but it is small and doesn’t have a good variety of machines. Now they’ve sent her to Australia, there’s not much of a chance we will be cruising on her for awhile. On the Discovery, they’ve really done a disservice to their passengers for not putting doors into their casino as you sometimes can’t even enjoy a drink in nearby Crooners when the casino is open. If only I could design all the ships .. LOL!
  17. We’ve also cruised on many different lines, including the ‘family oriented lines’, such as Carnival, RCCL and Norwegian. We’ve always had great cruises. We had settled in on Princess recently, mainly because they require short or no flights for us. But, I like what they’ve done with their format for keeping passengers entertained since the post CoVid restart. They’ve had such creative ideas for games, shows, crafts, cultural events, lectures, etc. I also love that venues to grab a bite to eat at various venues. Our go to place is the piazza ..and oftentimes, the kiddos that join in on these competitions are so much fun to watch, especially when they compete against the officers. Their enjoyment is infectious. We sailed on a 5 night 4th of July cruise from LA and as you can imagine, there were so many children onboard. The activities staff actually created some fabulous events for the kiddos and it was so much fun to watch! They even had Baby Races in the piazza one afternoon. Never were we bothered by any of the many children onboard that sailing. They were really a well behaved demographic and that’s sometimes a rarity.
  18. I think everyone should try a variety of cruiselines, based on their budget. Everyone enjoys something different. While we don’t exactly relish having a ton of screaming kids onboard, obnoxious adult passengers can be so much worse. So, our style of cruising is actually met quite nicely on Princess, that wasn’t always the case. We loved Celebrity and have a have elite status on that line. But, last year we went on Celebrity, followed up with a Princess cruise. We stepped onto Princess and felt at home and entertained after being rather bored on Celebrity. To each his own, I say! We didn’t used to feel that way so there are constant changes on every cruise line happening. Cruise on another line or two, maybe even on 3 or 4 different lines. See what works best for you! That just speaks to good planning and choices. You’ll easily find something that fits your style. We all work too hard to save our money only to be disappointed with our vacation choice. Bon voyage with whatever you choose.
  19. I always miss great Thai or Chinese food while onboard, although I think the Majestic does a decent job with their pan Asian food. I really loved the Indian food on the Royal and the Discovery last year. I like spicy food and it fit the bill. We were just in Mexico on the Discovery a bit over a week ago and although I really have no complaints about anything onboard, I couldn’t agree that churros, salsa and guacamole were a spread of Mexican food. I won’t eat churros (just deep fried dough with sugar) but, I must say, the guacamole and salsa were pretty good. Both seemed to be handmade from fresh ingredients. BTW, I make some killer Mexican food at home that is hard to beat, if I do say so myself.
  20. I will book on the majestic just for that noodle bar! Sooooo very yummy! but unlike what others may say, it gets very busy there.
  21. There is and it is maybe even predetermined and not affected at all by your door being opened. We won only early on when it was first introduced and nothing in our last dozen + cruises.
  22. Same here! I would love to have my breakfast every morning in the designated specialty restaurant and the reserve class dining.
  23. I have several of the smaller J-hook ones so, left it on one of the safe on the Ruby that wouldn’t pop open on its own. It worked like a charm. I wonder if it’s still there.
  24. I agree with @cjpj. Why not download the new one now as you can still use the old one. Determine which one will allow you to do what you need to do. I had both the old and new app on my cruise that ended a week ago. I tried to use the new app exclusively. The only issue I had is that it wouldn’t allow me to go through the whole muster drill and give me my check mark for completing it. I ended up pulling it up on my old app to complete that requirement. And, towards the end of the cruise, it was missing the locations for the events in JourneyView so wouldn’t allow me to bookmark anything. But, other than that, I liked it better and I did try using it right after the new app was released.
