  1. From what I’ve seen on my account, they might come out with an offer every six to twelve months. The ones for Princess and Holland came out a month or two back. Once used, you have to wait for the next offer. They were offering much of anything after CoVid but now, I am seeing them again. You can be sure that someone here on CC will mention when they are offering them again. They aren’t sent to everyone’s cards but I got one on my Everyday Blue card. So happy when these show up!
  2. I believe that is referred to as the Caribe Cafe on the Crown class ships. They oftentimes have a regional menu back there at night and I love that. I don’t go to the buffet very often, but when I do, the more interesting food is always there in the back.
  3. We don’t get it for us at home as Costco has so many options for a lot less $$$. But you are so right about the glass. It makes all the difference in the world. We do purchase the Rombauer from time to time at home, though. I am perfectly happy with Wente Riva Ranch at a much lower cost. If they had that onboard, I’d be happy as a clam.
  4. Well, of course, Rombauer is the best and they had that in stock by the glass as recently as last July. Now, it’s only sold by the bottle. It’s been bought out by Gallo, so maybe they just don’t contract with them for their wines. Or maybe those, like me, that love it so much don’t order anything else. We found a lovely bottle of Hartford Chardonnay at Princess Live. We searched the whole cruise for that and only found it on the last day, which was our first time at that bar. I also like Mer Soleil but the one with the Yellow label, not the ‘Silver’. I like a heavier, oaky and somewhat buttery Chardonnay. The Flowers is without those attributes, it’s more along the lines of a Sauvignon Blanc to me, crisp and without much character. The Staggs Leap, Hands of Time, is decent but still nowhere near as good as the Hartford Chardonnay. It used to be on the Plus menu .. not sure what it now or if they even have it.
  5. Yes, indeed. It should breathe anywhere from 30 minutes up to 4 hours. If it’s been sitting on the shelf after being open for a couple of days, it’s just not worth the $28 a glass. The Caymus is delish!
  6. In my many Princess cruises, I’ve never even seen Planks or Steamers. That doesn’t mean they don’t pop up on occasion, I’ve just never noticed them, nor have I looked for them. To me, it wouldn’t be worth it as while I love most all seafood, I don’t much care for mussels. And there is nothing on the Planks menu that interests me. I absolutely love the Salty Dog GastroPub, Alfredos and the Sushi place, which the combination of those three are only available on the Royal class ships .. maybe on the new Sun, too? That combination makes a 7-10 night cruise quite appealing without ever having to go to the MDR. I really think they should allow those with the premier (or plus package for two times) to order pizza for no charge when there is no Alfredo’s or GiGi’s onboard. That is just my wish but I certainly don’t make the rules.
  7. I stand corrected then. I read that yesterday, people were still getting the old price.
  8. I think you can still get the old price if you book it right now.
  9. I was looking for that thread so I could go back and thank you for your help when I stumbled across this thread. I get so easy distracted (also a senior) once I posted my success here on this thread. Anyway, thank you so much for your help.
  10. We feel the premier package is definitely worth it on the Royal class ships due to all their casual eating venues. We always get at least the plus package but question the value of upgrading to the premier package on the Grand / Crown class ships.
  11. Not the person who mentioned the Zin but they have a great Seghesio Zin for what I reemeber as only being $1 over the $15 plus package limit. I also think their Grgich Hills Merlot, for around $18 is a great wine. Their Caymus can is lovely but I believe it’s now $28 a glass. It’s worth it to have once in a while but not if the bottle has been sitting open for a great deal of time. We splurge when we see it’s just been opened within the hour.
  12. I used to feel the same way about the Discovery but have cruised on her quite a bit lately and the GastroPub bar and the Crown Grill Bar have some wonderful selections of wine. it was even better than some of the wines we found at Vines last year. We even found a really nice Chardonnay at the Princess Live Bar a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully, they will be going all out with the wines and liquor ordered for your cruise on the Discovery.
  13. I was having the same issue and someone on these boards told me to try it again later. I waited a couple of days, which took me to this morning, and it worked to pull up a future cruise, not the next cruise. I don’t know if I really had to wait two days …
  14. It is probably used for room steward or luggage storage. You should be perfectly safe from any excessive noise in A520.
  15. The way it works at The Salty Dog Gastropub on the Discovery, you can sit at one of the tables during the day but they move you out to get the tables ready for dining at 4:30 PM. While you can use the bar even if not dining, the tables are only for diners after 5:00 PM. They also use this location for a pop up Crab Shack on some of the sea days, so, I imagine they will request you move around 11:00 AM to set up the room for lunch. PS .. I hear tell that the GastroPub on the Discovery will be turned into an O’Malleys in the future so, that’s why I am comparing it.
  16. The prize will show up on your app. As stated, it’s probably predetermined and not really associated with you actually opening your door .. but on the possible chance that it is, you can just take turns being the first one to walk up to your door. You can work out ahead of time how it will be shared if you win. That may be the best way to handle it. As for the P on the screen, it is there to indicate if you are enrolled in the Princess prizes contest.
  17. We’ve cruised on HAL a few times in the past and really enjoyed it. While it may be hard to give up the loyalty perks, it’s definitely worth a try.
  18. Coming from the west coast, so very glad to know this.
  19. I believe you can sit at the bar at anytime and at the table during the day if it’s not yet open.
  20. Someone clouded me in on it as well, which is how I knew. I really never knew if it was doing anything, though. Maybe if I’d won something, I’d know that it was working.
  21. Once your ownership of your stocks has been verified, you will be able to go back in to choose the cruise(s) you want to apply it to. If I recall, it took about a week in all before the credit was applied to mine.
  22. We’ve gone 3 times, each time in Sept as we celebrate an anniversary and a birthday in Sept. My DH is colorblind as well so, the seeing the colors was not our main objective. What we did get was decent weather .. not great but decent. We had some great experiences on those sailings. We were deciding if we wanted to back but decided on the Southern Caribbean instead … guess what, the hurricane hit up in the New England states so we dodged a bullet. perhaps late October is a better time to go.
  23. I had no idea! To this date, I’ve never used an ATM machine. I don’t plan on starting now. 😂
