Are you serious ? I guess you don't understand the point. It is not about the drinks, it is about the possibility to be with Diamond and higher, cruise loving old and new friends. Having a drink or two, or three, will chatting about past and future cruises.
serious as a heart attack. i said this is what i would like to see. i can enjoy my drinks anytime. this is coming, it is only a matter of time before RCL bean counters can see the money saved with the dia lounge closing and freeing up their bar servers, money saved on drinks and food. as i said, I any many others are all for this. i respect your opinion. respect mine.

On another thread there was speculation that the Majesty nightly D event may be history starting this New Year and that D and above will only get 3 drinks on card. As is the case on Empress. Could it be the OP is asking about the status of the nightly event?
I would like to see this on all ships, but make the 3 drinks to be used any time of the day.

you are correct. if you do not wish to dress for formal night and the MDR, the windjammer is open.

I think you will see enough people wearing shorts in the MDR on most nights, maybe even on what used to be formal nights.
what do you mean by "what used to be formal nights". they still have formal night and the dress code is to be respected.

cost of taxi from port of Miami to MIA and how long of a ride time wise?

does anyone know the cost of a taxi from Miami Pier to the Miami Airport >>

are cruise ships stopping at Labadee since Matthew hit Haiti ???

-
does anyone know the cost per day to park in Bayonne pier parking deck ??
-
The standard rate is 27.00 plus tip for transportation in either direction. There are plenty of taxies available at both MIA and at the Port Of Miami.
thank you for the quick and accurate response. that means for us $32 each way. $27 fare and $5 tip. i like to have the correct amount ready when we get in the cab. thanks again

anyone know the price for a taxi for 2 from Miami airport to Miami pier ????

Any info on the new colored sea pass card you will get depending on your cabin choice or C&A status?.
-
There's no difference in recommended tips for an Oceanview vs an Interior cabin, or for a balcony - all of those are considered 'standard' staterooms. The higher rate you saw is what's recommended for Suites. Here's what the RC website says:
Effective on cruises departing on or after May 1, 2016, Royal Caribbean will automatically add a $13.50 USD gratuity for standard staterooms, $16.50 USD for Suite guests, to each guest's SeaPass® account on a daily basis.

that is great. they work hard for their tips. and it should say----"ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY, FOR ANY REASON, TRY WHAT YOU MAY BUT THEY WILL NOT BE REMOVED"
if you can afford to cruise, you can afford the tips.

The D+ might be easier to deal with than those whiny Pinnacles.;)
apparently you do not know all the Pinnacles. bold statement !!

I know there are many opinions regarding this topic. I cruise another line more frequent and also some Disney cruises. On Freedom of the Seas do men wear nice khaki or dress shorts or jeans with a polo or button shirt? I believe in going to dinner looking proper.
what are dress shorts ?????? short are shorts and the evening dining room rules read "no shorts".

Anthem is repeating last itinerary.
2x is the same as twice
i know 2x meant twice, but what i was confused about is why someone would say bummer when you get to go to such a beautiful place twice.:confused:
-
Nice ports, but what a bummer to do them 2X.
what do you mean by 2x ???
-
does anyone know FOR SURE if the ships are disembarking at Labadee beach or are the protesters still keeping them away ???

approx mileage distance from MIA to Miami cruise port...

There are many nice benefits of diamond plus, only one of which is access to the diamond lounge on ships that have one. If the lounge is what you're searching for when you reach diamond plus, does it make much difference if they call the lounge a concierge lounge or diamond lounge? Eventually, the term concierge lounge will no longer be used on ships (As soon as all ships have a diamond lounge) and the options will be a suite lounge or diamond lounge depending on your accommodations or C&A level.
Enjoy
M
From the RCCL website, these are the benefits that you gain when becoming a Diamond Plus member.....
Behind the Scenes Tours
Personalized Gift/Amenity
Concierge Lounge Access
Priority seating at theater, ice show and AquaTheater events
For an extra 95 nights on a ship (and all the money that comes with that), I think the benefits are pretty useless. We thought at least we will have a "nicer" lounge. Obviously, they are getting rid of that. Don't get me wrong, we have loved the Diamond Lounge and have met the nicest people. But really - this is all I get for Diamond Plus?
As Elite on Celebrity, I always feel more special. I realize this is my personal opinion only.
those Pinnacle folks that have 700+ nights on the water should get far far above what the dia+ get. but they get just a few items more. if you want to acknowledge and give upgraded perks to your top cruisers, they are most certainly the ones that deserve it. HANDS DOWN. (Celebrity gives their top tier (zenith) a drink package each time they cruise.)

Just got off the Indy. Here is what I saw:
Casual nights - You will see everything including people in t-shirts and shorts who could care less how they look. There was no enforcement of a dress code that I saw. The majority of men are wearing khakis though with some nice jeans also mixed in. Most women are in a light summer dresses or some type of khakis/jeans/pants/skirt with a nice shirt.
Formal Nights -You will see a small number people in nice dress shorts and a tucked in shirt on the lowest end. Most men are in a suit or slacks with a sport coat. Others will look like they are going to church in a pair of slacks and a nice dress shirt with no sport coat. Women are most often in nice dresses or some type of slacks outfit.
What are dress shorts??:confused: (when is says outside the dining room----"NO SHORTS"--after 5 pm

You are correct, but the Port of New York Webcam was the site that showed Q at the dock in Bayonne.
OK---fair enough
-
It's still governed by the Port of New York.
you are correct, but it still sailed out of and was based in Bayonne NJ.
not port of NY. (I think)..
because the 3 time we sailed on it we left from NJ.
-
Today Quantum is leaving New York to start her 53 night journey to China. She'll be missed!
You can watch her sail away on the NY Harbor WebCam.
I thought Quantum sailed out of NJ (Bayonne). I for one will not miss her.

all i am saying, within the next 12--24 months the diamond lounge as we know it will vanish and the drinks will be on your seapass card to use as you will. we see it happening slowly ship by ship. the only lounge that will be left is the gold card lounge. and in "my opinion" i am all for this. end of topic.
