  1. DW just got off the phone with someone at resolutions and apparently the upgraded buffet is no longer offered. Also, this person said it was never offered at Nellie's beach which is a big pile of steaming crapola because we were there in March and had the upgraded buffet. $250 to sit in the shade? I don't think so.

if you rent a cabana on Barefoot Beach; is the upgraded lunch included??

  2. Sorry but you got the wrong person. That was UNV-IT.

I agree with what you said. I just think the cruise lines should try to accommodate the folks who would like the option of having drinks in their cabin at their convenience. However, they will never be able to accommodate the cheap ones as they will always try to smuggle just to save a buck.

i whole heartily apologize. i leaped before i looked. i had a senior moment. again i truly apologize. i do see you are the wrong person....

    my bad......

  3. I don't smuggle - It's not worth the hassle for me as we just don't drink that much. But I think a lot of folks smuggle for the convenience of having it in their cabin. Yes some do it to save money.

I think if RCI allowed you to buy a bottle for your cabin, even at an inflated price (ie an acceptable mark up) you would see a lot of the smuggling go away.

This, of course, is just my opinion. :p

ok, i respect you opinion. but post #2 (your post) you say you do it all the time and never been caught. now you post that you don't smuggle.

now i am really really confused.:confused::confused:

  4. I've used them on all my cruises. Never been caught.

IMHO--if you can afford all the cruises you have listed, you certainly can afford to buy drinks on the ship and save your self the embarrassment of getting caught smuggling booze. remember this is IMHO only.

i am fish tales and i approve of this message...

  5. Yes, we met the #2 and #3 couples on the final Monarch cruise. I'm thinking they were around 2500 and 3000 points.

#2 are Herbie & Marianne Lucus (i believe close to 3000)

#3 are the Steeles. and they are close to Herb & Marianne

  6. We've decided to take our kids on a cruise next year. :D It's a year away, but I'm very excited!

My husband and I have sailed several times, but this will be our first "family vacation" (that the kids can remember, at least).

I'm looking for tips to make it more special for them.:)

    Things like....

~Decorating the door (I never had any desire to do this when it was just me & hubby, but with kids I think it'll be fun)

~Having a Bon Voyage gift waiting for them in the cabin ("Fun ship Freddy?")

My kids will be 6, 7, and 9 years old at the time of the cruise.

Anything else you can think of to make the trip extra special? Thanks! :D

to make our cruise enjoyable, my wife and i leave our kids at home..:)

but our kids are 49, 46 & 37 :) all married and on their own...........

  7. I wonder how long that policy will last after 30-40 percent of the luggage being loaded on the ship has their 'home-printed' tags ripped off and lost? There are going to be a LOT of very unhappy passengers complaining loudly to anybody with a RC name tag on their shirt about their luggage never showing up.

i do agree. but if luggage tags are printed properly and applied properly (strong package tape) they will hold. we are all in the same boat (no pun).

if they come off it is our fault. not RCL.

  8. Almost, but not quite. You must be in a suite to get the suite room service menus, free pressing service on formal night, and complimentary luggage valet. Some ships have officer cocktail parties for suite guests only.

    pinnacle gets==free pressing

    luggage valet

    suite party invite

their gold card comes with all the perks......

  9. When you are D+/P and in a suite you get the best of both. You get all the perks for suite guests (Captain's cocktail party, etc.) and the CL. If you are D+/P you get the discounts and the choice of DL or CL. There are also tours that are sometimes offered to D+/P that are not offered to Suite guests.

if you are pinnacle, you do not have to book a suite to get all the PERKS.

Each and every time you cruise you get a gold sea pass card. even if you book an inside cabin on deck 2. gold card = all the perks. so cruise a lot and become pinnacle...:)

  10. Except for me: I've been cruising for 20 years now,

going on 30 cruises, and my passport stays in the safe.

Not just my opinion, my reality. :)

you may think 30 cruises is a lot (i disagree) . you say you have done many cruises, but IMO you still act as a newbe. your passport was issued to you for the purpose of flying and to prove you are a US citizen. this can't be done if it is locked in your safe and you have a problem in a foreign land. you paid for it so use it.

  11. I have traveled extensively in many third world countries, including a couple of 3 week + stints in Southeast Asia. I ALWAYS have my passport on me. I would never leave it in the ship. What if you have an accident and need to be airlifted out of a foreign country? A copy of your passport will do you no good, and you do not want to be waiting on the embassy to make you another.

You can buy an inexpensive thin, fabric "neck wallet" that will hold your passport under your clothes. Or a money belt, same idea. I always use this. I will be *wearing* my passport, my husband's, and my son's. Nobody is going to steal it from me...I think I'd notice a stranger's hands coming up under my bra!

In my opinion, leaving your passport in the ship's safe is foolish. NO other ID is accepted in a foreign country if you need to fly back to the US. Take your passport with you while in port. Wear it discreetly under your clothing. It will not be stolen.

we agree with you 100%. anybody that leaves their passport on the ship in the safe is a newbe, rookie cruiser. (remember this is my opinion) and i'm sticking to it.
