Most important is not where you are sailing, but who is sailing on you. Having cruised a lot on NCL I have never seen anyone more in the majority than North Americans. As primarily a US marketed line, I shouldn’t have to carry adapters for the cruise. When I reach my destination, I should expect to adapt.

How in the world did they do that. Total US brand using dollars everywhere. But in the lamps put EU 220v. At the desk across the room 110v. Shockingly thoughtless.

I went to the photo, it was a dessert pic. Are there 110v outlets on lamp? From your description I would conclude in the wall is a 220v plug that would require me to unplug lamp, plug 110v adapter and then plug into the adapter on the wall. Am I correct?

My understanding is that this class of ship has a lot more USB outlets. Do the nightstands each have an electrical outlet? I want to avoid bringing an extension cord to reach across the room if it is not needed.

Agreed. Odd from start. And near all the youngers. I noticed the Speedway bar overlooked the Vibe and was pleased they recognized the disturbance. This is a 19 day transatlantic during school time so the passengers should tilt older.

I’m on the Viva in two weeks and have my reservation.

I’ve booked Haven and Vibe on Getaway. Glad I did. Haven sundecks are large and bar service seems to run every hour or so. Too long in the heat for me. There was a one way door from Haven to Vibe. Vibe has a bar and is very social. Next cruise I’m doing a suite and Vibe. Saves a lot of money and gets away from the same menus daily. I think this will be a perfect fit for us.

What do you wear? I only want to bring shorts but want to dine in Le Bistro.

Social media brings out the worst in people. This discussion is silly. If your cabin is dirty, let them know so they can clean it. If your dirty experience ruins your trip, find a therapist. They can help.

I realize the alcohol beverage lists provided by NCL are pretty extensive. But my experience has shown it to be more limited on board. Recently, the shelves have been multiples of the same bottles - what I would call upper end well pours. Bacardi as far as the eye can see, and not just at the mojito bar. I’ve been enjoying Tanquera and flavored better vodkas. Haven’t seen the vodkas. Gins? What’s your experience. Not referring to FAS+.

I have Vibe on Viva for 19 days at $319.

I go to the Vibe to be around similar people that see value in what I see of value in. Child free, space, great bartenders, clean bathrooms, and good conversation. If you don’t like the concept, please don’t go and ruin the atmosphere for others. The concept seems to separate us well.

This thread is a psychotic spiral. I have cruised a lot. From recent experience I can say cruising with NCL and Celebrity has given me less enjoyment and value. My concerns are not ROI, capitalism, or their stocks. Because NCL owes me a lot of credits, I’m going with them next month. But despite even more leftover credits, I’m looking elsewhere to spend my vacation dollars. It’s seems easy to lose $500 in credits to not spend thousands in a futile attempt to rekindle my past experiences. The drama exhibited here just seems to be social media vitriol. Make your decisions and move on.

As the majority of mainstream lines race to the bottom, notice the rise of Virgin Voyages. They seem to know what they deliver and sticking to it looks to be a winner for them. I agree that this decline can’t go forever before a few reinvent themselves.

Hi RMS, We have done a few food tours, independent ones. I highly recommend them. You will enjoy a walking tour with history provided by the guide. You will also try some great food. Our favorite was in Madrid. You will also meet people, can be hit or miss. In San Juan Costa Rico we were with an obnoxious elitist - but that was only one out of many. We will be on the Wind Spirit next year. And we now live in Fort Myers FL. Kip

The bar at the back of the ship will be earliest to open. And maybe the Atrium bar.

But I understand that waiting for 3 x cruisenext is not ideal. I’ve found it confusing, and I’m experienced. So if it works for you, save!

They cannot be used outside of a new reservation. I usually have a few cruises booked a couple years out. I don’t think to apply credits when booking. Kip
