  1. I have rented a Beach Villa for our next cruise and since DH is handicapped, Carnival's Special Needs Dept. has arranged for us to have the one that is HC accessible.

What I would like to know is, how far is it from where you enter HMC from the tender and do you have to walk through beach/sand to get to it.

Any and all help will be appreciated.

    Thanks.

  2. I am not sure who posted the idea about using the Fitbit Zip bands but I really want to thank you.  We received our Medallions the other night and I had already purchased a Band from Amazon and as you can see from the picture below, it fit perfectly.  I now want to go back to Amazon and buy those pretty flower ones.  🙂

    Thanks again!

Would I pay separately for them, NO.

But what the heck. Since in a real way you ARE paying for them, go for it!

You may really like them. Or not.

Whatever the case, it’s always kinda fun to find a “surprise” waiting when returning to the cabin.

That was the way I was thinking.  What can it hurt and it will be just one more fun experience.  🙂

Yes, they are there and operational. It is a family pool area, but of course can be used by anyone. Very few people use this area, and even less when there are not a lot of youth on board. The bar is not operational, but bar waiters from other bars may pass by from time to time.

    Thank you for replying.

I would like to ask one more question and I hope it does not start a heated discussion.

My husband still smokes and I am trying to find an outdoor place where he can smoke.  He is 74 years old and would need to have a seated area.  Would you possibly know where that might be on the Caribbean Princess?  Thanks again.

The Chef's Table is $95 per person, or $80 without wine, on most ships.

On the Royal-class ships Chef's Table Lumiere is $115 per person, or $100 without wine.

For future reference the list of all (or most all) the dining venues on the various ships, complete with prices of any carrying an upcharge, can be found on this handy dandy document:

Thanks for posting this amazing file.  It will; really help us on our upcoming cruise.

We took a chance and downloaded the Ocean Now app and ordered our OM’s this weekend for the 12/2 Regal departure. They will be awaiting at the pier for us. The only other thing we completed for the OM’s is that we download the Ocean Ready app and scanned our passports, uploaded the security photos, etc. We are on Dolphin Deck and if we receive the OM’s, great. If our rooms aren’t OM ready, that’s fine as well.it was still an interesting process.

So now I am totally confused.  We will be sailing the CB next March.  I have gone to the Ocean website and inputted all my information etc., but it will not accept my booking number for our next cruise.  You state that there is an Ocean Now app that I should also download???  Really confused.  Can someone please tell me what I have to download and the procedure?

    TIA

I recently set up our OR account. It accepted the reservation number of our cruise leaving later this month. However, when I attempted to enter the reservation number for another cruise leaving in 2020, the system told me it could not find the reservation. My assumption is that since final payment has not yet been made for the 2020 cruise, the system will not accept and display that reservation. Just a guess.

When I search the App Store for "Ocean Compass", it takes me to "Ocean Ready". Seems they are one in the same.

Nevermind, I see you had already answered my question re: the OR app.  I will just have to keep trying to input my booking for next March.

This is not a matter of a flight change, it is a date change which NanaE did not make. It is a Princess problem if EZAir did the wrong date. It is a Delta problem if Delta changed the date.

If this was the flexible fares, there should be no problem changing the date to be the desired one unless the price has increased in which case the responsible party should absorb the difference in fare.

Airlines have also "changed dates" on mine and many others flights over the years so yes, this can be an airline problem which you also posted.

Needless to say, who did what is not NanaE's problem right now.  I do hope Princess helped get their reservation straightened out and my original posting was to state that everyone should always check their reservations periodically.

Get this!  I'm trying to "change" my flight reservations.  Have a cruise in March --- was to fly out on 4 March.  Checked my flight days -- it's  week later!!  Been working with Princess since last Wed. (11/14)….they blame Delta (not sure why) saying they  changed my dates when I didn't request.  Not a good impression for working with Princess for a cruise on them for the first time. (sigh)

Delta and many other airlines are notorious for changing flights especially if the flights are going through a consolidator (which all Princess flights are) so this is not a Princess problem.  Whether I book directly or indirectly with airlines, I always go directly to the airlines website and check my reservation numerous times prior to my day of flying.

  10. I recently complained of the same thing. I didn't get the MDR menus so what good is being able to order from those menu's. I didn't get water and had to call the first night for them. I didn't get toilet paper, what a joke my cabin steward was on the Golden last week, Sunny. Did you reduce your auto gratuity to a normal cabin because if you didn't you are paying for a service and amenity level you didn't receive

We will be doing our first suite next March. Are you saying that the gratuities are more in a suite? I have not read that before.

  11. Might be nice if they left a Drambuie by my side of the bed and a Grand Marnier by my wife's side. Of course we will never be able to sail in a suite anyway so it's a moot point for us. I'd still like to know what this marketing hype really means though. If it does mean anything at all.

lol, now I could get used to Drambuie or Grand Mariner every night. :)

Only way we got this suite is that when I was looking to book online, it automatically upgraded us for the same dollar amount as a mini suite. I jumped on it. :D

  12. I've always wondered this too because I've never noticed a difference in suites. I guess it's just more meaningless rhetoric. Sorry, OP, but it's nothing but the usual turn-down service which is awesome IMO. Love having the cabin steward straighten up in the evenings. When we take land vacations and they don't do that, we're like, "Hey! Where's our cabin steward?!" :)

I believe you might be right.;)

Perhaps like enhanced lotions, etc for elites and suites...maybe name brand chocolates. Mike

    That would be nice. :)

  13. Lots of love to you livestocruise. You do not have to justify yourself to those people who give you "looks and sneers". What you are doing as you help your husband fight his fight is far more important and a much more worthwhile use of your energy. God speed to you both.

Thank you for your love and kindness. It is truly appreciated.

My husband and I have been cruising for over 20 years. It has been and still is our happy place and where we can forget our new normalcy of doctors and infusions and more doctors, if only for 7 days. As a number of posters have said, people cruise for many reasons and each of them are valid.

I do want to say that most of the people we have interactions with on cruise ships have been wonderful, polite, caring and courteous, it is just those few that sadly stand out.

  14. My daughter has a mobility problem' date=' so she does use wheelchair embarkation assistance. She can walk short distances using braces and a walker, but for long distances or hills, the chair is a great help and often a necessity.

I have two points to make. First, I am well aware that there are people who "cheat," and there is no question that it is wrong. Secondly, you cannot tell by looking at a person what their status might be. She has been accosted and yelled at for parking in a handicap spot WITH an appropriate tag on her car. In fact, she suggested that the woman yelling at her should call the cops--she'd be happy to show the police the documentation proving that it was HER tag, not grandma's that she was illegally using..but that she wasn't going to discuss her medical situation with an irrational woman.

I've never seen a line of wheelchairs boarding on Princess. In fact, the usual is that there are far fewer "pushers" than there are people needing assistance. People requesting wheelchair assistance are kept in a "holding area." After a while, anywhere from 3 to about 6 crew will show up with wheelchairs, and each will take one guest. There is sometimes an elevator involved, and those elevators will only hold one or two chairs at a time. Most of the "groups" are 2 people--one in the chair and one with them. But in fairness, there was a family of about 12 on our last cruise with one elderly grandma using assistance. The person directing the chairs told the family to take the escalator and meet the chair at the top. We have currently done 9 on Princess, and only once did the wheelchair pusher cut into a line--most of the time, the suite and elite boarding was done before they got around to assist OR (in Japan) the assist area was boarded first, before boarding opened to elites and suites. That could be argued as a wrong thing, but it was Japan where standards are somewhat different and elderly are seriously respected. When we "cut" a line, it was just that--2 of us being taken by a crew member. Yes, I'd probably be miffed if I was in a line that was "cut" by a parade of 20 wheelchairs, but that's never been our experience. And typically we've waited while others have boarded as we need to wait for the pushers, even though we were in a suite and may have been eligible for "priority" boarding. FWIW, there is no priority in the wheelchair area--you are taken in the order in which you checked in.

As the parent of a legitimate HA assist user, we would gladly trade standing in line for an hour rather than my daughter having all the issues that go along with her condition....wish that were possible.

But, I do totally agree that someone who does not need the assistance should not be using it, and your example of someone jumping out of a chair and running to the Sanctuary is highly suspicious. Sorry that these jerks were allowed to delay your boarding.

Club Class dining for lunch is open from 12-1:30 with no wait for seating and no one will try to tell you to go to the buffet (as they do to people who don't have CC who opt for the dining room lunch!) And it is a lovely way to start the cruise, whether or not rooms are available upon boarding.

The line for priority boarding may be non-existent or may be quite significant depending on the number of elites booked on the cruise. Bottom line, you'll be allowed to board before people with blue cards.[/quote']

I fully agree with what you posted. As a wife of a 73 year old cancer patient who can stand and walk a bit but cannot walk distances or go up stairs or hills well, I appreciate the assistance given and most the time I am walk/running behind the pushers because they just grab and go with the wheelchair. :-)

We have gotten looks and sneers because my husband looks normal except he is now all of 115 Lbs. I really do not care. I will do what ever it takes to make sure he has an enjoyable cruise and if someone has a problem or wonders about it then just come up and politely ask. I will graciously tell you why he is in a wheelchair.

  15. No noise from theatre. We were in F315' date=' and initially it was very hot. We spoke to our steward--no improvement. It took 2-3 days to get an engineer who knew what he was doing (they sent some idiot who dusted the vent covers once!), but when the person who knew what he was doing got involved, it got fixed.[/quote']

Moki'smommy, we will be in F315 next March. Can you tell me if the HC bathroom has two sinks? How is storage in the bathroom?

    Thanks.

  16. You will want to change it to Anytime Dining in your personalizer. CC dining is typically in the anytime dining room and will have a special line for you to enter.

They will have a list at the door of those who are in a full suite or in a club class room.

    Thank you so very much.
