  1. Hi, princess newbie here. We have booked a window suite on the Caribbean Princess. I have read the suite perks and see we can dine in club class but after reading this thread from beginning to end I am a little confused.

Our personalizer states two types of dining. Anytime and traditional. No club class listed. We are marked for 5:30 traditional.

Here is where my confusion comes in. Should I change that to Anytime? Should I call Princess to make sure we have club class? Eating at 5:30 is way too early for us.

    Thanks in advance.

  2. for anyone taking an Alaska cruise and is planning on taking the white pass railroad they are currently have rock slides so all the train rides are being canceled and instead are taking people on a tour bus so bummed! :loudcry: I want my money back :loudcry:

That is too bad. I did this last year in Alaska and it was definitely one of the major highlights of our entire trip.

  3. Well, I do believe the confusion is in terminology. I have sailed on ships that have "full" over hang/coverage from the cabins above. I can tell you that C301 did not have "full" coverage and in fact, on the few sunny days we had was difficult to stay out there in the hot sun. On this I guess we must agree to disagree.

  4. We were in C301 HC cabin, mid forward and there was no overhang over our balcony.

I’ve sailed the Royal & Regal several times and the balconies on the side of the ship are stacked & not terraced like on other Princess ships.

Maybe our definition of a covered balcony is different however the photos in the link I previously posted show that nearly all balconies are covered by the balcony above it...what cabin did you have?

Here are photos of the aft balcony cabins which show where most uncovered balconies are located.

  5. On the larger ships (where Lido is Deck 16 instead of 14) is Caribe (Deck 10) STILL the one with the half covered/half uncovered balconies? - or has that moved 'up' the ship as well?

I'm looking particularly at Regal Princess, but would like an answer pertaining to ALL the newer/larger ships if possible. (are they calling these the "Ocean Medallion class" ships???)

Was on the Regal on Deck 10 in Feb. of this year and no, no cover for the balconies at all and very narrow balconies. I was disappointed.

  6. Hopefully someone will correct me if I am wrong, but to my knowledge there is no level access to the balcony; the sliding doors still have the raised lip on the bottom that must be stepped over even in wheelchair accessible cabins.

We were in B301 on the Royal, the balcony was 50% longer as is the cabin but definitely no deeper. This cabin was an upgrade at the pier so I cannot comment if it would accommodate a wheelchair, my guess is you could definitely get out onto the balcony but probably not have much maneuverability once out on it. Location excellent right by elevators.

Thank you both for your input.

  7. Correct-- that is how they did it on my cruise this past January, and I haven't heard anything since, that leads me to believe they have updated their system. Personally, I wish they would. Our last cruise on NCL, they had a few prints catalogued in binders organized by stateroom-- very easy to quickly find and review. And the rest of the images were accessible for viewing and ordering on computers-- also easily reviewed. No walking up and down the racks trying to find your images. I'm actually quite surprised Princess is still so old school in this department

Thank you. I too am surprised but I believe they will offer that service down the road.

    Thanks again.

  8. You don't have to get them everyday, but depending on how many you pose for, it could be a very large job to get them onto the flash drive. Each time you select images you want to keep, you take them off the racks and turn them in at the photo desk-- they are kept overnight to be scanned/transferred into the drive. The photo desk is very busy at the end of the cruise, so if you wait to select any pictures until the end, they may not be able to get you all of the digital versions. It would depend on what their workload is at that point.

I know we got quite a few images with the package in January, and went every day to make our selections. Often the Order wasn't ready for pickup until late in the afternoon the following day.

Also, someone from the cabin that booked the package has to be in the image for it to be included, and in spite of it being the "all inclusive" package, it doesn't include any special/private event images, if you have anything like that scheduled.

So I am assuming that Princess does as many other cruise lines do and they have racks that they put the pictures from the evening before and that day onto them for people to go through, correct? So we would need to scan each rack to find our pictures, yes?

I do know that another line is using facial recognition to digitally load your pictures and then you can just go through them and pick the ones you want printed but I am assuming Princess is not doing that yet.

  9. I bought the All-Inclusive Photo Package a number of months ago for our sailing in January but I have a few questions.

    1. Do I need to go to the photo area of the ship every day to pick out the pictures I want to keep?

    2. Will they store them for me until the end of my cruise or do I need to take them back to my cabin daily?

    3. Can I receive them on a CD or thumb drive?

    Thanks for any help.

  10. so, princess offered to move you to a fully accessible HC room with the ***** experience - isn't that what you are asking for?

No, they have not offered to move me to any room as of this posting and I wanted to make sure that if and that isa big IF they did move me it would be to a fully accessible HC room. And no, I did not ask to move.

  11. a first answer rep, or transferred to customer/relations/loyalty rep?

1st tier Rep who would not transfer me to loyalty Rep (Strike 1), who, after a 10 min hold came back and told me she had put me in to move our cabin to an ***** which I never asked for because we are in a fully accessible HC cabin and cannot take the risk of them moving us to a non HC cabin. She came back at me saying "What makes you think we would move you to a regular cabin?" in a snarly tone (Strike 2) and when I told her I did not want to be moved and why, she said that that was the way they were doing it which I know to be false (Strike 3).

Please do not get me wrong, I have dealt with many, many Princess Reps that have been nothing more than gracious and helpful and I have loved speaking with them but this was a first.

  12. So after reading about so many getting OBC, I decided to call. I now know what some meant about the attitude (begrudging) that was given by the Princess Reps. I got someone that although did give me a $50.00 pp OBC it was done with quite the attitude as in "Not another caller wanting something for nothing" tone of voice. I was truly appalled being as I am in the Travel Business and represent Princess at times and I would not want one of my clients to get that type of attitude from anyone let alone a company that my clients were paying a fair price for services and items received to.
