  1. I’m not sure if this is the one you were looking for
  2. Yes you can. They charge $5 for third entree
  3. Are you allowed to book multiple cruises with the Elite offer? Also what kind of perk options do you choose from? TIA
  4. We are currently sailing on Carnival Celebration’s Inaugural Transatlantic cruise and I thought since we have sooooo many sea days in a row, I figured I write a mid cruise review and answer any questions people have. Ship We are sailing at about 75% capacity. The ship design and multiple food options around the ship helps spread out the crowds. For this cruise, there is plenty of seating on the pool deck, at the buffet, and theater. At this capacity and demographic, the ship is a perfect size. We cruised the Mardi Gras in May near 100% capacity with many families onboard and that was a much different experience. Entertainment So far the entertainment has been awesome! From the headliner singers and performances at Center Stage to the Comedians at the Limelight Lounge/ Punchliner club, Family Feud, the performances in the theater… there is something always going on! I applaud Carnival for providing so much entertainment for this transatlantic cruise and bringing in so many acts! Food The quick service food has been fantastic! This includes venues such as The Deli, Guys Burger’s, Street Eats, Blue Iguana, and Miami Slice Pizza. Even the Java Blue food area has delicious Breakfast sandwiches, finger foods like empanadas and pastries served. We enjoy the variety and different food options around the ship. There are some changes in menu for the deli and pizza since this area has a Miami Theme, Cuban influence. The food in the main dining room has been typical Carnival fare, some hits…some misses. Overall it’s fine. You can also dine in Chibang and Cucina de Capitano for free. The food at these venues were better on the Mardi Gras. This is the first sailing, so I think this will get better with time and as the chefs get more experience. I’m saddened that they took the Farfalle Al Pistachio off the menu at Cucina de Capitano! That was my favorite dish on the menu. The Chia Pudding on the Sea Day Brunch menu has been taken off. I was really looking forward to it. I guess will need to find those recipes! We haven’t tried any specialty restaurants but heard Rudis was excellent. Activities There are plenty of activities to keep you occupied. I was kind of worried I’d get bored on the sea days, but the activity schedule is jam packed and will keep you busy. Cruise director Lee is very visible and his team is great! Service The service has been good. The crew are always courteous and friendly. There were times last week when there were a few hiccups and service was very slow, but again it’s the first sailing and there will always be some kinks to deal with. Our stateroom attendant Leslie has been awesome! Maybe he doesn’t think the same about us…towel animal below 😂 Cons I love the concept of Center Stage in the atrium, but I think the seating and sight lines are terrible in this venue. You constantly have people passing by on deck 7 to go from one end of the ship to the other during the show. I thought they would fix this issue from Mardi Gras but it is the same. Hopefully they change it for the Jubilee. Also the background noise you get from the venues behind the seating is quite distracting. I felt bad for one of the performers who had to deal with these drunk people screaming during her performance. They weren’t watching the show, but waiting for their table at Bonsai on Deck 8. Elevators are on the small side and sllloooww. Thoughts Overall, we are having a fantastic and relaxing cruise. As long as I can survive the next 5 sea days in the casino 😳😂
  5. I wonder if the Quantum Class was Royals attempt at a more stylish ship that wasn’t geared to kids and more towards the adult. You can see a bit of Celebrity influence on the Quantum class and besides the Seaplex and Adventure Ocean, there aren’t many kids areas. The Radiance class to me was close to a updated Sovereign class with lots of ocean views and small enough to fit in to smaller ports.
  6. Seems like Royal is targeting the family demographic here with the Icon class. Since there are so many Oasis class ships in the fleet now and since the Wonder didn’t go to Asia, I think they should “adultify” a Oasis class ship and have a more luxury / adult only ship. The Allure would be perfect since it hasn’t been amplified yet and doesn’t have the hideous Ultimate Abyss slide in the back yet. This could really compete and grab some of the Virgin Voyages crowd.
  7. Haha Coco cays pool area by the swim up bar would be very yellow if the pool wasn’t so big. 😂
  8. I know I am not a ship building architect, but on all RCL ships the ice skating rink is in the lower middle ship region. I’ve always assumed it was because that was the most stable part of the ship. I’m also surprised that the aqua dome is on a higher deck in the front of the ship and wasn’t placed midship. I feel the front of the ship on a higher deck is the roughest area to be in during rocky seas. Do you think this will affect performances and cause more cancellations of the shows for both venues? On a side note, the adults area solarium will be missed. The solarium on the Wonder was perfect and thought the idea would transfer to the Icon. The aqua dome seems like it will be more like the 270 venue on the Quantum class.
  9. From this “leaked preview”, Not sure why but I feel like if the Icon came out first, I would be more impressed with the Oasis as being the evolution of the Icon. Again not all the details have come out about the Icon so we shall see if there may be more surprises.
  10. Did anyone else get this offer from casino royale? A comp event on Oasis / Odyssey called Coco Cay Soirée? Says it is on Feb 5th. Just wondering if anyone knows any details about this event.
  11. Wouldn't it be cool if they made that area in to an Adults only neighborhood with the nice infinity pool in the aft?
  12. I wonder if this area will be like Center Stage on Carnival Mardi Gras
  13. Hey Radio, would you be so kind to see if the unlimited Dining package can be used for the Vintages tapas menu? Thank so much. Really enjoying your review! We will be on the Oasis next voyage!
  14. Curious to know what is the stadium seating structure circled in green under the “boardwalk”deck. A 270 type lounge?
  15. I see that Vintages serves a tapas menu. Does the Unlimited Dining Package include this?
  16. The thermal suites on Royal are not worth it for us. We prefer the ones on MSC Meragvilia and Carnival Splendour
  17. Does anyone have a recent menu for Giovanni’s ? What is your favorite dish from there?
  18. The Excursion that we want to go on is sold out in the daily planner. Do you think there is a chance that we will be able to book once onboard? Do they save some spaces open for onboard purchases?
  19. It’s not the fact of being a naval architect and changing the structural area of the ship, it’s utilizing the space in a more effective way.
  20. I also am dreading my transatlantic cruise with 7 straight sea days in November but my significant other insists on doing this type of cruise 🥴 I just hope the sea is calm or the cruise is canceled 😂
  21. After sailing on all of the Oasis class ships, I’m curious to know why Royal has not expanded some areas to hold more seating capacity or changed the location of a venue. Most of the oasis class ships are split images of each other and the decor is very much the same. I know they wanted smaller venues so it seems more intimate, but when you have so many people onboard it becomes frustrating to find a seat. An example is the Spot light Karaoke / on air venue. To me this area is always packed and is a weird shape. On other Royal ships, karaoke is usually held in a large lounge like in the safari club on Radiance class ships or star lounge on Freedom / Voyager class. They should really get rid of the spotlight lounge and just have it in the Music Hall. The most wasted space is the Spa area. The entrance area is huge and there’s really not much there except the vitality cafe and the make up/ hair salon which is not really utilized or ever busy. A nice big lounge or the schooner bar (another venue too small) should be in that area. Entertainment place is the worse set up. All of the venues are way too small for this size of ship. Blaze has a terrible lay out and too small for a dance club, The Jazz club never has a crowd and should be done away with and sent to the Music Hall. The diamond lounge (formerly the comedy club) in entertainment place doesn’t make sense. The adult comedy should really just be done in the theater like they do on the last night since the shows are all the same in Blaze. To have a reservation for this seems to be unnecessary stress. One thing Royal did right was the new layout of the Windjammer on the Wonder. It is huge and nicely spaced out. I didn’t notice how much of a difference it made until I cruised on the Oasis and had to wait in line to just get in to the buffet. They sometimes use the music hall for game shows but that venue is oddly shaped and has bad sight lines. im curious to see if the Icon will have larger venues that can accommodate the amount of guests onboard.
  22. From the recent pictures, It sure does seem like the Icon is resembling the Oasis class style, structurally. I really hope there is more of a difference and not just a updated Wonder. A wrap around waterfront area like on NCL and Carnival ships would be a nice addition instead of a running track and hanging lifeboats that block views. Imagine if there was a mistake and they were actually building Utopia first? Lol (I’m being sarcastic of course) 😏
  23. Just got back from a cruise on the Oasis and received the survey by email. Now there is a part where it says (in some way)did any crew member influence your score or something like that. Our waiter did say “if you enjoyed our service please remember to give us a 10. It really helps us”. We were going to give them a 10 anyway because they deserved it, but has anyone answered yes to the question when asked if a crew member told you to give them a high score? I didn’t want to get anyone in trouble so I answered no.
