  1. This cabin is cat. DW obstructed deluxe cabin. The balcony is huge, but it does get windy at sea. If you move further back towards the sliding door you will get some protection from the elements. You will also feel more motion that high up and that far forward. If you upgrade to a non obstructed deluxe cabin the room itself will be exactly the same but with a much smaller balcony on either the port or starboard side. Just depends on what’s important to you. We really like the far forward deluxe balconies or mini suites on Lido deck. Personally, I would not upgrade, but that’s just me.
  2. Yes, either a CVP or your travel agent can access these cabins and book two passengers. Princess does release the cabins from guarantee closer to sail date, but before final payment. Princess does this to encourage 3+ passenger reservations.
  3. lol We don’t live in Toronto since we retired a few years ago. However, our sons and their families do and yes, they live in an upscale neighborhood. Yes, they tip exorbitantly, especially on vacation. We did a family reunion cruise on HAL Eurodam a few years ago and the crew was very, very pleased.
  4. I agree 92% with you. Not all in on the other 8%, sorry.
  5. I have to admit that in Canada we tip everyone everywhere we go and even more than necessary. I tip our dog groomers more than some people tip their cabin stewards. Not unusual for clients in higher end salons in Toronto to tip their stylist $100.00+
  6. I sincerely wish you the best of outcomes in your case. I just don’t know how you prove negligence on the part of Princess when the menu clearly states that olives will be somewhere on your plate. You say the olive pit was inside the crab cake. It could very well be true. Can you prove that? If not, then Princess will say you were aware of the presence of olives and you neglected to be more observant. I really hope that you’ll be able to receive compensation through insurance coverage.
  7. Correct. A implant procedure performed six years ago with no ensuing complications or problems indicates a successful implant, completely exonerating the dental practitioners involved in this incident. Negligence on the part of Princess? This will very hard to prove, but I wish the best outcome for the OP.
  8. Wishing you a speedy recovery from your surgery. Your reply made me smile…..anaesthesia can do that!
  9. Are you a dental professional? What knowledge do you have about dentistry aside from the fact you have implants? I’m betting the answer is “NO”. I am and I can assure you that in Canada this would never reach the standard of negligence on the part of the dental practitioners involved. It was an unfortunate accident. I believe in the US everyone wants to sue everyone.
  10. I can tell you from the perspective of a a dental professional, the dental practitioner in question is not responsible for a number of reasons. No need to get into a lengthy and quite boring discussion, but I can assure you from what information the OP has provided it would be next to impossible for this to be related to implant failure. I am almost certain that it will be deemed an unfortunate accident that was not intentional nor neglectful. Especially if it’s proven that the menu the OP received indicated that olives were part of the accompaniment of the dish. Princess will apologize and offer a token of goodwill. This is only my humble opinion.
  11. I wish you luck! I would love to be proven wrong in your case.
  12. You are correct. Implants are far superior to a fixed bridge. However, the cost is much higher for implants and not an option for many people. Some insurance companies have plans that do cover a portion of the implant. Most always the procedures performed by an oral surgeon to prep the gum tissue are covered.
  13. I’m an endodontist and this is an interesting thread. The OP is correct in that the second implant is a much more complicated process. The cost seems quite high, but since I’m not familiar with the case or the practitioners involved, I won’t comment any further. As far as filing suit for damages, I’m highly sceptical that the OP would be successful in receiving monetary compensation. I would think more probably OBC or FCC. However, I’m not a lawyer so I’m not qualified to offer advice or even my opinion. I’ve had many patients travel prior to the completion of their root canal therapy. A few of them caused damage to the tooth and some to the point of requiring extraction. Virtually all of these events are related to the patient biting on something that was unexpected. I don’t recall anyone ever mentioning that they would seek damages, as I would have been required to present a detailed report. This, of course, would be dependent on whether the incident was accidental, intentional or preventable. The lawyers will decide, but I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for cash payment in the area of $7000.00 Just my humble opinion and I could be proven completely wrong. Good luck to the OP.
  14. Why do so many people care so much about what other people do or don’t do or how they choose to spend their money? I live my life according to what I want, what I need and what I can afford. I don’t feel the need to discuss my choices or justify my choices. To be honest, I don’t care what you choose to do either. Your life, your money, your business. If you choose to purchase a package, great, good for you! If you choose not to purchase a package, great, good for you!
  15. As long as they don’t run out of Aperol and Prosecco, I’ll be happy. We had a very hard time locating Aperol here at home during the summer and I was so disappointed.
  16. $5.00 RS delivery charge is applicable only if you don’t purchase the Ocean Now delivery for $14.99. Your assumption is correct.
  17. I believe we established that curling irons/flat irons are completely allowed and clothes irons are prohibited. So ladies are perfectly welcome to take their styling appliances. If you want to iron clothes use the ones in the onboard laundry rooms.
  18. Sorry! I assumed, yes THAT word, you knew it was a beverage package and not an alcohol package. I must try to be more exact in my wording, my bad. Thanks for being patient.
  19. Go to the website and look exactly where I instructed in my post. It is there in black and white, I promise! lol
  20. Again, see my post #115 and you will see for yourself in black and white right on the website!
  21. Just go to their website. My directions are in post #115. Can’t believe you didn’t know this! This is why so many people are completely confused about the packages.
  22. In defence of this member, please keep in mind that she has no interest whatsoever in purchasing any packages and is very vocal in her options. She would have no reason to search for this information nor would she ask for it. So, for her knowing all the packages and what they offer is just not in her wheelhouse.
  23. Just go to the website and On Our Ships….Onboard Experience……Beverage Packages. These are shown as either Plus or Premier beverage packages and if you read each of them it covers beverages only. None of the other stuff that’s included with the Plus or Premier cruise fare. The price for these packages are pretty much the same as what you could have paid for the entire package! Why anyone would buy it is beyond anyone’s comprehension. Princess has confused so many people! You would think they would have at least identified them to make the difference obvious. So very confusing. Sorry, @Steelers36, but you have posted recently a complete breakdown of the packages and did it so much better than I. Would you mind pointing it out to this member. Thank you!
