  1. Princess CFAR 100% FCC. Received port charges and fees back to our credit card within 24 hours.

I know that quite a few of us have been recently disillusioned by Princess and their inept customer service and the terrible way they handled new charges for amenities that were once complimentary. I get it and your disappointment is warranted. However, I just wanted to let you know that there is still some very positive actions taken by Princess. Due to a family crisis, we had to cancel our Regal Princess sailing for September 2nd. On August 24 we cancelled and yesterday, August 28, we received 100% FCC. Four days! We were prepared to wait weeks for any action and even our CVP told us that Princess was lagging behind applying FCC and not to expect anything for 3-4 weeks. Thank you, Princess! My faith has been renewed. Maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel after all.
  3. We recently cancelled our Regal Princess cruise for this coming weekend, due to an unforeseen crisis at home. Just booked Enchanted for 2024 (will be using our FCC to cover the cost) and Majestic TA for July 2025 stopping in Iceland. Probably one of the very best TA itineraries we’ve ever seen on any cruiseline. We also have Celebrity Ascent booked for 2024 at a much higher fare than both of our Princess sailings. I know many of you are angry about the recent changes and rightly so. However, even with the cost of Plus or Premier packages added on, Celebrity cannot come close to Princess in price. We love Celebrity, but most of our future cruises will be with Princess with the Plus package.

To answer your question, I have never had any problems with noise on any Celebrity ship in any cabin. You’ve been a member for 14 years and this is your very first post?

  6. Definitely not rude. I always wonder why people think that CC members somehow know what sale the cruiseline will be offering in the future. Unless, one of us has a crystal ball, we all see it together when it’s published. @Steelers36 is a long standing member with a wealth of knowledge and one of our most respectful members.
  7. Very wise advice. Why wait for a sale that may not be what you expected and the cabin you wanted is gone.
  8. Thanks! Two weeks would be great. We’ll be booking something this week. We’ll pay the deposit and use FCC for the balance.
  9. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Very happy your pup did well. We foster Arctic breed dogs, and we’ve seen a lot over the years. Usually, it’s malnutrition, broken bones and severe neglect, so we’re used to dealing with dogs requiring love and care and patience. When it’s your own, you tend to lose your objectivity and your heart takes over your good sense. Once we get our FCCs, we will definitely be cruise shopping! I hope Princess does this in a relatively timely manner. We shall see.
  10. Sounds great! We have to fly everywhere, so we only do ten day minimum. Thinking of trying the Sun, though. Maybe a TA, so we would get lots of time to explore the ship. Decisions, decisions!

  12. Thanks everyone for your good wishes. Our CVP is taking care of us and sending appropriate forms to complete. She said it will be two months, or more, before our FCCs show up on our account. Gives us lots of time to find a new cruise!
  13. Our CVP will help us book something for summer 2024. We’ll probably rebook a British Isles itinerary for July or August. We’re assuming that we’ll put a deposit on our credit card and the use the FCC for the balance at final payment, At the moment we’re just happy to get him home and back to normal. Just like having children!
  14. We were supposed to be boarding Regal Princess in two weeks to the day, but it just wasn’t meant to be. Our youngest dog had to have emergency bladder surgery yesterday to save his life. Everything happened so fast, but our vet just led us through it all. He will recover, but it’s going to take a few weeks to get back on his feet. We’re so grateful that it turned out in his favour. So, today I’ll be cancelling our cruise, (Platinum insurance coverage thank goodness,) our flights, our hotel, our excursions, our car service, etc. We have 100% FCC cancel for any reason coverage so we’ll start planning for something else once our boy is well, we’ll probably will wait until next spring. We’ve never cancelled after final payment nor used our Platinum insurance. Our CVP will take care of the process for us, I’m sure, Does anyone know how long it takes for the FCC to show up in our account? We have learned never to take things for granted and be prepared for anything that can happen when you least expect it. We’re very happy our boy will be home tomorrow and believe me, he’s worth more than any cruise.

  17. We have PLUS 60. We upgraded our cabin in February and upgraded the PLUS, too. Fares had been reduced, so it actually cost us less than the original booking. By July the fares skyrocketed. We were very lucky.
  18. Exactly the same for our September cruise. It’s been sold out for a couple of weeks.
  19. Wow, that is really unfortunate. I’ve had mine for years and she is a gem. I literally do nothing once my booking is in her hands. Last week she called me to ask about my dogs and tell me about her new roof. No mention of Princess at all. Just a kind person checking in.
  20. Yes, we received one small bottle of each. Clearly, it depends on which ship and what they have available.
  21. I believe that these bottles are used only for complimentary stateroom perks and not available anywhere else on the ship. Years ago on Royal Princess we were upgraded to Club Class and we received the small bottles.

  23. I forget the brand, probably because it is such a forgettable wine. Trust me, it’s not the good stuff and just barely okay stuff. If you have a drink package, you will do much better with that.
