  1. Thank you for correcting me, I had no idea things were changed. You learn something new everyday on CC. My apologies for posting before I did some research!
  2. The layout of Royal class ships mini suites is a bit different. On Ruby, the desk is placed by the side of the bed night table, so no room for a curtain. On Royal class, the desk is on the opposite wall from the sofa, freeing up the space by the bed for a curtain. Royal class ships have many differences, such as size. Some people prefer the older smaller ships, some not so much. I love Royal class.
  3. No curtains on Island or Ruby, sorry.
  4. We just put in a bid to upgrade to the far forward mini suites in Reserve Class. We’re currently in a forward standard mini suite. Online booking shows all mini suites and suites sold out on our sailing in September, so doubtful if we’ll be successful. We love being forward and prefer Lido deck. Motion is never an issue for us, but can be problematic for some. It’s also quite windy when at sea, but the large balcony is certainly a bonus. The location you have is, for some people, ideal. It just depends on your personal likes and tolerance to motion.
  5. Never have an issue. As a matter of fact, there is no possible way for me to see USD. Even if I don’t sign in, I’m in the Canadian website.
  6. Princess is very comparable to RCCL, Celebrity, HAL and is nothing like MSC. Our good friends decided to give MSC a try and absolutely hated it for numerous reasons. You will find Princess more to your liking. Sky Princess is a beautiful ship and has all the amenities you would need and even though it’s a large ship it doesn’t feel overcrowded. Good choice!
  7. I believe the OP took the National Express Bus, not the Princess transfer bus. We’ve done both Blackberry Car Service and the NE bus. Car service is great, but about ten times more expensive, so not an option for everyone.
  8. The higher the letter, the least desirable location (according to Princess). First letter is the category…..M = mini suite. MF is far forward, but it’s our favourite location, even though Princess rates it least favourite of the minis. Works for all categories, B = balcony. BA is best and so on.
  9. Don’t pay any attention to the nay sayers. You go in your White and Gold outfit and you’ll have a blast! Attitude is everything and you have it in spades. Have fun and please post some photos!
  10. Wow, good for you! Now, you must become one of our “frequent flyers” on the boards. I’m sure you have lots of interesting cruising anecdotes to share with us. Bon voyage!
  11. I am! I’ll just purchase it onboard with my OBC! We usually have LOTS of it. I know you are not a fan, but isn’t it lovely we all have choices. Have a delightful day!
  12. Exactly! Hopefully, this option will still be available to us long term.
  13. Following here, too! Our turn in September, so looking forward to your report. Thank you for taking us along on your UK adventure!
  14. That would be me! There is virtually nothing to buy on the ship, however we occasionally dine in Crown Grill or Sabatini’s to use some of our OBC. The rest of our OBC satisfies our gambling habit without using too much of our own money. If they stop allowing OBC in the casino we’ll just forgo purchasing the Plus or Premier package.
  15. Have you sent Princess a copy of your credit card purchase for this excursion?
  16. You are in the wrong section to post this. Go to Cruise Critic main page and scroll down to Roll Calls. Click on Princess. Scroll down to choose your ship. Then scroll down to your particular sail date. You will then see the roll call that’s been set up for you. Viola you’re there! Now you can reply to your fellow ship mates and start new topics. Have fun!
  17. I’ve always used our OBC in the casino, however, I always go through it all and have to add my own money to play. Not having tried to cash out might be the reason I was allowed to do so. Clearly, I’m not a big winner in the casino! We have substantial OBC for our upcoming cruise and I hope to give it back to Princess, as usual.
  18. All you need to do is check your credit card purchases to see when you paid for this excursion. Yes, I would then call Princess and tell them you have proof you paid for the excursion and the others can be applied to OBC. It really should not be a problem for them to fix right away. Good luck
  19. Just go to the Boards main page and click on “Princess”. It will now show the boards specific to Princess. Lower right blue box “Start New Topic” is where you click on. Type in your title of your question first and then type in what you want to say. Then hit submit and you are done! Easy peasy! Wait for your responses to post.
  20. Exactly the same scenario for me. Thank you for pointing it out to the OP.
  21. We also have this applied to our account and it is OBC.
  22. I would kindly ask the moderators to close this thread. Thank you.
  23. You are 100% right on! Thank you for getting it. I do blame them first and foremost. The issue is money. Always.
  24. That’s true, but do we have to choose between the two? I would like to think we have room in our hearts for both. Perhaps, not all of us do.
