  1. We too have chosen Blackberry. They will pick up at our hotel in Kensington and to Southampton for 200GBP
  2. My happy place is Hanalei, but that one special night at the Royal Hawaiian was never to be forgotten., Next up: Maui
  3. Such a pleasure to have found this post. I find your optimism delightful! Is there a more beautiful place on earth than the Hawaii? just a comment; I was never hotter and sweatier and uncomfortable than in Cartagena.
  4. We will be on Regal Princess, date at Edinburgh 9/2, in port 7A to 7P. Not interested in a Princess tour. What I would really like is a quick and not complicated arrival into town, and some type of conveyance that would leave us at the TOP of the hill. Not disabled, but get short of breath with that type of walk. I want to have a prearranged time to tour the castle, and then walk as much of the Royal Mile as time allows. Any suggestions about transport, and reaching TOP of the hill?
  5. Thanks gunnywife, we did a full day tour of the Landing Beaches and the Colleville sur Mer cemetery as a day trip from Paris. I recommend it highly. Me Heart Cruising, which would you rate higher: Greenock or Invergordon? Will take your suggestion about Cobh.
  6. Our Regal cruise is next August. My husband is generally pretty energetic, but we usually build in rest periods when traveling. I think he might need a day or two "off" on the cruise. Ports are Guernsey, Cork (Cobh), Dublin (Dun Laoghair), Belfast, Glasgow (Greenock), orkeny Islands, Invergordon, Edinburgh and Le Harve. Must sees are Guernsey, Dublin, Edinburgh and Orkney Islands. I would like to see some highland scenery and a castle or two. Le Harve will be low key. Welcome suggestions from those familiar with these ports.
  7. We arrive back in port on Tuesday Sept 5 after sailing on Regal. I am looking at a return home flight from LHR departing at 14:15. Planning to use Princess transport. Is this enough time?
  8. We did this food tour and had a wonderful time and some very good food. https://www.halifaxfoodtours.com/eat-halifax
  9. "So I'm more than a little turned off when I hear that the same navy is buzzing by other nations' civilian vessels (who are not russia or china), probably not in U.S. waters a lot of the time." I know Canadian ports are not Yemen, but remember the USS Cole docked when approached by a small motorboat. 17 young US Sailors were killed in this suicide attack.
  10. If you are in the St. Stephens Green area, have a beer/whisky at the Cocktail Bar 23 at the Merion Hotel. You will not be disappointed.
  11. Interesting, our Club Class M1 is still the same price...
  12. The August 2023 tours have been shifted from the Emerald Princess to the larger Regal Princess
  13. We toured the Cotswolds with London Walks, also visited Oxford. Highly recommend https://www.walks.com/our-walks/oxford-the-cotswolds-the-great-escape/
  14. Lady Arwen, we were notified by our travel agent. Agree with others re: higher request for bookings = larger capacity ship.
  15. Next time try the Westminster Abbey Verger Tour. Excellent access to the church; reserve in advance
  16. British Isles in 8/23 now to be on the Regal. We have sailed on Coral and Regal, and I preferred the Coral. Any thoughts? We were booked in an M1 suite on Emerald.
  17. Thanks, Jim: Memo to self: don't mess with the Scottish lady in the red dress with the sword. Seriously, enjoyed all of your adventure. We have a BI cruise next summer on Princess.
