We are flying into Orlando & sailing out of port canaveral the next day so are looking for hotel recommendations. Is it better to stay in Orlando or go straight to Port Canaveral? We are on a budget.
    Also looking for transportation/shuttle services.
    thanks

if you are on a budget you will probably find the hotels near the airport cheaper than hotels in the Canaveral area.  Here is a list of some of the more popular shuttles in the area….

Driving to Miami the day before departing on our cruise. Are there any hotels that offer free parking for the duration of one's cruise as long as you stay one night?

Any local in Miami will tell you the safest and best place to park is at the port!!!!

Cruising Mariner December 9th, 5 day.  Almost all of the comments on here about berthing for Mariner are Terminal 1 with a few T1 Out, T5 Return.  I checked ship departure with the PC website  https://www.portcanaveral.com/Cruise/Cruise-Lines-Schedules.  Seems Mariner has been moved to T5 due to Big Boats usage of T1.

So, How is T5 parking?  Adequate for Mariner crowd?  I'm driving and RC has my sign-In at 1pm.  Lots of post here saying they plan a 10:30 arrival.  Is this to catch the outbound cars parking spot and avoid the "Side Lots"?  Does T5 have a Garage or outside parking only.

Thanks for any help.  Been 11 years since we've Cruised.  Looking forward to our return....

Mariner does leave from T5 now.  The garage is right there at the terminal and seems adequate for the number of passengers.  We usually arrive between 9:30-10:00 (arrival times are not really enforced anymore), drop off our checked luggage with the porters, and then park on Deck 2 where we can use the convenient walkover right to the terminal.

You will pay upon entering the garage.

    Hi,

We arrive in MCO on Friday 1st Dec at 16:15 and currently planning to take the 20:15 Greyhound bus from Orlando to Tampa booked (no suitable direct flights from UK to Tampa on that day). If we clear immigration quicker than anticipated, we are considering taking a Lyft or Uber to Tampa. I have downloaded both apps and added payment methods but where would the collection point be to pick one up ant MCO and does anyone have an idea about the rough cost to Tampa? Or is there a shuttle that runs regularly from the airport.

We board Enchantement of the Seas in Tampa on the next morning, 2nd December and are planning to walk from the Barrymore Hotel along the Riverwalk to get to the port that morning. Jet lag and a very habitual 6am UK time wake up mean this is a better idea than it might sound…

I can see a Publix Super Market on Bayshore, but is there anywhere directly on route to purchase a couple bottles of wine and some cans of coke to take on board?

    Thanks,

    Catherine

here is another option for transportation to Tampa..

  5. Some will say it’s not necessary but what if you are one of the lucky ones and they ask for it during boarding?

We took our granddaughters on cruises and were asked to produce a letter once on Disney and twice on Royal.  And on one of the Royal cruises their mother was with us!! 😳😳

I personally would rather be safe than sorry…..

We are cruising out of Port Canaveral in January on Adventure of the Seas.  I have a question about the parking situation.  First of all, from what I see, RCCL cruises out of terminal 1.  So, I should plan on parking there?  Can anyone help me with this?  I really want to get off the ship, walk to my car and get the hell outta there. What can y’all advise me?

The Adventure sails from Terminal 5 which is on the other side of the basin!!!  It has its own parking deck and if you are able to park on level 2 there is a walkover directly to the terminal, so no elevators needed!!

You will pay to park as you enter the garage….

What's a reasonably economic way to get from Port Canaveral to SFB?

Sailing out on a Norwegian cruise next month and I've got transportation to the port taken care of, but my companions will be adding a couple of bodies to their car and headed a different direction when we depart, so snagging a ride with them isn't an option.

I tried to book a transfer through NCL and it says they can't do it, and it looks like GoPort only does shuttles to MCO..

    Am I stuck with a $80 Uber/Lyft?

check with some of these shuttle companies. I believe some of them do go there….just be sure and pre-book if you do….

I was searching around and found a thread from 2021. Are there still taxis lined up in the terminal area (Mardi Gras) to take you to MCO?

A taxi to MCO is going to cost you a lot and Uber pricing will be surging.  Try looking into these shuttles BUT if you use them you must pre-book!!

I just wanted to say that I am very sorry you are so ill.  I have read many of your posts over the years and enjoy your input immensely.

I hope those who have been so rude to you will take a step back and think about how the world would be a better place if we were all a little kinder to each other.

Please take care of yourself and please keep posting…..

Could you post back what you ended up doing?  We are in a similar situation as you are except we aleady have a cruise booked for next June (that I booked a long time ago) and I'm assuming I can't put this casino credit towards that....  But, anyway, we are also already home and have about 2 weeks left before this expires.

You cannot apply a casino credit to a cruise that is already booked….unless your June cruise was a casino offer cruise and it has the same offer code as the new credit offer you have now

That's not what the casino guy said earlier.

I have booked ALL my casino cruises through the Club Royale number no matter what type of offer it was….

Sorry you were given incorrect information or maybe they were unclear what you were asking…

We are looking at Ocean view rooms on the Oasis. The ones that are available are on the 14th deck underneath the solarium. I read that you don't want to be underneath a deck when they're moving deck chairs. Is that a problem being on the 14th deck underneath the solarium?

For me personally…..I would never book a cabin that didn’t have other staterooms above it and below it…

I guess things have changed a lot. We used to be able to enter our information way before the cruise date. Now about 6 weeks?

at that time you will also need to select an arrival time to the terminal.

We will be on Wonder of the Seas next week and will be disembarking on Sunday, November 19.  We need transportation to MCO after we leave the ship.  I've checked into Port Canaveral Connection shared shuttle service, which got terrible reviews, and a couple other ones and none of them seem to be very reliable.  I finally decided to use Go Port shared shuttle but now I just read bad reviews about them too.  There are six of us.  I don't know if we should try to use a ride service, such as Uber, or a private car service maybe or a shared shuttle.  One of the people in our group has breathing difficulties and can't walk very far so I don't want something where we have to go quite a distance with luggage to meet them.

We leave in a few days so I need to get something in place now.  If anyone has any suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

here are some of the most popular for the area….

We are flying in a few days before our cruise and will be staying at Disney. In the before Covid times we would have taken the free Disney shuttle back to the airport and caught a cruise shuttle from there, but that is no longer free and it seems like it make sense to just get a shuttle from the Disney hotel. I am having a hard time finding any that actually pick up at Disney, but see that Port Canaveral Connection does. I have never heard of them before, would they be a good choice? It is just two of us and we may have one checked bag or two carry on's. The other option I'm considering is just to Lyft or Uber. But I know it's quite a distance and am not sure if it will be possible, or super costly. I have booked with Cruise Control for the trip back to the airport already. I would prefer to have things arranged before we arrive, but we have used Uber and Lyft before, and will be using them to get to the hotel from the airport when we arrive. Worst case scenario we end up taking something back to the airport and then a transfer from there to the ship but that seems like a lot of extra time (and money).

Thoughts on Port Canaveral Connection vs Uber/Lfyt? Thank you

check with these shuttles to see if any pick up at your hotel….

Prepaid gratuities are added to your final balance, not paid up front.

This isn’t correct…..you can pay them when you book your cruise or you can call at anytime before sailing and pay them.  They are NOT automatically added to your final payment. (as far as US bookings)

    We always pre-pay our gratuities….

  17. 25 minutes ago, Rob-Bob said:

Please explain prepaid gratuities (to get the old rate).  Do you actually pay them now or are they added to your final bill to be paid with the balance of your cruise?  If you pay now and your cruise isn't sailing until say 8 months out, do you get a refund if you cancel the cruise (I am assuming you would).  I have never prepaid gratuities.

    Thanks.

you can call and pre-pay the gratuities now.  They will not be automatically added to your final payment and yes  if you cancel yes they will be refunded.

    We alway pre-pay our gratuities….

  18. We always pre-pay our tips and will continue to do so.  We also give an additional cash tip to our waiters, room steward and sometimes a special bar tender.

No I am not happy with Royal increasing gratuities BUT the people who work so hard to make my cruise so wonderful have zero to do with these decisions.  Just like they didn’t have anything to do with one day room service, the new dining room menus or the other cut backs.

I choose to do what I do because it is the right thing for me.  I do not have an opinion about what others choose to do that they feel is right for them.
