  1. I love chocolate labs! I prefer them over yellow labs. I realize that they're the same, just different colors based on some genetic lottery, but I like the brown ones better because they make me think of chocolate. Yellow labs make me think of vanilla, which I hate. HATE Vanilla.

Thanks for chiming in, Minion =) Glad you're enjoying my literary spewage!

    DH

I'm enjoying your literary spewage too! :D

  2. Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I have spent the last three months browsing all the local stores (Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, JCPenneys, Macy's, Dillards, Belks, Kohls and even the consignment shops) looking for something that seemed young enough looking for me but was also a great price and in my size.

I did just win this beauty on eBay for $22! I'm so excited. Just hope it fits properly. The listed measurements should work but you never know. I figured for $22, I could pay the extra for alterations if needed. I'm so excited. Got it from ebay seller ever-pretty. They have dresses up to a size 3XL.

Beautiful dress! And what a bargain! Let us know how it turns out.

  3. Thanks for another great installment DH. I hope your hand isn't too bad, and that it gets better soon.

I think American money is so readily accepted here because it has historically always been a higher exchange rate. Right now our currency is slightly higher, but not enough to make much difference. It can easily be exchanged or deposited at any bank, or I just keep it until my next trip to the States.

  4. No, sorry I have already given the tux to someone else.

LOL, that is unless you can talk your husband into wearing tails for the event! I do have tails available in the same size. How awesome that would be!!

Sometimes I see tux's in the larger Goodwill stores and some are in pretty nice condition.

Oh well, thanks anyway. I think we will pass on the tails. He would probably go for it, but I think it might be a bit much for a cruise.

  5. Princess,

Can you wear a 3-4. I have the most awesome new full length black gown in a 3-4. If you would like me to measure it for you I can.

    Turtle,

Do you like this? It is a 12. Attached. I know the colors you wanted, but I just do not have anything left except black or a black combo in this size. I thought I did, but I have sold out of everything in 14, popular size.

Do any of you ladies have Big hubbies, LOL!!

Have a few tuxedos that unless I hear otherwise will be donated. These are super quality tux's, husband used them to dance in, only a few wears, imported fabric from Russia, great construction...

Hi Smoothdancer, Do you still have any tuxes? DH wears a size 44 pant. Inseam about 30" He would love to own a tux, and I have been thinking about trying ebay.

    Thanks so much.

  6. Right now the exchange rate is 5 Kuna to $1.00. During the summer the dollar normally falls slightly below, but that's close enough. Although there are many pick up points, I do suggest you transfer to the Pile gate entrance. It's the best place to begin and end this tour. I always take the tour every summer, it's a fun way to spend 2 hours.

    Thank you! :)

  7. If you are not comfortable walking the wall, then I suggest you may want to take the Cabrio bus for a 2 hour drive tour of the town and surrounding areas. A very nice trip and the views are fantastic, it does make 2 photo stops along the route.

Thanks for this suggestion Dubrovniklady, I think we will do this bus trip when we visit Duborvnik. I don't think our old kness could tak all the stairs on the wall. How much (approximatley) is 90 kuna in US dollars? Is there an ATM near the pick-up place?

Thank you, you are a wealth of knowledge.

  8. Brooke, I saw your trip review on the main Carnival board, and I just wanted to tell you how cute your outfits turned out. And your formal pictures that you posted were beautiful! You should post them here.

As far as the green dress goes, I am not a fan of green, but if you like it, why not? Go for it! I spent almost that much on a dress for our upcoming cruise, and I figure if I love it, and it makes me feel beautiful it is worth it. Besides, I will wear it for at least two cruises, maybe more, and get my money's worth. The way I see it, DH will be the only one who has seen it before, and he doesn't care! Lol! Plus my other dress is a $20 ebay find, so it averages out. lol!

  9. Thought I would chime in...I just ordered these two dresses...do you think they'll be nice enough?

I'll need to pick up a shawl for both - but I think I should be able to get something that will match both.

If you haven't ordered yet, try coupon code THANKS50 to get 50% off. I got an email yesterday from Igigi with this offer. Also check out their 15% and 25% off sales.
