  1. We have done a Cruise n Groove and a Rock the Boat. They are expensive, but awesome, with lots of headline 70's & 80's music acts. Blue Suede is predominately an Elvis cruise, but they have also added Buddy Holly, Cliff Richards, Beatles tribute shows - more of a 60's flavour. You will love it. 3 cruises this year: Blue Suede 17th Nov Rock the Boat 24th November Cruisin' Country 1st December Times have changed a bit, as these charter cruises would normally be sold out by the preceding Christmas. They are currently showing an EOFY sale for $1500 per cabin for Blue Suede & Cruisin' Country. There has been some rumours floating about that these cruises will shift to Carnival Luminosa out of Sydney in 2024. It appears to be materialising, as the next Bravo cruise (Performing arts) has recently been launched for Luminosa on 16th October 2024
  2. Yes, it looks like a love lock, and is at least significant to two people. I agree that we don't want anything like this .. So, they do this when a cluster forms on government land.
  3. With Princess plus package, a bloody Mary at no additional charge.
  4. We usually ask for pineapple juice, and has never been a problem. Then again, that was in the days of poached eggs, and that menu is clearly listing only apple & orange juices now.
  5. Try it. It isn't the same. It is something new, a different beast that shut down the whole industry for over a year, which is something that norwalk and influenza never managed to do. Nowhere, ever has a ship had over 800 infected passengers on it as Majestic Princess achieved last November on a cruise to NZ. We also managed to avoid catching everything for a couple of decades, and with those lessons learned we still returned home from a cruise with covid. Even with a big list of restrictions & protocols, it has already been a matter of dodging for over a year. Protocols are not about preventing the need to dodge, but to try and cap the overall numbers that aren't able to dodge it successfully.
  6. Funny, NSW health site has them regularly showing as tier 1, which confirms minor levels of covid aboard on most cruises (Splendor returned to Sydney as tier 1 this morning). If nobody presents with symptoms, nobody will test positive. It is driven by passenger attitudes to being tested, not any ship policy. Splendor also does lots of shorter cruises, so that also works in their favour. I hope you are well and stay bug free, but give it a couple more days to be sure.
  7. I think they still have tomato juice as inclusive, straight from the can.
  8. I don't know, but I would figure no. Either would have a promo code applied against the cabin, and I would reckon that it will only recognise one code per cabin. The shareholder one is per cabin, so already applies to all passengers in the cabin.
  9. There are changes ahead for Princess, largely around shareholder and military service OBC's being no longer combinable - one or the other. Please note that effective on 8 a.m. PDT on June 29, 2023 for all voyages departing after September 12, 2023, Shareholder and Military Onboard Credits have the following policy changes: • The Shareholder and Military OBC will no longer be combinable with each other. • The Military OBC will be non-refundable. • The Shareholder OBC is currently and will remain non-refundable. Cruise Length Shareholder Amount Military Amount 6 days or less $50/stateroom $50/person 7 to 13 days $100/stateroom $100/person 14 days or longer $250/stateroom $250/person
  10. Have you booked your forehead treatment? Cheap at twice the price.
  11. That is awesome. We have loved some short local ones on Coral since the restart, and similar for most of Majestic. We are doing a half world cruise on Crown in 2025, so will get a few of your Norwegian ports after we leave Dover. If our budget allows, we will tack on an around UK cruise with Princess as a prelude. Nice to see a bit of formality. I am getting a bit old for dodgems too. We still have plenty of Royal cruises left to do, but have settled into a sweet spot for Princess for now. We are OK with a premier package on a 3 nighter, as it includes 6 photo prints and all images downloaded and 2 specialty dining sittings. The price per night is the same, but 14 nights still only gives you 6 photo prints and 2 specialty dining settings. For anything else, we are happy enough with plus, where cost is covered by internet, 3 x martinis, a coffee and a water each day. The desserts are just bloat.
  12. Thanks. That more than fixes the twilight zone. So to follow with Karon's original question, there is no added benefit to an Aussie buying Premier on a UK cruise booked in Australia, as daily grats would still be charged over & above the package.
  13. The muppets that smoke would complain, but that would account for less than 1 in 5 cruise muppets. In reality though, smoking will be banned on cruises at the same time that consuming alcohol is. If they can police the current rules and penalise those that don't comply, there is no issue. I can't figure why there is still a ban smoking agenda linked to this anyway. The cause of the fire is still only being speculated, as any findings are yet to be communicated, if even completed. This stuff is important not to make-up your own cause. Yes, it could be caused by a muppet's ciggy butt, but could be much worse - an electrical fault in the cabin not caused by a muppet. That would be much more dangerous. My latest theory is that someone was using a primus camp stove in their cabin to cook-up some poached eggs and a batch of hollandaise sauce.
  14. I advised them that after somewhere between 15 & 20 cruises on P&O, we have just put a line through them. Unfollowed their social media feeds, and unsubscribed from emails. They could have fleeced DW & I for an extra $50+ per cruise, but we aren't falling for that and there are lots of other ships on the sea. It isn't a specialty, but a staple cruise breakfast (for us) that has always been inclusive till now, and is still inclusive everywhere else. Charging for eggs in the dining room for breakfast, what next!
  15. There are all sort of muppets on cruises. They live among us. 🙈🙉🙊
  16. Seems we are in a twilight zone with these. When booking in $AU, premier doesn't include crew appreciation/tips/AWS. That is fine for Australian based cruises, as they are included in the fare anyway. But for US/UK currency cruises, crew appreciation isn't included on premier fares for those either. I don't know if it is an error by omission, or if we are just omitted.
  17. I don't have any foresight. It would be nice, but years away. A lot of the schedules are out through till the end of 2025, and the number of cruises is shrinking - for now.
  18. Refund, no. Likely because it was included in the fare when they announced it, and it will cause confusion in adjusting everyone's outstanding balance. It will most likely be credited to your account as refundable OBC.
  19. They aren't sending many ships your way now. Back B.C. they were planning to send Emerald Princess for a decent season, and the 2024 season on Coral Princess has recently been halved.
  20. I think Princess is prepared to persevere with tendering, so were always committed to visiting Eden. Royal cancelled an Eden visit last season too, so have already demonstrated that they aren't prepared to tender into Snug Cove, especially given past promises that the port would be ready to accept them docking there. I think Royal have just been sitting on the fence hoping they would be given the all-clear to dock, while also not fully committing and scheduling tours.
  21. Big Gav is fighting a losing battle till you can control your rhino beetles
  22. Most Disney cruisers are just Disney cruisers, although I do know a few rusted-on cruisers that are also rusted-on Disney. As a comparison, how many cruisers are Virgin sucking away? Not enough to support a full season, vs Disney's first season all but sold-out in weeks. Like 6 star or expedition cruising, Disney are a niche with a ready made crowd of passengers. Yes, some of their passengers would have been on other ships. It is likely they are attracting more passengers who would do an Alaskan or Caribbean cruise on Disney vs a passenger that would do an Aussie cruise on Princess. There are also plenty of US Disney fans flying to Australia to cruise on Disney that wouldn't cruise on any other line.
  23. Yes, just a day offset to align them to Sydney on an available day. We have done Newy a few times now, and I enjoy playing tourist for the day.
  24. Brilliance should be small enough to dock in Eden without issue. Newcastle? 😪 😉. My shout for coffee or a drink if you decide to get off the ship. We were booked on the March one mentioned for Celebrity Edge which originally had a day anchored in Port Arthur. When it changed to a day tendering in Eden, we pulled the pin.
