  1. No help from me either I'm afraid. We haven't done a ship tour in years. At the Princess link, there is a star rating for each tour, left by passengers who have done them. That might provide a bit of a general guide.
  2. Agreed. We have had two port calls there, and a departure. The departure was as smooth as, so the terminal works a treat for what it is meant to do. A bit of a walk on a slight incline, but with the ship in clear view for much of the walk, it isn't the worst walk in the world. The distance from kerb or #1 carpark to the ship is less walking than the distance from CQ station to the ship at OPT, so that apparent issue is a storm in a teacup. For the port calls we caught up with cruising friends. One lot parked and we sat down with a coffee from the cart and chatted. The immediate surroundings are quite nice. The others drove to the pick-up point and whisked us away - so much easier to do in each instance than OPT. The drive out isn't pretty - so what. Back next month to disembark there. They better have a coffee shop and a free transfer to the airport, or I will be quite upset!!! 😂
  3. You might need to declare Nicorette gum in Singapore, but not here.
  4. Either. If you have it on your phone, that is great. You would only print it if you couldn't display it on your phone, or don't trust your phone.
  5. Any bank that has an ATM on the front is reliable, and they will have ATMs in the larger shopping centres --- Commonwealth, Westpac, ANZ, NAB, St George Our banks are slowly reducing the numbers of ATMs here, with cash being used less than it used to be. 3rd party ATMs are showing-up in their place and apart from a trust issue, they usually have bigger fees to use.
  6. I would imagine this discussion could have been confusing back in the day 😁
  7. We also have: AUSTraveler austraveller AusTraveller71 aus travels Austravel + quite a few variants
  8. They also have 3 x L's (travelller). My hunch is that austraveller might also be taken
  9. There as so many accounts that have similar names, and it took months to separate kiwi kruzer and kiwi cruiser, especially as both were contributors in the same space. Then there has been at least a dozen variants with Aussie/Ozzy - cruiser/cruizer etc. Yeah, it is a bit close, but a potential member can't ask the forum what names are suitable, as they have to come up with a name before they can ask a question. As you have done, personalise your stuff with a unique avatar or signature. I have decided to keep relative anonymity behind my long-suffering avatar (that isn't really us in my avatar). 🤣
  10. While your search comes up with large companies, they mostly provide a banner for smaller companies to operate within. As an example, Viator won't operate tours to the Barossa Valley, but they allow for a reliable way to book and pay for those tours with a private operator. Yes, they also take a cut, but they will only keep good reliable tour operators on their books. As you would expect, they won't provide the tour operators details and risk losing their commission. There are a couple of really good Barossa tour operators I know of but they don't pick-up from Adelaide, so I can't help with a personal recommendation.
  11. Touristy spots that accept Aussie dollars will usually accept NZ and US dollars as well. I can't say I have heard of it extending to Canadian dollars though.
  12. I have heard multiples, and some were really loud grumbles. I offered a suggestion for a very short walk to the MCA to see some pretty pictures and to relax in their cafe and look at views of the ship and inner harbour. It was met with - why do I have to get of the %#@* ship. 🤣 Given that a large % of passengers B2Bing in Brisbane would be local, I also think they would be grumbling if they had to disembark and walk to the coffee cart outside BICT. They would also be less likely to get on a Brisbane shuttle, even if it was gratis.
  13. Yes, they do, plus a couple of USB sockets. If You have a US to AUS pin adaptor, you can also pack that to pick up an extra power point.
  14. Correct. I thought the topic was about Brisbane needing to make it attractive for people to leave the ship and explore Brisbane, which is largely about day visits. Those embarking/disembarking on the day have issues with transport links, but most of them just want to get home or to the airport - not heading into Brisbane to spend money. B2B's are a side discussion to the above two. I know many that have grumbled if they had to leave the ship for zero count in Sydney. If spending a couple of hours around Circular Quay is inconvenient, Brisbane doesn't stand a chance at coming up with anything that can appease this.
  15. It is that gorgeous baby blue hull, a beetle magnet.
  16. Yes, they do. A typical example: Princess Cruises - Port - Brisbane, Australia
  17. Obviously not so many. That is another consideration. The more the passengers on a ship, the more chance one will have a medical emergency. On top of that, throw in potential injuries from Flowrider, climbing walls, or other activities. Ovation appears to be in a hurry to get to Sydney tonight??
  18. Just restricted. Other ships awaiting a bumscrub have called at ports - Orion called in Wellington. I believe her next stop will be in the waters off Tauranga for her spit & polish. She has however missed the fiords & Dunedin and I think she skips Wellington as well.
  19. If one thinks they have caught something and their partner hasn't, the partner provides for both strips. It is still better than a total honour system, provided the issued test strips look distinctive enough not to be replaced by a "here's one I prepared earlier" sample. PS: and there is also the possibility of barely tickling your nose with the swab.
  20. Apologies. I had planned to dig for you, but got side-tracked at work. There is likely a few others, but I did a "live" from the first cruise back on Pacific Explorer in May/June. There are some menus/drink prices from about halfway through. I think they are still current, but expect them to go up before you cruise.
  21. Indeed Karon. I was going to do the first cruise on Luminosa until it worked out the return flight from Williamtown was more expensive than 7 nights solo in a balcony.
