  1. I just got off. I was told that there were several gastro cases on board. After a few days into the cruise, they stopped letting you get drinks yourself, and they removed the sugar/creamer section at the IC. No salt/pepper sitting out in the buffet, either. They poured the cream in for you. The last few days they were dishing out the bread and butter in the dining room, instead of putting the baskets on the table. The last day they were dishing out the food in the buffet.
  2. We had the Plus. We did not try the $10 dessert. I did see one person with it. It looked way too much for me to eat and not something I would want. I didn't did any extra coffee (would have probably spent $4 a day on coffee) and didn't have any more than 2 alcohol drinks per day. Some days none. We only had the package this time, because it was about the same price as paying gratuities, wifi and the old coffee price. Won't pay more for it, though.
  3. How do you figure that the cruiseline makes more money when you are onboard instead of in port? It costs them more money to have the passengers onboard instead of in port. They are consuming food and drinks while onboard. Also, if you have the plus or premium package, you are drinking alcohol or specialty drinks that you wouldn't be consuming. They also make money off of the excursions that were booked. So, no, they make more money going into ports than on sea days. I wasn't expecting any OBC from Princess. It was nice, but not necessary, in my opinion. I'm astounded that anyone would think they they should get more.
  4. The pictures looked really pretty! We were there once until around 8pm and it was pretty at sail away. Have a great day there tomorrow, as we have another sea day, LOL!
  5. That would be wonderful, but unfortunately it doesn't work like that! LOL They have to plan ahead where they are going, get approval from the countries and the port area to dock there. There were probably other ships already there anyways. I wish that they could, but they can't make changes on the fly like that. It would be great if they could, though.
  6. In Roatan, Allure doesn't dock at Mahogany Bay, like the Princess ships do. Depending on the direction of the wind, that could make the difference in them docking and Princess skipping. We have skipped ports before (never 2 like this, though) and we received port fees back and that was it. We have never received any other compensation from Princess for it. Enjoy your sea day! I'm glad you're not one of the ones complaining! LOL You do wonder what some people are thinking!
  7. We are on the Caribbean Princess, which also missed Costa Maya today and Roatan earlier in the week. All water excursions in Belize were also cancelled yesterday, due to winds. I'm curious why you think Princess owes us something, other than our port fees? They didn't cause the winds. It costs them more money for us to be onboard than if we docked and left the ship. Why should they pay us for something beyond their control? This is our 16th cruise and this is highly unusual, but it happens. I'm happy to say I haven't seen any people behaving badly about this on our ship.
  8. How is the weather Princess's fault? This doesn't just apply to Princess. Either it is safe or it isn't. Oh, by the way, the Allure of the Seas also missed the port.
  9. We aren't removing it on this cruise, because the price was really good. But, we did remove it for our June Alaska cruise and just purchased the regular fare.
  10. We used a travel agent, but it wasn't a gift from the travel agent. I agree with you, they paid for it!
  11. We had it on our last cruise and our have it on our upcoming April one, because the difference between regular price and princess plus was only about $40 total (not per day) more than the regular/gratuities/wifi/old soda package. Not sure why it was priced so competitive. Probably to suck us in and enjoy the package! LOL On our June cruise, the price difference was more, so we opted to just book regular.
  12. We are sailing as elites for the first time April 1. I was looking forward, in the future, to exchanging the mini bar for the coffee cards. We have the Plus on the cruise, because it was on a promotion when we booked last fall. however, since we don't drink very many alcohol drinks and don't care about juice bars, smoothies, fitness classes or premium desserts, we will be paying as we go from now on. On past sailings, we would get the soda package and I would buy a coffee card. We will be doing ala carte from now on. So, no I wouldn't like trading for an upgrade from plus to premium, because we probably won't be purchasing plus.
  13. There is no new coffee package. There is the $30/day coffee, soda & juice bar package.
  14. It was by Cruise Hive, not Princess, and it was dated February 26th, like it was already in place. It leads me to believe that they had the wrong info. They described the old coffee card program.
  15. Thanks! We saw the new Top Gun on The Enchanted over Thanksgiving. It was fun to watch out there!
  16. We are boarding the Caribbean Princess 4/1 and we were curious about what movies are currently playing at MUTS? Thanks!
  17. At home we try to eat between 5 & 6, preferably closer to 5. We do the same on the cruise, so that we can see the 7:30 entertainment without being rushed. It usually works well for us. I would have a very hard time sleeping if I ate late.
  18. Agreed. I have bought soda package and coffee cards on almost all of my cruises. This one coming up we have Princess Plus, because the price was good on it when we purchased it, but it will probably be the last time that we do. Before the medallion, I hated buying things ala carte and paying for them, you had to wait for it to ring up, sign the paper, etc. It was just easier to buy the package at the old prices. I don't drink premium coffees, just a lot of brewed. Now, I will just buy as I go, it won't take long to scan my medallion and I will spend WAY less. But it figures that they take away the elite mini bar exchange, as this next cruise will be our first elite. We never had the opportunity to exchange it out and I was looking forward to doing that! LOL
  19. There were six of us in our party and we all had the same impression of the waitstaff.
  20. We ate at Sabatini's and The Crown Grill on the Enchanted in November 2022. We did NOT like Sabatini's at all. The food was just meh and the servers were rude. They acted like we were bothering them when we asked them for something. We ate at the Crown Grill later in the week and it was excellent! We were relieved because we ate there in November 2021 on the Emerald and we were disappointed. We didn't think it was worth the $29 upcharge then. We would have really been unhappy to have paid $39. But, like I said earlier, our Nov 2022 CG on The Enchanted was wonderful.
  21. I drink regular coffee (no specialty ones) and Diet Coke. There is no way that I would spend $35 per day buying them individually. How much is a cup of coffee in the IC now? Just coffee, nothing specialty?
  22. I really don't get WHY they messed with The Love Boat Dream. Why change it? It makes no sense. It was my favorite. We were on The Enchanted over Thanksgiving for a 10 day cruise and I was pleasantly surprised that it was the original version. My BIL & SIL stayed on the ship to do a back-to-back and they said that on the second leg of the cruise, it switched to the new version and it was not a hit.
  23. So, no more coffee cards at all? I always purchased it, because I love fresh brewed coffee. I don't like any specialty coffees. I only use it for the convenience of the fresh brewed all day and all evening (I usually grab a cup after dinner to take to the theater). I usually buy the soda package, because I like Diet Pepsi with my lunch and supper and I like it on sea days by the pool. I may drink a few alcohol drinks, but not very many. We had the plus on our last cruise, because the price with it was about the same as booking a cruise, soda package and gratuity. I didn't have very many alcohol drinks, many days I had none. I had already decided that I would swap out the mini bar for coffee cards, because we are finally elite on our next cruise, and just do pay as I go for the soda. Figures it gets taken away just as we would get it! I guess I will be a pay as I go for coffee and soda, because I don't see me spending more than $15 per day total (I won't drink as much coffee if I actually have to pay for it each time. I will grab hot tea in the buffet)
