  1. DH & I use this and it works great! I bought one for my best friend and one for my SIL, also! Love them https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RC2B9BY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
  2. I didn't pick up any sarcasm in their post, although I do hope that was the case. If they were trying to make a point about passengers being irresponsible, they missed the boat, in my opinion.
  3. Maybe they caught it in Princess Cay, but the OP was still having diarrhea, but went to the buffet several times and to the bar. Regardless of where they caught it, they were contagious at that point.
  4. I'm sorry, but this is EXACTLY how it spreads! You were contagious and went to the buffet. You were contagious and went to the bar. You were contagious and went back to the buffet. No matter how thoroughly Princess cleans, YOU were spreading the germs around the ship.
  5. We were on the April 1-8 cruising on the Caribbean Princess where this outbreak started, about halfway through. We did not catch anything, but we were careful to wash out hands and to keep them away from our faces.
  6. I love the beds on Princess, but I find the pillows a bit too fluffy. I really need three of them to get myself positioned just right!
  7. We love snorkeling in Roatan. We've done it a few times with Christopher Tours and we had them booked again this time. We have told our BIL & SIL that we were traveling with, how great the snorkeling was and how it was our favorite snorkeling spot. We were all disappointed we missed Roatan, but we totally understood. We were up on 16 back the Terrace Pool eating breakfast when we were approaching Costa Maya and we saw The Ruby veer back out to sea. We knew then that we would soon be following her!
  8. We were neighbors! We were in C635. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, too, and I agree with your review. No complaints and I would gladly sail her again soon!
  9. I can't remember who it was, but someone earlier that was upset with Princess for missing the ports and said that they would stick with RC from now on.....I just heard something interesting. The Liberty of the Seas was supposed to go to two ports - Nassau and their private island Perfect Day at CocoCay. With two sea days thrown in after embarkation day. Well, after they set sail they announced that, due to the high winds they could not safely go to either port and they arranged to go to Labadie, Haiti, instead. They changed it to one port day and all of the rest sea days. They were not offering any compensation or OBC. My point? The weather can and will affect the cruise ships ability to get into port. It is unusual, but it does happen to ALL of the cruiselines. It isn't always the strength of the wind, sometimes it is the direction of the wind. I was disappointed, because I had two excursions cancelled that I really wanted to do. But, I wasn't upset with Princess and I really didn't feel that the OBC was necessary, but it was appreciated.
  10. Well, it didn't work for us! LOL But, a lot of people had booked with a promo that included a free specialty dining. We seriously tried and couldn't get in
  11. Not necessarily. We had 2 recent cruises that The Crown Grill was booked solid before we got onboard. We checked after we were onboard and we still couldn't get in. We checked halfway through and it was still sold out. We did get a table on our April 1 cruise, though.
  12. Curious why you posted Part 1 and then did a separate thread for Part 2? Why not post Part 2 in the comments?
  13. We were on the cruise! This was our first Elite cruise and I SOOOO wanted to send in some laundry, but I did not. LOL I did a load half way through, because I needed to make sure that my husband's pants were ready for the next evening's dinner. Oh well, next cruise! There were 600 kids on board, but they really were pretty good. The only thing that got me was some young teen boys standing on the side of the hot tub ( in the MUTS pool) and jumping into the pool from the hot tub. That is a pretty big jump, on a wet surface, onto tile. I told my husband that I wasn't going to sit there and watch those boys crack their skulls open, so I got up to find someone to ask them to stop, but when I got up, some very smart man got up and stretched out in the hot tub RIGHT where the teens were standing. He was smiling with his arms stretched out, so I think he sat there on purpose. Well done! We didn't have any problems with things not working right or not delivered. I did call for room service hot tea one night and she told me it would be about 45 minutes and I thanked her for telling me and I said to never mind. The other nights, I called and received it within 15 minutes. Food was good. Service was good. Staff was friendly. 95% of the cruisers were happy & friendly. All was good!
  14. I just got off. I was told that there were several gastro cases on board. After a few days into the cruise, they stopped letting you get drinks yourself, and they removed the sugar/creamer section at the IC. No salt/pepper sitting out in the buffet, either. They poured the cream in for you. The last few days they were dishing out the bread and butter in the dining room, instead of putting the baskets on the table. The last day they were dishing out the food in the buffet.
  15. We had the Plus. We did not try the $10 dessert. I did see one person with it. It looked way too much for me to eat and not something I would want. I didn't did any extra coffee (would have probably spent $4 a day on coffee) and didn't have any more than 2 alcohol drinks per day. Some days none. We only had the package this time, because it was about the same price as paying gratuities, wifi and the old coffee price. Won't pay more for it, though.
  16. How do you figure that the cruiseline makes more money when you are onboard instead of in port? It costs them more money to have the passengers onboard instead of in port. They are consuming food and drinks while onboard. Also, if you have the plus or premium package, you are drinking alcohol or specialty drinks that you wouldn't be consuming. They also make money off of the excursions that were booked. So, no, they make more money going into ports than on sea days. I wasn't expecting any OBC from Princess. It was nice, but not necessary, in my opinion. I'm astounded that anyone would think they they should get more.
  17. The pictures looked really pretty! We were there once until around 8pm and it was pretty at sail away. Have a great day there tomorrow, as we have another sea day, LOL!
  18. That would be wonderful, but unfortunately it doesn't work like that! LOL They have to plan ahead where they are going, get approval from the countries and the port area to dock there. There were probably other ships already there anyways. I wish that they could, but they can't make changes on the fly like that. It would be great if they could, though.
  19. In Roatan, Allure doesn't dock at Mahogany Bay, like the Princess ships do. Depending on the direction of the wind, that could make the difference in them docking and Princess skipping. We have skipped ports before (never 2 like this, though) and we received port fees back and that was it. We have never received any other compensation from Princess for it. Enjoy your sea day! I'm glad you're not one of the ones complaining! LOL You do wonder what some people are thinking!
  20. We are on the Caribbean Princess, which also missed Costa Maya today and Roatan earlier in the week. All water excursions in Belize were also cancelled yesterday, due to winds. I'm curious why you think Princess owes us something, other than our port fees? They didn't cause the winds. It costs them more money for us to be onboard than if we docked and left the ship. Why should they pay us for something beyond their control? This is our 16th cruise and this is highly unusual, but it happens. I'm happy to say I haven't seen any people behaving badly about this on our ship.
  21. How is the weather Princess's fault? This doesn't just apply to Princess. Either it is safe or it isn't. Oh, by the way, the Allure of the Seas also missed the port.
  22. We aren't removing it on this cruise, because the price was really good. But, we did remove it for our June Alaska cruise and just purchased the regular fare.
  23. We used a travel agent, but it wasn't a gift from the travel agent. I agree with you, they paid for it!
  24. We had it on our last cruise and our have it on our upcoming April one, because the difference between regular price and princess plus was only about $40 total (not per day) more than the regular/gratuities/wifi/old soda package. Not sure why it was priced so competitive. Probably to suck us in and enjoy the package! LOL On our June cruise, the price difference was more, so we opted to just book regular.
