  1. On the Regal on 1/6, we got 2 Diet Cokes, 2 Sprite, 2 Lemon Tonic Water, 2 Dos Equis, 2 Bud Light and 4 mini bottles of Gin.

On a side note, our Elite bathroom amenities were just 2 Face scrubbers.

I think there are still supply issues.

  2. We were on the Regal 12/29 - 1/14 on back to back.  No Winemaker dinner on first cruise but they had 2 on the second one.  Wish my husband was more adventurous with food, I would have loved to participate!  As the guy who tried to sign us up said, it’s a better deal than a specialty restaurant.

Just off the Regal yesterday and this was our experience -

We were a group of 4, we had reserved a table for 7 each night in the Concerto DR before the cruise. We went there the first night and were underwhelmed. They seated us at a table for 6 (so with 2 empty seats) facing a wall and the staff was efficient but not very friendly. I don’t have to be best friends with my waiters but a smile goes a long way.

The next night we decided to try the Allegro DR at 6 so I changed our reservation in the app during the day. When we got there they had a kiosk for open dining outside the door and further in the doorway a separate desk for those with reservations. We liked our table and waiters so decided we wanted the same the rest of the cruise. The next day I changed our standing reservations for the rest of the week and that night as we entered we asked if we could be seated where we had been, no problem. Each night after that we were seated there without asking. The hostess was very friendly and always welcoming. We had a very “traditional dining” experience after that and tipped our waiters extra the last night.  I’m not sure if we had to change the reservation but I figured it couldn’t hurt. I’m also not sure if we had changed the time one night whether we still would have been seated at the same table. There were some around us that we saw every night but others were new. Food was excellent. I agree portions were on the small side but I prefer that and always got plenty to eat.

Regarding the medallion app, overall it worked well. We ordered drinks in our room a few times and it was quick and easy. We tried to order drinks on the pool deck a few times and that didn’t work, but there were many waiters making the rounds anyway. It was also nice for locating the others in our party. It didn’t work well for us in trying to message each other. That’s all I can think of right now. If you have questions I can try to answer.

Sounds like our experience in Concerto on our recent cruises.  The difference in Allegro was amazing!  After our first night we had the same table and wait staff every night.  It was actually the first time we have ever eaten every night in the dining room.

Just off the Regal. What an amazing time. So much angst about cruising now. Here are my thoughts on why this may be the best time ever to cruise.

    1.  No Crowds. Never stood in a line.
    2.  Amazing Customer service. Less people to take care of. Happy people at every turn eager to serve, to get to know you, to make sure u are happy. Who doesn’t need that these days?

    3.  Masks are no big deal. U can walk the length of the ship most of the time to ur cabin and see no one. No need to mask. Empty elevators. Almost no one masks at bars and none sitting at a restaurant or outside. Only time it is irritating is in a show. But less bothersome than just living in most American cities

    4.  You are likely safer from Covid on the ship than at home. All are vaccinated, tested and mostly staying away from u unless u want to be with them. And the newest studies show the risk of dying of Omicron is about half that of the flu now. No one in America is on a ventilator due to Omicron. No one. Only thing to fear is the rare ship that cancels or a port canceling or the remote chance of getting quarantined. In which case they refund your money. Not much risk in my book. If I get it at home I’m stuck for 5 days anyway.
    5. Whatever you think about Covid this is your chance to really live!  If u think the government screwed it all up, stick it in the CDC’s face and get on a ship!  If u think Covid is still an existential threat, this is your chance to live dangerously. In that case view a cruise as an adventure sport like skydiving. Risk your Life. Live wild. Board a ship. 😊

Thanx to all on Princess for an awesome cruise. Especially Maryna in the Concierge lounge. What a wonderful person who helped us so much. Booked our next cruise on the ship. Happy cruising to all!

    Maryna is awesome!!

Hi to all my cruise critic friends,

I had a great day today with my two granddaughters. I took them with me Skeet Shooting and they loved it. I have been telling them for the longest time Skeet Shooting is way better the fishing.
They both told me they liked it because it was so exciting. They both said I looked happier then the time I caught the littlest fish in the ocean this past summer. 😳 😁

Sounds like some great memory building time!!  Enjoy those granddaughters!

On one of our cruises, I marked that it was hubs and my anniversary (which will happen on this upcoming cruise as well).  We received a complimentary spa credit (if I remember correctly) of $75.  I got a pedicure. That was the only time it ever happened.

Good for you!  We got the cake for our 50th on our recent cruise.  Happy Anniversary! 🥂

Here's the notice that I received last month on the Caribbean Princess. It did not give the menu for each night. I forgot to ask about the canapés for the first formal night. My cabin steward left me an order form for the second one (which was the same night as the Captain's Circle party). They were much better than the old canapés.

We had a similar letter on our Regal cruises.  I missed the menu so we could plan ahead but we managed😁

Our second cruise of our B2B was our first as Elite and I had forgotten about the canapés.  They were in our cabin when we came back from dinner and a show.  We didn’t eat them because they had been sitting there.  Since the letter said, “ upon request” we didn’t order any for 2nd formal night but they showed up anyway.  Next time I will try to order the chocolate covered strawberries.  Wish me luck! 😂

  8. Now that the celebration comes up on the portals around the ship when you use your medallion, no more door signs.  We didn’t realize the portals displayed the “Happy Anniversary” announcement to my husband until our cruise was almost complete.  We also got a cake and it was yummy!

Since you and your wife each get a survey to fill out, you can double the number of crew members you praise by each one of you mentioning different crew members.

That’s what we do but since you are only allowed 5 per survey I just used one of the comment boxes to list the other 15 or so who were on my list.  This cruise had an amazing crew and I know it’s hard on them because with the low number of passengers, they were not getting a lot in tips or commendations.

That is why we always pay for Club Class….. do not have to suck up to anybody to be appreciated and receive consistently outstanding service…..

I didn’t feel as if we were sucking up to anyone. We appreciated the people who made everything outstanding on our cruises. With the crew on the Regal, it was apparent in every interaction that they were so happy to have passengers onboard. Service in all areas was World Class even though we weren’t Club Class.

  11. Just wanted to circle back with an update.

Nicola stopped by our table tonight and sat for a chat.  He was very touched and appreciative of our note and the wine.  He had already reached out to some of his staff that we mentioned in our note and said he would be in touch with the others.

We talked about how he trained Generoso and we told him we had sailed with Generoso several times on Emerald but we had not met him personally.

We told him we are spoiled for life and hope to sail with him again soon!

The entire crew has been amazing on this cruise!  There were nearly 1500 passengers on this cruise and you could tell!  No crowded elevators, plenty of sun loungers all day, plenty of places to sit in the buffet and empty tables most of the time in the Piazza.

I just spoke to corporate, as they called me about my concerns regarding TD.

I said my concerns were that some ships didn’t seem to offer TD or the ability to

have the same table, time and staff every

night, even though you book it on DMW as though it is similar to TD.

Also, to move to a new table, new people and staff every night could increase your chances of being around someone with covid.  Your sitting close, unmasked for up to an hour, etc.

You would lose that building of rapport with the same waiters every night too.

She said, it may not be called TD, but the option should still be there on ALL ships to accommodate you, if you

tell the MD or your waiter that’s what you prefer.

She said she will pass on my concerns to others in Corporate.  All ships should be doing the same thing.

From her lips to the ships! 😁

In our case, getting the right Head Waiter and ultimately the Maitre d worked wonders!  It shouldn’t be hard!

  13. We were on our 3rd PVP because they kept moving on.  The most recent one was a whole lot of no help.  I typically have everything ready to book and call or email him to finalize.  But for any price drop refares or changes, he drags his feet,

When meeting with the Future Cruise Consultant on our current cruise, I mentioned I wanted another PVP.  He said I could just call the main line and make a request.  After chatting for a few minutes, he said, “Hold on, I have someone in mind.  Let me check with her but it is Saturday and she may not respond.”  Next thing we know, we have a new PVP!
I prefer that to having to wait on hold for a long time.

We board the Regal on Friday and have reservations in Concerto for the same time every night. Sounds like we need to consider switching to Allegro if it doesn't go well the first night. I think it was our only choice when we booked it. Odd that the DR that is specifically for reservations wouldn't be able to handle them 🙄

I would hope the HW has been updated after our experience.  If you do have an issue, we have seen many passengers welcomed in Allegro without reservations.  Say hello to Patrick and Grace from Steven and Deborah!  They are wonderful greeters!!

I will qualify that with the fact that we only have 1500 passengers onboard.  Things are flexible right now.
