What is the date of your cruise? I am booked on a 5 February cruise and our arrival times are still not available.

What ship are you sailing?  We are boarding Sky Princess on 4 February and I chose my arrival time over a week ago.  Hope yours come available soon!

I was on the Sky in December and they typically have 'open pickellball' sessions about once per day (doing this from memory, so I could be off).

Picketball shares the court with basketball and ad-hoc soccer and from what I noticed, it isn't heavily moderated (inmates running the asylum).

But, the good news is the pickellball nets are movable...people move them to the sides when the court is used for basketball, and then move them back on the court when it's free and folks want to play pickellball.  So, if the court's open, I think you can just move the nets and pickel away.

There were plenty of balls and paddles/racquets....they might not be the best quality, but for casual play, I think they are fine.

    Thanks for your helpful post!
We are looking forward to sailing on the Sky!

If you are particularly partial to your own paddles then I would certainly plan on taking them.

It’s not like we make money playing Pickleball. Lol! 🤣

We are thinking of taking them and maybe being able to play if the court is not in use during other times of the day, in addition to the “official” Pickleball sessions.  (The nuns would smack me for such a run-on sentence!)

    Thanks for your suggestion!

You should be able to see some things on the Princess app in the section Journey View.   I know for our cruise on Feb. 25 I can see Pickleball listed.   I am sure more will be added to Journey View as we get closer but you should see some now.

Thanks for the great idea!  I will try that!

Have you considered cruising on HAL (Holland America) since they are the PPA cruise line?

All Holland America cruise ships have pickleball. The line features the sport on Rotterdam, Eurodam, Koningsdam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Nieuw Statendam, Noordam, Oosterdam, Volendam, Westerdam, Zaandam and Zuiderdam. Also, Holland America Line has been named the official cruise line of the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA).

    Thanks for your reply!

Princess does have Pickleball also.  I’m looking for Patters to see how often we will get the opportunity to play.  Deciding if we should take our own paddles.

  6. Looking forward to our upcoming B2B on Sky Princess - Eastern & Western Caribbean - in about 3 weeks.  We are hoping some one can check their Patters for Pickleball times.

ETA :I have tried searching this forum and Googling with no luck.

    Thanks so much!!

Went to the MDR for lunch, and met Winston, a fantastic head waiter. We expressed our preference for a large table to share for dinner at a later time like the old late traditional seating (something the app doesn’t allow you to do) and he said No Problem. I also asked nicely if it was possible to get fettuccine in a Parmesan basket. He winked, and said he would see what he could do. Turns out fettuccine is no longer on the favourites menu, replaced with Mama’s Lasagna.

The beef tenderloin at lunch was excellent as was dinner. Lo and behold, my fettuccine in a Parmesan basket arrived, to ooohs and aaahs from the table.

Unfortunately I neglected to take my usual MDR menu and food pics, but I’ll post the ones I did take.

Love Winston!!  He is so eager to please and never forgets a face!  He spoiled us last January on our Regal B2B.

    • Embarkation lunch - Bay shrimp & avocado appetizer, salmon entree and orange soufflé
    • Dinner appetizer - TBGCS Twice Baked Goat Cheese Soufflé
    • Dessert - used to be Love Boat Dream but have not enjoyed the new iterations 😩
    • International Cafe - Chicken Waldorf Salad

    Now, I’m hungry!!

It is. possible to board separately.  Just make sure each of you have a designated boarding time on your Medallion app (although it may not be needed if boarding late).  I have never rushed to the sanctuary, but my understanding is that each person needs to make their own reservation (you can not make it for an absentee person).

Please check and double check what time is final boarding.

If they are in the same cabin it should be no problem to reserve for both people. I have always done it for my husband and me.  He stays with the carry ons if the cabin isn’t ready while I sprint to the Sanctuary 😄

When was Celebrity an adults only line?  It certainly has not been in the last 20 years.

As with Princess mostly aimed at adults, but children have been allowed and onboard.

I was probably misremembering.  Hate when my senility shows! 🤣

We have not sailed Celebrity but a coworker from years ago did and I thought he only cruised “adult only” lines.

    Thanks for setting me straight!
