  1. The Sanctuary on Royal covers a large area. Not all loungers are up close to the glass. Many are further back and get a little more breeze. The loungers on Port/Starboard sides are in full sun and can get breezy! The challenge is getting a lounger located to your liking. And, of course some cruises will be breezier than others! No one-size-fits-all for sure!:D

  2. When we disembarked the Royal mid March we received one. But, perhaps Princess is correct, many are left behind.

Thought, have a log available for printing when you complete your cruise survey.

Exactly what I plan to say in my survey - make the log available to download so I can print it at home.

With the responses so far, it must be another inconsistency we have come to expect from Princess :D Say it ain't so!!

  3. We only sail once a year so I'm not sure when this started. At the end of every cruise, on the last night we received a "Log of the Cruise" with all the pertinent information about our cruise. We did not receive one Friday when disembarking from the Royal. I popped in to ask the Future Cruise Consultant if somehow we missed getting one. He said Princess stopped providing them because so many passengers left them behind. I told him I was disappointed and he agreed that Princess should print up a few hundred for passengers who actually ask for them.

Have you received the log recently? If so, did you keep it? If not, did you miss it?

I will mention it in my survey.

Had a fabulous cruise! More to come in another thread soon. Laundry may take a while! :D

  4. Currently on the Royal and I feel the Internet is working very well throughout the ship. There was a short system outage a few days ago but we survived! :D

We have an Inside cabin and have not had any problem - don't even need to open the cabin door or stand near it! The Internet feels faster on our cruise! YMMV

  5. Our cruising friends boarded the Royal Princess today for 20 days, we will join them on the second 10-day segment. Can't wait!!

They let us know that cabins were not ready when they boarded today.

There have been several mentions of this on CC and I just wonder -

Would you prefer that Princess delayed boarding until all cabins are ready?

I have always loved that when I boarded a Princess ship, cabins were ready and we could head there right away.

Some have said it's no big deal because you can drop off your carry-ons and go on about the rest of your day. Others have said that doors are closed and cabins are not accessible.

    Thoughts?

  6. I am using a iPad and site is still not fixed. I called them and was advised to delete all web history and cookies. I hate to throw out the cookies that identify me on 10 or 15 web sites just to take care of princess and IT incompetence

I am on an iPad also. When I get to the messed up Princess site, I just reload the page and all is good. Have you tried that? Hope it works for you!

  7. While I have not done it, I have heard that you can see the menus for your cruise if you ask at the Passenger Services Desk. That would give you the chance to check out the menus and make your reservation early in the cruise for a night you don't care for the menu. Hope that helps!

  8. Don't remember that specifically. However, we found a couple of choices that we really enjoyed. Tell your husband to give a couple of new offerings a shot. He might like them and if not, they didn't cost him anything and he doesn't have to eat them.

One other thing, we found a couple of really good offerings (Specials of the day) at Prego's on the Star in November.

He does enjoy the Lido pizza so that's a fall back. Although I've tried over the last 44 years, he still has a habit of ordering his burgers with "nothing from the garden" :-)

We know he won't go hungry!!

  9. I'll be on the Regal in May for the first time and am looking forward to the expanded menu. As far as the pizza itself goes on every ship I've been on I just order my pizza with the ingredients I want and they have been happy to make it for me. Just ask.

So, my "Sausage and Pepperoni only" husband can have what he wants at Alfredo's? Can't wait to experience Alfredo's on the Royal in April!

  10. This also happened to us on our 12/6 departure on the Regal. So now I have a question for those of you reading this that are Elite (we are not Elite, but were in a suite). I found it odd that we were told we could go right onto the ship, only to then be put on hold in a normal sitting area right next to a photo station.

Does P.E. not have an "Elite/Suite" Lounge?

We are not elite, only lowly Platinum. On our last sailing out of P.E., we had a suite. The shore staff directed us to the Platinum waiting area because of our cruise card so I mentioned we were in a suite. We were the directed to the elevator upstairs to the Suite/Elite Lounge. Very nice to have less of a crowd and beverages and coffee, tea and juice.

  11. Many would disagree and would like to see flexible pricing where those who want these things can have them for a fee and those who do not don't have to pay. It was my impression from the survey that these perks would be available as a package for a fee.

My understanding is the same. The survey seemed to indicate there would be another level of Suites where you could pay more to have enhanced amenities. I love reading through all the ideas on this thread. Bottom line to me - we all sail in different cabins for our own reasons. We have only sailed in a suite once because we got a steal on a Window Suite. While we enjoyed the suite - especially Sabatini's breakfast - I couldn't get myself to pull the trigger on our next cruise on the Royal. Even though we will be in an Inside cabin for the first time, I'm sure we will have a great time. After all, it's not like we will have to wear a badge indicating our cabin category:D.

Enjoy your cruise in whatever cabin you desire! Whatever floats your boat er, ship! :)
