@Steelers36  you missed the aka Sheldon Cooper post script.  I apologize for putting you on the defense.

At this point, I will "check back" just before my next cruise.  For sure, there will be many alterations to these policies.  In a month, I expect a 2.6.18 revision.  (aka Sheldon Cooper)

And, as we all aware, any experience on a specific ship will not mean the same experience on another ship.

To me, that is one of Princess’s problems.  If only they could give every passenger on every ship the same level of service and policy!  But, they seem content to be consistently inconsistent!

  2. I have used the lanyard, the silicone band from Princess, the silver bracelet from Princess (can’t wear it as it seemed to fit fine but is small and difficult to snap closed) and for our most recent cruise found these thanks to a recommendation here on CC.  It attached easily to my Apple Watch band and I loved it!  My husband, not so much.  He stuck with the silicone one.

Thank you!  I tested positive for COVID the last night on the ship. Have started Paxlovid.  Need to fly back to Mom ASAP but can’t with COVID. It’s a bit of a mess.  But the cruise was great!

Hope you recover quickly and completely!  And prayers for Mom too!

@MustangGT ,  @Rick&Jeannie posted a pub lunch representative menu - they altered slightly from lunch to lunch - it would be posted in the patter (not under dining room hours) - and similarly for 'Alfredos' - whatever times were posted, they actually seated folks at least a half hour before that.  It would only be on non-port days so depending on your 28 day itinerary there might have been one or two.

Yes, they did have the Pub Lunch in the MDR on one of our sea days.  We had at least 9 sea days over the 28 days and we only saw it once.  No biggie! 😂

  5. I’ve been called several times and have always been polite when I tell the caller we are not interested.

In the past week, I have been called by Ruby with the same spiel.  The only reason I answered was because the caller ID showed my Princess Cruise Planner’s name and number!!  I told Ruby I was not interested, won’t be interested in the future and to take me off the list and not call again.

On the Island Pub Lunch was offered roughtly every couple of weeks in Bayou Cafe during the 2023 WC.  Alfredo's pizza lunch was in Sabatini's also every couple of weeks.  Yes - there were 'pub lunch' items in Horizon buffet too.

We were on the Island for 28 days and never heard about Alfredo’s pizza in Sabatini’s 😢

Ultra a premium beer??!!  'Tis to laugh.  Oh my.  Last Fall I was able to exchange for any beer I chose.  It was a bit of a surprise when they gave me some Grolsch one time.  I wasn't expecting an agreement to that since the bottles are large.  Anyway, prices are up some I suppose and we'll have to see what future holds for us.  I'd rather take one less beer than have to accept Bud or Ultra.

Yes, it was strange.  My husband isn’t a beer aficionado but prefers Mich Ultra over other Busch products and especially over DosX!! 🤣

My minibar has always included brandy of some sort.  Stopped collecting them. Now I exchange it for beer, water, and or soft drinks that mostly go to the crew.

This week’s fiasco was the worst ever.  Three calls to room service before it could be delivered. At that point, my steward was volunteering to take on the task.  Really didn’t want to add to his turn around duties.

One person was willing to trade the liquor out for Michelob. That order got lost.  Another was will to do Bud light, but decided to keep it with the original.

Just off a B2B on Island.  Wanted to trade alcohol for Michelob Ultra.  Room Steward checked and was told it couldn’t be exchanged because Mich Ultra is a Premium Beer.  It costs $.50 more!  We could exchange for Budweiser products.  Didn’t push the issue.  When we met the F&B Officer at our Meet & Greet on our 2nd cruise, I brought it up with him.  He agreed that Corp had changed some of the parameters on what could be exchanged and we both admitted it was petty (my word, not his), disallowing an exchange that would cost Princess $4.00 per cruise!  He then excused himself and called Room Service to make the exchange for Mich Ultra.  Kudos to him, but I should not have had to get him involved.

  9. Had the Pub Lunch in the MDR on the Island last week.  The fish was not good.  Nothing like it used to be.  Fish and Chips is also one of the always available on the menu under “Princess Favorites” and was no better there than the Pub Lunch.

  10. You can wait until you are onboard. In the past, the prices differed between prior to boarding and onboard but that is no longer the case.  A big advantage of waiting is being able to use OBC to pay for it when you are onboard!

Okay, having a senior moment, what is an in-transit passenger?

That would be a passenger on a back to back cruise.  Sailed on the previous cruise and staying on for the next cruise.

In-transit passengers are given a card to reboard if they did not remain onboard for the turnaround procedure.

Remember too, that Medicare provides no coverage outside of the USA.  I'm not sure about Medicare supplemental plans, but I'd suspect the don't either.  So if your only US health insurance is some blend of Medicare and Medicare supplemental, you'd absolutely need travel insurance for medical.

I thought I'd never need insurance coverage.  A slip and fall taking all of 2 seconds changed my mind about that once and for all.

We have a Medicare Advantage plan and it does cover us outside the US.  Gives us peace of mind.

What date is your boarding? I bored on the 17th of June at the Mayflower. I may have to wing it and test it by bringing it like I said what's the worst I could tell me to go check it in. Thank you so much for all your information as it is most helpful!

We board the Island on June 29th. Happy Cruising!

How big were your roller bags? At what point do they tell you it was a no-go? When you were inside by the scanners or before you even went in?

The roller bags were legit for airlines, so not overly big.  We were told as soon as we walked into the terminal that we needed to go back outside and check all of our bags.

This was at the Ocean terminal.  Our cruise in a few weeks is at the Mayflower terminal but we will just plan to check it all.  I also like to take my bags onboard myself so the unpacking can begin!

I divvy everything up into morning and evening meds and put each complete "dose" into these:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CMD6VJ2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Once separated out into individual morning or evening packs I put all of morning and all of evening into a quart-sized zip-lock bag.  Then, all I have to do is grab an individual pill pack before going to breakfast or dinner.

Thanks for the suggestion!  We have the plastic cases with daily sleeves that work great at home for my husband.  But when packing for over 30 days, the bulk adds up! Just ordered these and it will be great to not have to pack those empty bulky ones coming home!

  16. I’m glad to know that the thread title didn’t match the content.  Nightmare?  I was afraid passengers were being tossed about on the tender in high seas!

I enjoy long tender lines as much as the next person (not a bit!) so they have never given me nightmares 😂. Glad everyone made it back to the ship safely!
