  1. Just wondering if Celebrity has canceled the upcoming Japan cruise departing on September 26, 2021. I am booked for a Japan cruise departing Tokyo on March 27, 2022. Since Covid is increasing in Japan and the country is less than 20% vaccinated I am wondering if Japan will get its act together in time.

  2. I am booked on an Alaskan cruise from Vancouver to Seward in June 2022. Right now I am planning on taking the transportation offered by the ship when the cruise ends back to the airport in Anchorage. I then plan on renting a car for a few days and spending more time in the Homer, Alaska. My question is for anyone who took the ship transportation from Seward to the airport in Anchorage, did this bus go directly to the airport or make some scenic stops before arriving at the airport?

  3. Right now I am booked for a cruise on the Crown Princess in August 2021. I am curious to know if Princess is doing anything in terms of updating their HVAC systems and filtration on their fleet. I believe the Crown is about 15 years old and it would be nice to know if their system is updated even if their is a Covid vaccine by then.

  4. Schedule to arrive into the Southampton cruise port on August 30, 2021 on the Crown Princess. Staying on a hotel near Trafalgar Square in London. What is the best way and most reliable way to get there? Also what would the approximate cost be? Of course if the virus is still an issue there may not be a cruise anyway.

  5. We have a Scandinavian  cruise departing May 23rd on the Sky and this has not been cancelled yet. Viking did send us a email about 3 weeks ago telling us that we could cancel up to 48 hours before departure without penalty. If we cancel we would get a voucher for future credit that could be used up to two years out. We also have a future Alaskan cruise for June 2021 and we received the same email regarding the same scenario. Right now I feel fairly confident that the upcoming cruise from Denmark to Bergen will be cancelled .

  6. Planning on a cruise out of Copenhagen on Viking Sky the end of May. Given the issues of coronavirus I wonder if the crew is serving food to passengers in their buffet? Since using the same serving utensils by passengers is a great way to spread a potential virus. Having sailed with Oceania several times the crew serving passengers in the buffet is their procedure.

  7. I have been on two cruises to Alaska and just love going on whale watch tours. On cruise with Princess and one with Oceania. Both cruises I did a whale watch out of Juneau. The tour itself was in Auke Bay, saw humpbacks both times. The second time there also saw a pod of Orcas, 3 generations in the pod.

The other port was out of Icy Strait Point, many humpbacks and breaching as well. Hope this helps.

  8. Thank you all for the valuable information. Especially the detailed information regarding answers to all the possible questions. I think I will wait to purchase my card after I get to Copenhagen not knowing how energetic I will be feeling after a long flight from Toronto to Copenhagen.

  9. Going on a Viking cruise in May. Looking at getting a Copenhagen Card in the airport and then take the train to Nyhavn area where our hotel is. Thinking of buying the 72 hour card. We will spend two nights in the hotel and the ship does an overnight in Copenhagen as well. If we take the Metro to the hotel does the 72 hours start then with the Copenhagen Card or does it start with the first attraction that we use with the card?

  10. I am booked on the Viking Sky schedule to embark in Copenhagen on May 23, 2020. Which cruise terminal is Viking most likely to be using? We do spend an overnight on the ship in Copenhagen so kind of hoping the dock won’t be too far away from the city.

  11. Interesting information since Royal Caribbean  Spectrum class ships will be docked there and both Azamara and Celebrity are both owned by Royal Caribbean. Would certainly be easier to get to from Tokyo . Got to be better location as well for land tours of Tokyo from the ship, especially when doing an overnight in Tokyo.

  12. Just booked a two week cruise for March 2020 in and out of Tokyo. Will be spending two days before the cruise in Tokyo. I am guessing that the Celebrity Solstice will embark and disembark from the new Shinkyaku Pier in Tokyo. Since we like walking around to discover sites of a new city, what area of Tokyo would be good to spend two nights to see the local sites but also be somewhat close to the cruise terminal with a reasonable taxi cab drive and fare?

  13. Just booked a 14 day cruise in and out of Tokyo on the Celebrity Solstice. I have read that a new cruise terminal, Shinkyaku Pier will be opening in April 2020. I have read that this new terminal will accommodate larger cruise ships so I suspect that the Solstice embarkation and disembarkation will take place there. Any recommendations of areas in Tokyo to stay a couple of nights before the cruise that would be somewhat close to this new terminal but still be in a area of the city where there are many things to do. We love walking around a discovering a city.

  14. I have had seasickness before. I used the patch on about 4 cruises but then started to develop an allergic reaction to the patch to my skin surface, almost like  some sort of skin burn. Anyway I then started using the sea bands on at least 10 cruises with no sea sickness or other problems. You can buy them from Walmart for about $10. By the way I only use the sea bands when the seas get rough.

  15. Thank you all for the advice. Our cruise starts in Copenhagen and ends in Bergen. However we have already made our air reservations so we will have to do this train trip through the cruise ship. At least there will be some photo opportunities.

  16. Booked on the Viking Sky in May 2020 and currently looking at shore excursions. Have read a number of reviews on the Flam Railway tour which is taking out of the port stop of Eidfjord, Norway. I have read that there is a lot of bus travel along with the train trip. I have read that there is little opportunity for stopping aside from that of changing between busses and the train. I am a semi professional photographer and I am wondering if the train has an open or partially open car where one could attempt to take decent pictures? I would certainly appreciate any comments or information in regards to the train. Trying to take photos through glass windows is unacceptable for good image quality in my view.

  17. Recently reserved a sunset verandah cabin on the new Celebrity Edge, just wondering if any cruise critics out there have experienced this cabin choice and what you thought of it. I realize it is at the rear of the ship, my wife and I don’t have any mobility issues so the extra distance to get to the cabin is not an issue. Right now we are doing a one week cruise in March.
